I've been researching and researching and researching for about 3 years now trying to decide between a traditional generator, inverter, or home standby. Ultimately I landed on the Inverter ... then it was several more months looking at all the different brands and sizes. Between the reviews and videos I've watched...I landed on the Westinghouse 11000. I can power basic household functions in an emergency with no issues with this single unit and if need be, I can purchase another one and run them in parrallel and run the whole house! Runs beautifully, quiet ... wayyyyyy more quiet than I expected, and in a picnh, my wife can move it if i'm not home.

Just finished breaking in the engine and so far so good. This seems to be a very well built unit. Plenty of power to run my whole house or welder & air compressor in the shop. Very quiet for its size, fired right up after adding fuel and engine oil. I did quite a bit of research online before deciding on this machine. Love the dual fuel option and full power capacity to the 50 amp receptacle.

So, the process began with the realization that our residence needed a reliable backup means of power should the electrical grid go down for any length of time. The dual fuel option with the iGen11000 was a must. The other attractions were the unit's capacity, the inverter aspect that affords greater safely to electronic equipment and excellent reviews regarding the quality of the Westinghouse motors that power their generators. After my "setup" is complete, I may muse with a degree of confidence that ready benefits will be reaped when the need arises.

I purchased the generator a week ago and have completed a break-in period of running it at low to medium loads for an hour on propane. My intention is to use the generator as a whole house backup running on propane unless we have a extended outage and my propane supply is exhausted. This inverter generator with eco mode is great for that as it uses minimal fuel when running under light load unlike non-inverter units which run at full speed even with lightly loaded. Keep in mind if you buy this unit for a whole house application, you will be required to separate the Neutral/Ground bonding which is internal the unit. Its not convenient to do, but instructions are available from the manufacturer.

I live in Florida and wanted to be more prepared for potential weather threats (hurricanes). Upgraded from smaller non-inverter generator and installed a 50 amp power inlet box with an interlock on the main breaker so I no longer have to run extension cords for everything. Definitely a game changer! Great features on this generator and competitive price.

I bought this a few months ago. I only have got it installed and running recently due to the propane and transfer box install. It's a quiet running generator and runs very smoothly. The instructions were written clearly, and the installed kit was a nice bonus.

Bought this generator to replace a 7 year old open frame non inverter generator. This generator is MUCH quieter even under load. Remote start works great. This generator is heavy which is the only negative but it does seem well built. Hopefully I will get 7 reliable years from this one like I got from my old one.

I purchased this generator to run my whole house when the power is out. I installed a 50A generator inlet box on the side of my home so that I could easily connect a generator when the lights go out. This generator was exactly what I wanted. It puts out enough power to run my entire house and it's very quiet and fuel efficient. I should mention that it puts out 240V, which was important to me since some of my major appliances require 240V. Almost all smaller generators only put out 120V, which is fine for many things, but not everything. The only concern I have about the generator is that it is quite heavy. However, in comparing other generator options that could meet my needs this model seemed to be the lightest, which was a plus for me. One small positive surprise I encountered upon open the shipping box was that the generator wheels had ball bearing axle inserts. Based on my last generator, from another brand, I was expecting just plain generic plastic wheels. Though this is could be considered a small matter, it inspired in me a sense of confidence and quality in this generator.

I bought this generator as a home back up and it’s proven to be a reliable, capable machine! Assembly was straight forward, it started with no issues out of the box and, after break in, I found it was able to provide stable power to critical circuits in my home. I’ve had no starting issues or power fluctuations. I’m confident I purchased to right power solution to run sensitive electronics during outages!

This Westinghouse iGen11000DFc Portable Inverter Generator is the TRUTH !!! It is powerful, and NOT very loud at all. I powered my whole house with this unit. After my 5 hour break-end period, I pushed this generator with a 4 ton A/C unit ( with soft start ) , five 65 inch TV's ; Refrigerator, Two computers running four 32" monitors. All the lights on the inside and outside of the house on. Fans on in both the restrooms ; internet ; and the 1200 watt microwave running.EVERYTHING, ALL running at the same time. 7600 watt total. On Propane, it was NO issue for this generator. I'm really very happy with this investment. The weather has been progressively getting worse year after year and I wanted away to keep my family comfortable during the next power outages. If you're thinking of getting a generator with LOTS of CLEAN power, I highly recommend this unit. You can thank me later.
