We purchased and received the Backyard Discovery Pergola in July 2022. Pergola arrived in 4 boxes, excellent packaging and delivery. We unpacked and preassembled the Pergola to ensure all pieces were shipped prior to actual assembly. The assembly took 2 men and only 5 hours to complete! We love, love the Pergola, very beautiful addition to our back yard.

Me and a friend put my pergola up yesterday. Ages 52 and 65 in decent shape but by no means athletic. We were a little apprehensive in tackling this project on our own when looking at the gazililon pieces. The directions were extremely clear - highly unusual. We didn't make a single mistake! It is stunning. The only complaint is that the shade cloth is 2-3 feet short? I don't get it. I read other reviews and I am glad that someone warned us about being careful not to drop the screws inside the cross beams because it would have been a total pain to get them out. I suggest adding a note about this into the directions. Surprisingly we didn't drop any in there. It is super sturdy too. Very high quality.

Great purchase. Straightforward to put together; however would recommend having 2 people to assemble all the beams and then 4-5 people to hold/bolt together the frame. After that step, the rest goes pretty quickly (even faster with 2 people and 2 ladders). Still looks great after nearly a year of use. Highly recommend.

Bought this after much research and debate. Price seemed too good to be true. Item showed up as scheduled and delivery was seamless. Comes in 4 boxes on a pallet which are a little heavy but I was able to slide one off of the other with some effort. Directions are simple and easy to follow. I assembled the unit by myself (with a little help from my wife on some of the awkward parts). Directions said 2 men - 10 hours, I did it in about 24 hours total, over about 4 days due to some family obligations. I differed from the directions in that I assembled all of the components at one time and staged them, rather than assembling them at each stage. This way when I was in full assembly mode, I could just grab the components and put them on. I'm 66 years old, in fair shape and was able to put it together with no issues. Note: They provide all of the tools that you will need.... however, do yourself a favor and get a GOOD T-30 bit for your screwdriver, and a GOOD T-30 allen wrench. The ones that they send won't hold up as there are about 300 screws. Follow the direction and you'll be fine. Make sure that it is anchored securely. Mine is mounted to our composite deck, I drilled through the feet and put a 3/4" plywood plate under the decking, bolted it through the deck and the plate using 5/16" bolts and it's rock solid. Another note: the flat washers are only painted on one side to match the color of the pergola..... get someone to assemble each one correctly (painted side up) ... it's the most tedious part LOL

Looks absolutely amazing on our patio! Assembly with BILT app was remarkably simple, but of course time consuming (put together by 3 people over the course of 2 days). No missing parts, everything fit together perfectly, no misaligned holes or stripped screws. Arrives in 4 long boxes (approximately 150-200 pounds each), very manageable for 2 people. So far, we are very satisfied with this purchase and very hopeful it will stand the test of time. Satin black finish looks great and seems durable, and this provides more shade than expected. Love the included power strip as well, nice touch. Overall, this pergola exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be more pleased.

We bought this pergola last year to protect our renovated backyard and new patio furniture from sun and tree debris. It is very solid, looks great and does the job. Construction is tedious with all of the bolts and washers but I was able to do almost all of it myself other than lifting up the vertical supports and getting it into the air. So far seems to be handling the weather very well. Amazing value vs a custom kit

Sheer perfection. Every hole is perfectly aligned. Assembly instructions were clear. Total assembly time about 8 hours. ( by this 66 year old couple) Absolutely no regrets. Complements our space and looks phenomenal. Best of all, no maintenance! Love this product!!!!

Purchased the white 16x12 Hawthorne in March 2023 and could NOT be more satisfied!! The quality of this steel-framed Pergola is superior to others we considered - not to mention assembly was much easier than expected. Absolutely would highly recommend this product - no regrets!

Visiting Sam's Club, I saw a wooden pergola and asked the associate if they came in different materials, colors, and sizes. I was told to look at the pergola section on the website as there was a wide variety. Upon reviewing I was pleasantly surprised and immediately made the purchase. The arrival of the pergola was timely. While I didn't go with the Sam's installation team as the date was too far away, I got another team to install and the outcome exceeded my expectations when the pergola was finished. This is now my new zen space. I absolutely love the pergola and would highly recommend it.

We bought this pergola as a replacement for a "big box store" pergola that we had for several years. The difference is design, quality, ease of assemble and customer service is amazing. We upgraded to a bigger size than we had. The canopy is a much better design than the drape over models. Very happy with the purchase and are considering an attached pergola for our back porch.
