Simple to operate for an older person

I bought this generator a yer ago to take to Florida and clean out our flooded house. A basic power supply was what I needed that was easily portable, the 2550 was a perfect fit. It started on the third pull after filling oil and gas, provided lights and tool battery recharging with no complications, Been busy remodeling our house in Illinois and kept it for emergencies. None yet in Illinois.

Quiet and easy starting

This generator will run my 2008 camper A/c.It is quiet, i cant put a Db value on it but it seems as quiet as the other red or blue models. Easy starting. two things i would like to improve: a fuel shutoff valve so the carburetor could be run dry for storage without draining the fuel tank, and, change the carry handle to a handle across each end to make it easier for two old people to carry.

Fantastic: iGen inverter generator 2550

It's perfect to take camping especially for boondocking. It'll keeps my wife and my CPAP running all night and charges my batteries. It also has the power to run our Mr. Coffee, and run the AC., not at the same time. I'm glad I bought it. Good price too. It didn't break the bank.

Igen2550dfc

Did warm up period just fine Took to 8K ft elevation and really needed to top off oil to allow to function without oil sensor shut off. But worked fine with oil at over flow level at dip stick oil add port. Used torpedo level to level out generator in both planes.

Portable Generator

I live in an area where power can go out at any time. We both feel better knowing we have access to our generator for emergencies. This lightweight and powerful enough to get us through and quiet enough so it is not a problem. A good product for the price and it suits our need.

Great features, price level, sound level

I have seen this type of generator running concession stands and PA and timing equipment at outdoor sporting events and was impressed at low sound level. First couple of uses have been very satisfactory. It is still in the break-in period, so haven't put full load on it for any amount of time, but it will power my 5 eight foot double tube florescent light fixtures in my shop and a power saw at the same time. A different test it easily handled my angle grinder and drill at same time and would start my smaller air compressor, which I didn't expect. It will happily replace 90% of the need for my noisy 4000 watt over weight gas guzzler.

Easy setup

Added oil & gas, started right up after a couple pulls. Digital display tracks runtime - very helpful for maintenance. Looking forward to use during power outages & camping. Much quieter and more portable than my old generator, USB ports are a nice touch also. One person can move it around easily.

iGen2550DFc Portable Dual-Fuel Inverter Generator

Initially I purchased a larger Inverter Generator (130+ lbs), but quickly realized that I would be better served by having 2 smaller, portable units for my RV usage (43 lbs). Reasonable noise level. Also very helpful for home usage during power outages. Quite versatile and convenient. Can be carried back on my property to run equipment away from the house.

Saved our basement

August 8th we had record rainfall in Milwaukee. We had 8 inches of water in our basement because the power went out and we didn't have a generator. Purchased this generator, hooked it up, and it ran like a champ powering our sump to completely drain the basement in under two hours. Should of bought a generator sooner but I have one now, and it's very easy to use and quiet. Would recommend to anyone who wants to power the necessities during a power outage.

Nice generator

Just followed the manual to get it going. Started on first pull. I'm still in the break in period. But I was able to charge up my Ecoflow Delta 2 in a few hours - I set the charge rate to max out on the Ecoflow to 800 watts so I was below the 50% maximum load on the generator as suggested in the manual. I've got a couple of break in hours to go. But I've got plenty of devices I want to test during the break-in period. I'm going to put it on one the small Harbor Frieght dollies so I can wheel it out of the garage easier to run it once a month or so. This unit is lighter than most, but it's still on the heavy side for me to cart around all the time.
