I bought this generator over a year ago, and didn't run it until about two weeks ago. I mostly use it to operate a Hobart 250-volt Mig welding machine. I use the propane feature, which supplies sufficient current to operate without hesitation. I really, really like this generator.

I purchased the 28,000 this season because it's one of the only portable generators capable of powering my entire property. I like that I can run the house off the 50amp outlet and run the well pump off the 30amp outlet at the same time.. without over working the machine. Now this is not a long term review, because I have not ran the machine longer than the break in period. But my unboxing, assembly and break in of what I received has been impressive. The packaging is proper, on a hand built wood platform, adequate for the massive size and weight. The assembly was simple and not full of unnecessary steps to get the generator ready. This is important, because maybe you need power immediately and don't want to fart around.. and I like that the machine came with a quality break in oil, looks like a Castrol product. The first start up was without issue. And for a 999cc engine, this thing is surprisingly quiet. So far I am very pleased. I have faith that the quality I feel in my hands, will be dependable when the power is out. Don't plan to lift this without 4 of your best men.. your gonna need an equipment hook.

Installed wheels, oil, & connected battery... Unit fired right off. Used continuously for two days (on propane), not one issue. Ran A/C, two refrigerators, computer, lights... Best investment I've made in a long time. Only drawback is it's made in Vietnam, not American made.

I was searching for a Capable Generator and the biggest concern was to have enough power to run enough lighting appliances and to have some level of comfort in my home during a disaster situation this generator was much more affordable than other whole home generators AND the fact that it is dual fuel is a huge bonus. In a disaster you don't know what fuel may be available. The Westinghouse name really turned my head to look seriously at this model.

We bought the WGen 12000DF to replace an older generator we had. It works amazing It does everything I can through at it. The packaging was fantastic It didn't have a scratch on. On top of all the features this generator has, having a remote to start and stop it makes it worth every penny.

I purchased this generator because it was large enough to run our house including our 5 ton AC system all on propane! It came packed really well and it fired right up. The less than 5% THD was another reason I purchased this generator. Very pleased.

I bought this generator as a backup for a possible power outage at our home. The generator seems very solidly built and should serve us well. I was particularly impressed by the dual fuel functionality, which will provide multiple options for use of either gas or propane. The only thing that I was surprised about was that the unit did not come with pneumatic tires which I had expected because of its heavy weight. My only hope is that the plastic tire/wheel (never-flat) combination will provide good service without cracking and breaking. Only time will tell about that feature.

I bought this on 8/26/2021, took about 3 weeks to arrive but well worth the wait. It came with everything needed to start it up except the fuel. I started it up today and will allow it to break in so I do not want to put too much of a load on it but will vary the load up to 4000 Watts for the first couple hours. I expected it to be much louder than it actually is, thank you for everyone that reviewed it and said it was very loud. I was pleasantly surprised that I could barely hear in inside the house. I have only ran it for about 30 minutes so far and time will tell but I'm super excited to have it.

Today 11/20/22 Eversource lines went down, this was the first time other than running generator and testing load on gasoline. I setup the LP tank that was just filled and started up the generator. It ran with a THD of roughly Less than 1% which 8s good. We had about 2,000 watts on continuous power use, however the refrigerator would start and cause a spike in THD from 60.4 Hz to + 60.8 which caused all my UPS systems to switch over. Once stabilized the UPS shut off. However about 2 hours into operation the engine idle down, Even though the low idle switch was off and caused severe power fluctuations. I immediately disconnect our 50 amp breaker but no change in engine speed. I checked the LP line and tank, no icing with about 80% of LP remaining. I then opened the fuel valve and the gasoline picked up engine speed a little bit the gas LP switch was still on LP, I switched to gasoline, no change, I then shut the LP tank off and the generator resumed full power. After the power outage ended 5 hours in I went back on line power, and disconnect the 50 amp generator breaker. With the fuel selector switch selected to gasoline I opened back up the LP tank which immediately choked the engine down. The is a severe problem with the fuel selector and LP service line in the generator. I need this fixed please ASAP as this is a life critical backup device.

These things are popular. It was only a few days after ordering this they were already out of stock. I got this to run the majority of my ~3500 sq ft house since power seems to go out enough I get concerned about food going bad. I bought this one specifically due to high power output and that it runs on natural gas. I needed to get my gas meter upgraded by my gas utility, then have a plumber hook the new meter up (homeowner not allowed to do this in my area). One thing I didn't easily find was the NG hose size for the WGEN14500Tfc, it is 3/4" and it came with a 25' 3/4" hose with quick connects. I also made a custom interlock for my main electrical panel and added a power inlet. I did fire it up on NG and test output but haven't hooked it up to the house yet. Very solid product, and heavy, but rolls easily with the wheels and handles.
