Power and Security

We live out in the country and electricity goes out several times a year, especially when it is very cold and demand is high. This generator runs out heat pump with ease along with all other appliances in the house. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Great solution for us

We purchased the dual fuel inverter for power outages. We haven't had a need to try it yet, and hope we never need to, but having it as insurance brings peace of mind. One feature we particularly appreciate is the option to use gasoline or propane as a fuel source.

Solid initial evaluation

I have only used this for about 1 hours. I assembled it which was straightforward. Quality seems good. Ran good. Hooked it up to my 50 amp generator sub panel and ran it up to about 50% power on propane, no issues. I obviously cannot comment on long term durability or fuel efficiency but so far so good. Only negative I could say so far is that some of the fittings on the propane regulator/hose were loose, but that's understandable. Also, the propane tubing is too short in my opinion.

It read a lot and got this one.

I have run it for about 3 hours to break it in. Have 2 more to go. I tried the ECO which is to slow the rpm, but it has e zero effect! This is not good. While I was running it I plugged in a 120-vote box window fan to blow any fumes away and make a bit of a load. But after 30 minutes the fan stopped, I moved the plug to the wall outlet, but still no run. I got another 120 Vote Box fan and plugged it in, 90 minutes later it also stopped! Moved the plug to the wall nothing! Now I am concerned. So, now I am waiting for a call back from Westinghouse.

So Far, So Good

Boght this a few weeks ago as replacement for my CAT 5500. I wanted a quieter solution with enough power to run my 3 1/2 TON Home AC. I'm still running the break-in. But so far, I'm impressed. Setup was pretty easy and takes about 30 minutes or less.

Great generator so far and great setup experience

Tested it out with both gasoline and propane, works great so far. Really liked how easy it was to get it going. Has everything you need to attach the wheels, feet, and handle. Oil included is a nice touch. Also appreciate the battery trickle charger feature.

Easy to operate!

Using this as a portable home back up generator. Easy to run. Running it on propane, but have gasoline back up if the propane gets consumed. Controls are easy. I used to use a 4400 watt conventional generator. Starts readily. Have a 50 amp input circuit breaker with main breaker lockout slide - I'm not running my dryer, oven, or range, but I can run central AC (new 4 ton unit, variable speed, easy start up), fridge/freezer, and microwave. Plus TV, stereo, things to avoid the misery index... The generator says it'll hold just over a quart of oil, but be careful of overfilling. Make sure you have the generator on a level surface and I'm starting with about half a quart, letting the level equilibrate, then re-checking, adding in small increments until I get a level in the mid-range. Have only had 3 weeks and done break in - tropical storm in gulf now, will update as I use it more.

great invertor

Just got this and doing the break in period. So far easy directions and started right up. run 25 % load for break in period. Easy access to the sides and the oil change should be a breeze since they have a hose to empty the oil. I wish the % load lights and the fuel lights would be a little brighter.

So Far So Good

Generator arrived in good condition. Set up was easy and straightforward. Engine started fine. Generator still in the break-in phase so haven't had the opportunity to fully test but much quieter then my previous unit & based on what've seen I don't anticipate any issues.

So far, so good

After looking at a variety of generator brands, I decide the iGen11000DFc gave me what I wanted at the right price point. It was easy to setup and I've tested it using gasoline, a 20lb propane tank, and my 250 gal propane tank (I had a plumber set that up). I filled it with the oil that came with the generator, replaced the oil dipstick with a magnetic dipstick from GenExhaust, ran it for 30 minutes on gasoline and then 30 minutes on propane, and then changed the oil to a 5W-30 synthetic.
