This is a nice basic dvd player. Composite for old crts and HDMI for todays tvs. No wifi or apps. Doesn't play Blu rays. No HDR or SDR. It does upscale to 1080P. Keep in mind if you have a 4k TV you wont get the best picture as your tv then has to upscale that image to 4k. This is best on a 1080P tv. Best for kids or those not tech savy as there is an easy set up menu. Super light and small for tight spots. Plays audio Cds and Photo Cds. Overall don't expect Blu ray quality picture or upscale like SDR. However, it is better quality then streaming. But if you miss those old tv shows complete or your feeling retro this will do the job. Nice picture for the money. A decent size Remote. Can save your spot on up to 6 dvds. Meaning if you flip through a 6 disc season set it will keep your place on each dvd. I recommend for those with 1080p tvs on a budget who don't care about Blu Ray. Those Who want to see thier favorite older pre hd shows in max quality.

Full disclosure: my mother plays DVDs most of the day, every day. She is in her 90's and doesn't drive any more so movies are her entertainment. I bought this DVD player for her, Christmas 2021. Just one year and one month later, it's making scratching noises, and stopping before the end of the movie. She's used a cleaner disk on it and it helped a little, but the noises are still annoying. We ordered another brand tonight to replace it. I know things aren't made to last anymore but they should last longer than this.

I buy nothing but Sony and never have any problems. I think it's top of the line. Great picture HDMI hook up, It's as good as High Def. I had a shipping issue but was still able to get it when I needed it. It wasn't Walmarts fault, it was the company that they used to ship it to me. I find that Walmart has the best prices on quality electronics. Got my DVD player on 12/16/16 at 7:30 am, it was dropped at my front door and they rang my doorbell. It's that simple :) If you need a DVD player this is the way to go for the price.

I Just tried it for a second time today before answering Your Survey. If for whatever reason it showed the On button finally came on after approx 8 minutes then I inserted another disk into the machine. It is now playing the disk. Previously it was a Dead Machine when I received it on Monday July 20, 2020

I live for my DVD's since I don't have any form of tv at my home. This model is so inexpensive that I've bought 4 to use with extra tv's so I can now view my dvd collection from several rooms of the house (as well as in my camper). Please note that this model is quite basic; it doesn't feature any bells and whistles or lots of buttons to push. It simply plays the DVD's properly and can be operated from the unit itself or with the accompanying remote. Additionally, it's small and takes up very little room near my tv set. Sony has always been a reliable brand for me, and so far this simple little player has been no exception. I imagine I'll get at least several years' use out of this $30 investment.

I bought this to replace a refurbished Sony which lasted only a month before it gave up the ghost. It works well so far . It seems to have all sorts of extra capabilities which I don't use (or even understand!). However it plays DVD's fine and displays a good picture on the screen. My only complaint, which is minor but irritating, is that the tiny, tiny green light that tells you the unit is "on" is almost impossible to see unless the room is almost completely dark. That, associated with a couple of second delay in activation leaves you wondering whether the unit is on or not. Otherwise I have no problems.

Just in case my other one dies I bought a spare because I use it so often!! I don't stream or have cable, just dvds so it's in constant use. It saves from last play even if you change movies, up to 5 different ones I believe. Love it for ease of use as well as installing. Price point and quality are good as well. This is my 4 th one purchased as I have one in each bedroom as well as den.

We have another Sony DVD Player that we bought last Spring and it has performed very well. This unit (DVP-SR510H), however,did not perform nearly as well. Firstly, I assumed it would have a digital readout at the front allowing you to see how far along the DVD. It doesn't have it. Secondly, so far we have played 6 different DVDs and two of them froze up towards the end of the movie. After watching over an hour only to not be able to see the ending is very frustrating.

We've just used this DVD player once so I don't know much about it. What I do know is that it was very easy to setup and play a dvd. The remote is like most remotes and it came with batteries. There's a page in the reference guide that explains what the remote buttons do. I've never had a problem with any Sony products and I expect this player to follow suit.

I just wanted a good basic DVD player. I found one in this Sony. Just the fact that it comes with a full size, easy to use remote is a blessing. And I can control certain functions of my Sony TV with this remote. Set up was very easy. Compact, sleek design makes it easy to place.
