I did a bit of research on DVD players before I purchased one. I found a number of them that were a lot cheaper, but also in the reviews and description of what other customers has said the quality wasn't very good in those cheaper DVD players as far as a picture and sound goes. If I'm gonna be entertained, you want good picture and good sound and they said the Sony brand was at the top of the list as far as quality goes and it's been doing great so far.

This particular player is very nice quality and easy to use. It's the only player I've had that will play even scratched DVD's. This is a replacement for the same model I've had. It lasted about 7 years with continual use. I think that's pretty good.

If you still have a few DVDs that you'd like to play on your TV (or even CDs), this is a great little player. It's a no balony SONY (I'm using their slogan ... but, it's very accurate). It's easy to set up, easy to use, and you don't have to access any "bells and whistles" unless you want to do more than just play a DVD (or CD). Most people don't even think about playing CDs through their TVs ... but, the feature is there if you care to access the CD capability.

This Sony DVD Player is small. It is easy to use and does what it needs to do. The Sony DVD Player comes with a remote with 2 batteries, and the RCA Cables (Yellow, Red, White). It does not come with the HDMI cable so you will have to purchase that separately. So far I am pleased with Sony DVD Player. I purchased it to replace the 5 DVD Carousel-type Toshiba that I have had for years. The Toshiba began making grinding noises and I called around and almost all of the techs said to just replace it as it is probably 15 yrs old and weighs a ton plus parts might be difficult to find.

I recently bought some old Disney movies and wanted to add DVD player toy entertainment area. I chose Sony because I didn't want to buy something cheap and it does on me. So far it's played all DVDs I have theifted and it works on my smart tv. I would say it was.worth the money.

I was looking for an inexpensive CD player since my old one quit, I didn't really think I needed to spend a whole lot of money on it and this was inexpensive and plays CD's fine. It does lack a display indicating what track it is playing nor does it indicate that it is even playing or not. The buttons aren't very easy to push in because they are thin and angled in a strange way.

I bought this to replace a refurbished Sony which lasted only a month before it gave up the ghost. It works well so far . It seems to have all sorts of extra capabilities which I don't use (or even understand!). However it plays DVD's fine and displays a good picture on the screen. My only complaint, which is minor but irritating, is that the tiny, tiny green light that tells you the unit is "on" is almost impossible to see unless the room is almost completely dark. That, associated with a couple of second delay in activation leaves you wondering whether the unit is on or not. Otherwise I have no problems.

This device takes about 5 minutes just to load the DVD and when it finally does and you select to play it takes another few minutes to start playing. Once your actually watching the movie it then pauses after about 15 minutes like it's trying to catch up. I'm taking it back for a refund.

It messes up my new dvd discs on the first try. We put them in clean, the picture starts messing up, we take it out to check and there are scuff and scratch marks all over it. We have had to throw the whole first season of NYPD Blue away. This tells how many times we tried it out! 6!! It is going back!

worked maybe 2 times. i go to watch a tv series( disc not scratched or dirty) wont play or load. i tried 2 different discs. dont buy cuz it will only play a couple times and quit. all i see is the DVD player screen, wont take you to any menus such as for movies or tv series disc menu. waste of money. i mean my internet is up and down right now but that shouldn't affect a DVD player.
