Great inverter at a great price!

Just broke it in and hope to have many hours of use. My first one which was a iGen2500 and wanted this iGen 2550 is my second one for backup and has very similar features Time will tell but if it holds up anything like the first one I'll be a happy camper. Really like the easy access panel and digital readout.

Mighty & Compact

I received this as a Christmas gift and haven't gotten to put a load on it yet, but I have started it and let it run for a little bit. Love Love the size and weight of it and how easy it was to start with a pull cord. Anxious and can't wait to use it on our next camping trip.

First Impressions

Received my new iGen2500 in great condition. Everything ready to go, just add the oil that was provided. Started with first pull. Running quiet, minimal vibration. First impression was great. Will have to follow up when I have had a chance to put a few hours on it

Great Product

I bought this small inverter generator to power a camper because of the RV receptacle and the dual fuel feature. Runs great, powers my RV appropriately and even handles the A/C unit. It arrived with every I needed to get it up and running quickly and it is very quiet.

Surprised about the quick start. One pull started right up.

Tested it out on my Refrigerator in the garage. Ran smooth & quiet in Eco. Mode for10min. No problems. Would definitely refer a friend to buy. I bought the 2500 might get another. 48 pounds is easy to handle and move around.Great product from Westinghouse keep up the good work.

Excellent Product

I bought the iGen2550 generator back in May, and have used the generator extensively since then. We purchased the product to power tools where we don't have access to a power supply and a mobile inflatable that our company owns. The iGen is lightweight and has a descent running time (for our purposes). We are extremely happy with this product.

Great Generator For The Price

I bough this generator 2 weeks ago and have used it for a while so i can review it properly. I purchased it because of the features it has that are very helpful such as the display. It shows time it will run until empty based on load, how much fuel is in the fuel tank, how many watts are loaded on the generator, engine hours which is helpful for maintenance, and how many liters of fuel is left. Its pretty fuel efficient I just finished its break in today so far its running good. Now for the things I don't like. Its not as quiet as i was hoping for but its a small high revving engine up to 5000 rpm so to be expected. The plastic panel on the right side rattles quiet a bit adding to the noise which sometimes is louder then the generator itself. And last it always takes a lot of pulls to start it about 7 to 10 pulls cold even if it just ran the day before about 3 or 4 warm. I start it just like the manual says but still is hard to start cold and warm. But overall a decent generator if you can get over the hard starting sometimes.

Hannibal the Great-Generator

I bought this a month ago to prepare for bad weather. After unpacking the generator and reading the quick start direction it started on the first try. Then I hooked it up to test it capacity to power refrigerator, heater, TV, and microwave and everything worked fine. I did not have to use it but, if I need it I have the peace of mind that it will work properly.

Exactly what I had hoped for

Pros: - Oil & funnel included - Started for first time on first pull - Light (for me at least) - LCD readout is useful - Paralleling function works Cons: - A phillips-head screwdriver is needed to take the side off (no big deal really) This little devil turned out to be everything that I had expected and hoped for. The box arrived somewhat damaged, but I went ahead and opened it anyway, and the generator was just fine. There's a small container of oil and a funnel that come in the box. It took almost no effort to fill the oil reservoir; just pop the cover off and fill it up. My generator took the whole jug of the provided oil. I did not add any additional oil. Before the first start, I filled the gas tank about halfway with ethanol free gas from the local Bucees. I choked the engine, and it started on the first pull. After about 5, maybe 10 seconds, it became clear that it no longer needed the choke, so I dialed it down to the "Run" position and the generator ran just fine. The parallel cable works very well. Another guy at the office bought the same generator and the parallel cable, so we tested it out with a series of shop fans and a portable A/C unit. The load balancing appears to work well (18% & 26% with fans; 80% & 82% with A/C and fans). 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic! But have to drain oil before storing?

We bought this during a multi day power outage to save the contents of 2 freezers, and in that respect it was great. Much more portable than a traditional wheeled generator and had more than enough capacity and surprisingly long run time. But now I am looking to put it into storage until its next needed. Page 24 says more than 6 months storage, drain float bowl, fuel and a small amount of oil in spark plug hole. Which I would expect. BUT page 22, instructions for draining fuel tank and carb float bowl says 'To prevent damage to the unit, drain engine oil before emptying fuel tank'. What!? So you have to drain the oil before you can siphon the tank empty? And then what, refill it? What a pain if so, and how does that make any sense. Cant I just empty the float bowl, siphon out the fuel and leave the oil in the unit? PS. my unit included a flyer promising a free cover if I left a review so hopefully I do receive that.
