The numerical keypad, which is used to set the time for microwaving/cooking, has already begun to show signs of wear, especially on the "0" keypad. I can only imagine what it will look like in six months, with holes where the keypad cover used to be. Purchased this microwave one month ago. (12/14/2025). I like for my microwave to look great as well as perform great. Unacceptable!

Excellent counter top microwave oven. Always had GE microwave ovens. Easy touch controls, new upgrade model with better display. You can disable child operation. White interior, with bright light, and not noisy. Will alert you when cooking is complete. You can also disarm beeping sound.

This is the second GE microwave I have purchased. I replaced the same model. The new ones door sounds like it is rubbing, so I am concerned it will develop issues later on. We use the microwave many times during the day and are very happy with the results.

The information book should not be in the microwave. does not explain how to use the child safety lock on the box anywhere. I found it by accident and was going crazy trying to figure out how to open it before that. You should tape the booklet to the top of the outside of the microwave.

I do like the features of this microwave, but I'm doubtful about quality control. I purchased this to replace a model JES2051SN5SS that failed after 18 months. I'm hoping this replacement model has better longevity, but I'm not optimistic after reading other reviews. I would have been willing to pay more for higher quality. Instead I purchased the extended warranty for the first time, assuming it will fail. Our first oven of the old model lasted 16 years, from 2008 to 2024. I would have looked for a different brand, but we have trim that matches our other appliances, so for now we're stuck unless we want to redo our cabinetry. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope.

We bought our first Microwave of this style in 2005 for the features. Lasted 13 years. Replaced with similar model in 2018, lasted 2 years. Had problems locating a like model and purchased a floor model in 2020. It just died. We opted to replace again with a similar model. We like the features and is a workhorse several times a day. Buttons are the same, same place, same functions, etc. Don't know the cause of failure, and during holiday cooking, can't wait for a service call. For features and operation, I'd rate a 5 star. Dropped the rating to 4 for decreasing reliability.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was the best substitute for my previous GE 2.1 cu. ft microwave. Works great and the sensor function heats pretty well. Controls are identical to previous model as is the power levels. Though it doesn’t have an optional trim kit, was able to engineer the setup to work, and now it looks like it always has been here in my home.

I love the quality of a GE microwave. In 47 years I have only owned 3 all GE. They really last. I do miss some of the features my previous one has though, such as multiple auto select options. All in all, I expect to get a good 10 years service out of this one. It is a great size, actually seems extra large inside and very powerful at 1200 watts.
