Breaking in

I just took delivery and have read the QuickStart instructions for this inverter generator so I cannot report how the unit operates. I can however say I like the design/layout of the control panel and the aperence of ease of use. If easy, I will update this review once I have run the required break in period.

Smooth setup, easy to follow instruction manual

This is our first generator, and set up, manual, operations were all very easy to understand. We have had it a week and it is performing great. We are using it to power a barn/workshop for now, but anticipate also using as a back up power supply for our off grid solar powered home.

Hands Down, The One To Have

I researched generators and inverters for 2 months. I had a very tight set of requirements: output, operation, fuels, sound level, bang for my buck and a lot of happy owners. I looked different websites and sources. The result: Westinghouse was always in the top three. Choosing this Westinghouse inverter was the best solution for my needs.

    Wow! So quiet!

This is my first generator and I need an inverter generator that I can hook up to my FoxESS solar battery to provide power in the event of an outage with low solar radiation. My experience of generators is largely limited to my nextdoor neighbours' Generac Whole Home generator, which is enough to wake the entire neighbourhood when it fires up. Not so with this inverter generator. It was so quiet. So, far, I'm really pleased!

    So far, great

Just got the 11000dfc set up and it started right up, the electrician who installed the transfer switch was amazed at how quiet it was. It worked great once we figured out the battery on button. This is for home back up when the electric company turns the power off and sure could’ve used it a few weeks ago but now I’m ready for the next power shut off!

Works great. Runs electric water heater and HVAC

Running off house propane. Tested to 7+KW no problem. Had to move the large regulator from supplied propane tank hose to the house gas connection. User manual a bit confusing for Data Center display. I don't see frequency as an option. My DVM showed 60hz solid at full power with only a slight drop in voltage (244VAC no load to 238VAC full load).

Excellent Generator in this power size rating

I bought this in preparation for hurricane season to have some power in my house. After testing it, its powerful enough to run the essentials at my house, but small enough to still use elsewhere. Has plenty of extras compared to other brands in this price range.

    Easy Setup, quiet

Took about an hour to set, mainly because I had to remove some of the oil before starting it up. The oil you get is 1.1L which is the same oil capacity listed in the specifications. However, using the dipstick, it appears you should only put just a tad more than a liter in the crack case otherwise oil will flow out of cap. Started up on the first try and is very quiet when running with little to no load. This was a big concern of mine when thinking about purchasing a generator as the house next store is only 25 feet away. Very happy with ease of set up and operation.

    Works good so far

I haven't had a chance to use it with a heavy load or using gasoline yet, but with propane, it starts right up and is pretty quiet for it's size. Lots of great features. The only minor issues I have are: 1. The funnel supplied for adding oil has the wrong size threads so it wont screw into the the filler and it leaked oil. I just used a standard filler that I had. 2. The right side panel (where the oil filler is) was really difficult to open and close.I had to use a putty knife to pry it open (Yes I did turn the lock knob to open) and I had to smack the panel to to close it. Hopefully it will loosen up with use.

    Igen11000DFc

I just took delivery of an IGen11000DFc which is an upgrade from an IGen4500. The 4500 ran for 10 straight hours last week without any issue and got us through Hurricane Milton. We upgraded only because we needed 240 volt support to run our new septic pump .Everything was very tidy with the new unit. I like the no-screw side panels which easily come off. The oil drain hose was a pleasant surprise as I had added one to my IGen4500. I hooked up the battery, swapped the spark plug for an NGK and I'll add a magnetic drain plug as soon as it comes in the mail. I've been through 2 hours of no load break in without issue followed by an oil change. Tomorrow will be a partially loaded run. After that, I'll test it connected to the house. We added an...

    Quiet and powerful

I’m using this for a mobile food trailer and so far it has worked very well. It’s surprisingly quiet, too, which is ideal for using at events and festivals. So far so good! I’ll update this review if anything goes awry, but hopefully nothing will (for a long time).

    IGEN11000DFc

Just picked up this new inverter. Installing the wheels, handle and hooking up battery was a breeze. Have not had a chance to use generator on house waiting for electrician to connect plug box to house. Overall very impressed with quality of product at this time.

    Awesome piece of Kit

Just puchesed for home emergency use (I live in Florida). Powers my whole house with the exception of the high draw appliances (stove, oven, Hot water heater) at the same time. If I want to use the high draw items I simple turn off other circuits to use them, then switch back after usage is complete.

Very Quiet - Well built and easy to assemble -

Although I only recently purchased this dual-fuel inverter generator, I found it easy to assemble, easy to add the oil, and much quieter than my 10k gas generator when running. This inverter generator is VERY heavy, although once the wheels, feet, and handle are installed, an average person can move it around on flat ground. One additional note for the new owner - the removable door for adding/checking oil and connecting to the battery takes some considerable pulling to open - although there is a twist lock, there are also several pinch clips holding it on - don't be afraid to give it a good tug.

    Largest and best inverter generator

There are not many inverter generators this large, and this had all the features and a good quality reputation, at the best price. I wanted an inverter unit because it wouldn't damage electronics - but more importantly is more fuel efficient and quieter.

    Igen11000dfc

My igen1100dfc was installed 1 month ago and did the 5 hour break-in with no problems. The generator is very quiet, holds the house power requirement without any problem.i did have a CO problem with the sensor shutting me down after 2 hours. I solved the problem with installing fans in my generator house. Other than the listed problems ran great.

    AS GOOD AS IT GETS

I bought this for mainly hurricane. It had the power level, clean power, low noise level and it will run on propane. I had the propane company install a line from my big tank this a quick disconnect. I had 10 hours on it (5hr break in, 5hr total for small jobs). It runs great, it has been tested on the house and it will run my 5 ton AC unit, sump pump, all the refrigerators and one big freezer. I will keep this until Im to old to move it around then get a permanent installed standby generator.

    Very Quiet generator

When my 8 y.o. Generac 15,000 KW gen with about 30 hours died right in the middle of a 4 day power loss, I decided to try a different brand. I searched the web and when I saw this 11,000 kw w/ inverter I decided to try it. Igot it all set up and when I started it, I could NOT believe how quiet it is. I have not had to use it yet, but feel it will do a good job. So far I love it.

Consider weight and size if putting in RV basement

This generator is quite large and heavy. I have to figure out a way to store it in my RV basement. I bought ramps and will have to get some sort of wench so I can get it by myself into basement. I don't think even two men could do it by themselves. I cannot recommend yet until I figure a way to store.

    Very Satisfied

This is my second Westinghouse generator (but first inverter). I am even happier with this one because the inverter maintains 60hz and responds well to changing loads. I am especially happy that the system can be controlled by my home battery backup system to start and stop recharging as needed. Runs well on gas and propane.

So far, So good with one small quirk.

Assembled and started up first try. Quiet and stable running for this size equipment. Appears good quality. Average set of instructions. Only quirk I have found is that after starting with auto start and shutting down, it would not start with the manual pull cord. Tried numerous times. I found that after charging the battery to capacity, it started first pull. My thinking is that pull starting should be the work around for a dead battery. A generator should not require a charged battery to pull start. Maybe I need to review the instructions.
