I got this dvd player for Christmas for my dad. Not only did it arrive on time or that it was specifically what he wanted, but the quality was outstanding. It was easy to use, plus the choice between the HDMI or regular optic cables were very easy to set up. The thin sleekness to the player makes it great for Entertainment centers and open stands. The player is nice, the only problem is you don't get the HDMI cable in the box. Luckily I had one here otherwise I would have had to go back out and buy one. It is super easy to hook up and then make sure it is set up correctly with the TV. My suggestion is to put on the description that NO cable comes with it. You do have color coded cable, but that is for the volume only and NOT the HDMI, a little deceiving. I haven't used the dvd player yet other than to make sure something came on the tv and that it was hooked up correctly.

This proved there is nothing wrong with my DVDs, even ones with a few scratches. Upconvert to 1080 is virtually as good as can be. Don't toss out your old DVD collection! (Does not play all “out of region” DVDs — I have a British DVD I have not been able to watch the 15 years since I got it by mistake)

Love, love love this DVD player. I am notorious for leaving them on and buying out the lasers. They barely last especially if not made very well. However this one will put itself to sleep after so long of no use. But then if it continues not be used it turns itself off. It has great picture and sound quality a week. It is pretty inexpensive and we'll with the money I paid for it. Would highly recommend it to others

I really love this DVD player. It was very reasonable and the picture quality is awesome. It was easy to setup and it's easy to use. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because when I ordered it I wasn't aware tht this HD player didn't come with the HD cord. Tht makes no sense to me and wasn't in the description. Luckily I had one or I would've been upset if I had to pay for another one and then wait to get it.

This is the 3rd time I've purchased this product. First time was great. Still using it every night in bedroom. Second time it was for living room. In six months, using it less than once a month, it suddenly did not work. No power. So I'm hoping this replacement works like he first one.

Full disclosure: my mother plays DVDs most of the day, every day. She is in her 90's and doesn't drive any more so movies are her entertainment. I bought this DVD player for her, Christmas 2021. Just one year and one month later, it's making scratching noises, and stopping before the end of the movie. She's used a cleaner disk on it and it helped a little, but the noises are still annoying. We ordered another brand tonight to replace it. I know things aren't made to last anymore but they should last longer than this.

This is a nice basic dvd player. Composite for old crts and HDMI for todays tvs. No wifi or apps. Doesn't play Blu rays. No HDR or SDR. It does upscale to 1080P. Keep in mind if you have a 4k TV you wont get the best picture as your tv then has to upscale that image to 4k. This is best on a 1080P tv. Best for kids or those not tech savy as there is an easy set up menu. Super light and small for tight spots. Plays audio Cds and Photo Cds. Overall don't expect Blu ray quality picture or upscale like SDR. However, it is better quality then streaming. But if you miss those old tv shows complete or your feeling retro this will do the job. Nice picture for the money. A decent size Remote. Can save your spot on up to 6 dvds. Meaning if you flip through a 6 disc season set it will keep your place on each dvd. I recommend for those with 1080p tvs on a budget who don't care about Blu Ray. Those Who want to see thier favorite older pre hd shows in max quality.

I have used only Sony dvd players for the last 15 years. It's a brand I can trust, so easy to hook up with the end to end HDMI cable. I collect movies, most of them still on dvd format. This dvd player has it all, reasonable price for a quality product. The remote control is basically the same like in the old model but the HMDI port makes a world of difference if you have a 2020 tv model

Details please! Your review helps other shoppers. My daughter likes it. We keep it in the living room so she can watch her favorite DVDs. I'm going to get one for my bedroom so I can watch my favorite TV classics, cartoons, and family-oriented movies. Highly recommend getting a Sony DVD player.
