I hate the new packaging. Worse thing ever. It is not easy to open. Pull here don't twist, you got this. NO, I didn't get it. It was so hard to open. I have been buying this for many years, and now you are making it difficult to open. The packaging team couldn't come up with anything better? So disappointed. I won't be buying this again because of the packaging. The product itself is replaceable. Too bad! I was a customer for many years.

The new cardboard packaging is a disaster! When you eventually do get it open, the flimsy canister is mangled. The paper "lid" is a floppy flap, incapable of adequately sealing/protecting the integrity of the product. I'm so glad I didn't toss my last plastic canister in the recycling bin, since the new powder got transferred there. A rigid canister which could be refilled via bagged powder or even a resealable, ziploc-esque pouch would be preferable. Your product is fantastic, but your packaging needs attention.

I've been taking this product for a few years. I have very weak nails and do feel this helps. However, the new packaging is terrible. While I fully agree with utilizing less plastic, this new container is not the way to do it. The description on the container claims you can lock the top....no way. It's flimsy and will spill if not extrememly careful. This colllagen costs way too much money for this type of packaging.

Product itself is great. BIG PROBLEM CAN'T GET IT OPEN. TERRIBLE PAPER CAN. VERY BAD FOR OLDER PEOPLE WHO CAN'T OPEN. HAD TO GET KNIFE AND CUT IT OPEN. PLEASE GO BACK TO PLASTIC WITH TURNABLE TOP. IF YOU CAN'T OPEN IT THAT MEANS YOU CAN'T USE IT SO WHY BUY IT.

I've been taking it for just over a month and already my nails show improved growth at the bases. Re packaging: score the perforations first with a knife (or fingernail), then the top will pull up easily AND it will close without a problem and with a good seal.

I have been using this product for several years. The packaging has been a struggle for me!!! VERY DIFFICULT TO OPEN!!!! Pulling that plastic string is almost impossible!!! And the lining on the top is extremely difficult too. My newest container didn't even have a scoop. The packaging definitely needs an upgrade.

I used Vital Proteins collagen proteins years ago and started again about a year ago and I absolutely love it. I am thrilled over the new paperboard tub!! Do not change it - the first time opening it felt awkward but after you get the hang of it - it's fine. I use a serrated knife to score the lid first. I am reducing my plastic footprint and changing to brands who are in line. Bravo!

I've been using Vital Proteins for a year now — I use it every single day and absolutely love it. I really appreciate the amount of protein, and just recently realized that my nails never break and are longer than they've ever been! That said, the new packaging is terrible. Even my husband couldn't open it. I started with a pair of pliers, then finally had to stab a hole in it with a knife and saw it open. That's not safe, and definitely not practical. I totally understand the goal of reducing environmental impact — and I respect that — but this new design is just not user-friendly. The “Pull here. Don't twist. You got this.” — Yeah, no. I did not have it. I know I'm not the only one complaining, and based on the responses I've seen, it doesn't feel like this feedback is being taken seriously. But this really does need to be rethought. There has to be a better balance between sustainability and usability.

The new cardboard container is literally the worst packaging on the market. They apparently did ZERO real product testing with people who are like their customers. The powder is still great, but if I have problems getting into it, or resealing it because of terrible packaging choices, they have a problem. I'm all for paperboard products when it makes sense, but this apparently is one of those times where the JV team did the designing. Switch to a metal tin or take a note from the oats people. This isn't a new problem that hasn't already been solved for literally 100 years!

Can't use a product when I can't get the new cardboard lid open. Love the product and used for years, but if I can't open your new container I have no need to purchase anymore. Once opened (haven't been able to get my newest cardboard container open) the lid falls open when grabbing from the cupboard so you have to be careful how you move it. After years of using this daily, I have to discontinue due to lack of useable container.
