I bought this a month ago and have used it one time already. It was powerful enough to power my entire home minus one of two AC units. Though very large it is relatively easy to move and a great value. Generac generators were quoted at 3 times the cost of this device and this one can go with me if I ever move.

I bought this generator to power my house during the extended outages which plague the gulf coast during hurricane season. When supplying generator power through a 50amp inlet to a panel, the max input is 12k watts. Since I'm running on natural gas and the running wattage of this unit on natural gas is 11.6k, this is the perfectly sized unit for my needs. Assembly is easy, minus the "included" natural gas hose. Apparently, Westinghouse no longer ships the natural gas hose, although all of their literature says it's included.

THE BEAST IS WHAT THIS IS. ALL 432 LB'S OF HER. AFTER ATTACHING THE WHEELS AND MANEUVERING THIS THING OFF THE CRATE, IT WAS AN EASY PROCESS TO GET THE BEAST READY FOR FUTURE POWER GRID FAILURES. BOLTED ON THE LIFT BAR, FILLED THE CRANKCASE WITH THE 1.6L OF SUPPLIED OIL, CONNECTED THE BATTERY TERMINALS, ADDED SOME GAS, PAIRED THE REMOTE START FOB. THE BEAST STARTED ON THE SECOND TRY AND RAN WELL. I WILL ADD AS I READ QUESTIONS/ANSWERS ONLINE ABOUT THIS UNIT, I SAW NEW OWNERS SAY THAT AN OIL FILTER WAS NOT DESIGNED ON THIS TWIN MOTOR. I FOUND THE FILTER LOCATED FORWARD FROM THE MUFFLER ON THAT SIDE, LOWER SECTION OF THE MOTOR AN OIL FILTER RESIDES. THIS GENERATOR WILL GIVE MY FAMILY A GOOD SENSE OF SECURITY WHEN THE NEXT HURRICANE HIT MY AREA OF FLORIDA.

I bought this Westinghouse generator because it was a TRI Fuel type and had a twin V engine, remote start and with more power than I need. This generator should last a long time. Built very well. Easy to install. Directions were easy to follow. A well built machine.

I bought this for emergency power so I haven't used it yet. However, this came with everything you need to assemble it and get it ready for use. The instructions say you must remove it from the pallet to put on the wheels but that isn't true, I had no trouble putting them on still on the pallet.

I bought this generator a week ago with plans to setup powering our 3000sq ft home as a whole house generator. It didn’t disappoint! After several weeks of research and seeking references from those that own portable whole house generators I landed on the Westinghouse Tri Fuel 14500. I liked its flexibility of fuel sources and the setup plans I had included running off our home’s natural gas meter through a quick disconnect setup. This generator comes with both a natural gas hose and a hose with regulator for using LP gas. When the generator arrived my electrician was here installing an interlock switch in my home power distribution panel and 50amp weather rated receptacle outside. I quickly assembled the wheels and rubber feet on the generator and rolled it off the pallet. I had installed the quick connect to the gas meter that morning so everything was ready to go. Before starting the generator I followed the generator manual instructions, added oil, which it comes with, and connected the battery. Next was pairing the key fob . Once I had everything ready I connected it to the natural gas fuel source and started the generator. The generator started up with no issues. As the manual instructions confirmed the generator needed to be run for 5 hours under a light load to allow for break in of critical parts before handling heavy electrical loads. The break in time completed the day. The following day I conducted a power outage simulation. I hooked up the generator to the house through the 50amp locking receptacle with 50amp 25’ power cord. Fired up the generator and flipped the main breaker off on the home power distribution panel. This allowed me to slide the interlock device so I could flip on the 50 amp generator power breaker. I had also flipped off the 50,49 and 30 amp breakers. This was done to avoid placing too heavy of a load on the generator. The generator powered all of the 115 volt outlets and lights in the house with no problems. Next up was to test the generator powering our 5 ton AC with the lights and receptacles on. I flipped on the AC 50amp breaker and turned down the thermostat. The AC started and you could hear the generator grunt once and drop in running tone but know issues! The generator powered everything including the 5 ton AC unit at the same time! What a beast! Keep in mind, I did install a hard start kit on the AC before performing this test to lower the start up amp requirements from the AC compressor. I don’t think the generator would have powered the 5 ton AC without this modification.

We bought this a couple of months ago to be ready for the winter. Last year a lot of people lost power, and this year we will be ready. It has great features and it's portable which we really wanted. We haven't had to use the generator yet, but we are excited about our purchase. We have already recommended one to all of our friends.

The problem was my carburetor I had to taken apart and completely clean it out. After doing this it started up on the very first push of the remote button. A few people that I know had the same issue. Each of us did getthe generator by taken apart and cleaning the carburetor completely out.

I purchased March 18 2022, received March 31 2022, stored in garage until June 10 2022 for initial startup & run...followed all startup procedures. Then ran under moderate load for about 5-10 mins then it shut down. Ran again in an hour or so w/o any load and it shut down within 5-10 mins. I then called customer service.

This generator is definitely heavy duty and it will get the job done, whatever your power needs may be. Awesome to have the 50 amp option since I will be mostly using it as a backup power supply for my entire home. Shipping was fast and on time as advertised. I would definitely recommend this item.
