I got this dvd player for Christmas for my dad. Not only did it arrive on time or that it was specifically what he wanted, but the quality was outstanding. It was easy to use, plus the choice between the HDMI or regular optic cables were very easy to set up. The thin sleekness to the player makes it great for Entertainment centers and open stands. I have the previous version with the Red, White and Yellow connectors and the component 3 color connectors. New TV only has hdmi connectors so got this new version. It replaces the component connectors with hdmi. Same Sony remote, same Sony features to enjoy my DVDS.

The player is nice, the only problem is you don't get the HDMI cable in the box. Luckily I had one here otherwise I would have had to go back out and buy one. It is super easy to hook up and then make sure it is set up correctly with the TV. My suggestion is to put on the description that NO cable comes with it. You do have color coded cable, but that is for the volume only and NOT the HDMI, a little deceiving. I haven't used the dvd player yet other than to make sure something came on the tv and that it was hooked up correctly.

Love, love love this DVD player. I am notorious for leaving them on and buying out the lasers. They barely last especially if not made very well. However this one will put itself to sleep after so long of no use. But then if it continues not be used it turns itself off. It has great picture and sound quality a week. It is pretty inexpensive and we'll with the money I paid for it. Would highly recommend it to others

I recently bought some old Disney movies and wanted to add DVD player toy entertainment area. I chose Sony because I didn't want to buy something cheap and it does on me. So far it's played all DVDs I have theifted and it works on my smart tv. I would say it was.worth the money.

This is the 3rd time I've purchased this product. First time was great. Still using it every night in bedroom. Second time it was for living room. In six months, using it less than once a month, it suddenly did not work. No power. So I'm hoping this replacement works like he first one.

I have used only Sony dvd players for the last 15 years. It's a brand I can trust, so easy to hook up with the end to end HDMI cable. I collect movies, most of them still on dvd format. This dvd player has it all, reasonable price for a quality product. The remote control is basically the same like in the old model but the HMDI port makes a world of difference if you have a 2020 tv model

I really love this DVD player. It was very reasonable and the picture quality is awesome. It was easy to setup and it's easy to use. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because when I ordered it I wasn't aware tht this HD player didn't come with the HD cord. Tht makes no sense to me and wasn't in the description. Luckily I had one or I would've been upset if I had to pay for another one and then wait to get it.

This proved there is nothing wrong with my DVDs, even ones with a few scratches. Upconvert to 1080 is virtually as good as can be. Don't toss out your old DVD collection! (Does not play all “out of region” DVDs — I have a British DVD I have not been able to watch the 15 years since I got it by mistake)
