Sony dvd player is everything you want in a player and the price is reasonable too. Can run on rca cables or hdmi cable but doesn't come with hdmi cord

worked maybe 2 times. i go to watch a tv series( disc not scratched or dirty) wont play or load. i tried 2 different discs. dont buy cuz it will only play a couple times and quit. all i see is the DVD player screen, wont take you to any menus such as for movies or tv series disc menu. waste of money. i mean my internet is up and down right now but that shouldn't affect a DVD player.

The person in the electronics area was less than helpful and made me feel like I was bothering her talking on her phone rather than helping customers. Her attitude and dimeaner were very off putting.

After switching away from cable and over to streaming on a Roku TV, we had to get a DVD player, and this guy does an AMAZING job playing all our favorite DVDs!! I received a refurbished version(which I don't mind, but a notice would've been expected, especially from Walmart).. the previous owner even forgot a DVD in the slot!!

It worked well when initially purchased but in less than 2 months it isn't functioning properly. It will play but menu items no longer appear so it's less than satisfactory, and if it's already malfunctioning, it would be reasonable to expect further problems soon. Of course Walmart won't accept the return after 30 days.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 other Sony DVD players - same model - and they worked beautifully until recently, but I had them a few years and they are used every day for hours a day, so I wasn't surprised when they died. Things don't live forever. So I bought 2 more to replace them. I had recently bought a Panasonic DVD player, but it did not have a memory that holds beyond removing the disk. Very inconvenient if you need to stop watching a movie and then want to go back to it later after taking it out of the machine. The Sony picks up right where you left off, even if you take the disk out and put it back a week later. That's the only reason I would not recommend the Panasonic. Both Sony and Panasonic have excellent picture and sound quality, but the Panasonic lacks the memory.

Poor sound quality. Had to turn my tv up to 75 just to hear it. Fast forward was awful and didn't work most of the time. Seemed extremely low quality. Returned it after a few uses. The start up screen seemed from the DOS era. Extremely disappointed with Sony.

Why in the world would an HDMI dvd player NOT INCLUDE THE HDMI CORD? Inside the box on the instructions there's a small asterisk that informs you the cord is not included. Very disappointing. It works fine, but I had to spend $10 more bucks on a cord so I give it 2 stars for the hassle and frustration.

Was real easy to set up and met my every expectation. Good value for the price. Has a feature so that if you turn off the movie part way thru when you turn the dvd player back on you can hit play and resume the movie. remote control is easy to use. very good product.

A big step forward from the three-year-old DVD player it replaced. I especially like the ability to interchange up to six DVDs, stop in the middle of any, then go back and automatically resume at the previous stop point. Video quality is great, too, with a high definition-TV.
