2nd time using the generator. I followed gasoline startup procedure, turned the fuel selector knob to allow for gasoline operation, fuel starts poring down into the engine and appears to be coming out in several places. Obviously I can’t use it now since it is a fire hazard. Very disappointed since it is only 2 months old.

Just received my new generator and it is packed with features, it was bought as a backup to the house for when we loose power for a extended period of time I do not look forward to what ever causes us to need it but I’m glad we have it and the dual fuel makes operating options even better.

Purchased generator in October they dropped in my driveway within a half hour from receiving I tried to start and starter was grinding against the flywheel I called Westinghouse no one answered phone so I left a message. Next day I received a email telling me a starter was on the way I asked who was installing they sent me a list of service places to bring it to mind you it’s 410lbs. I received the starter and replaced it my self and it was doing the same thing so I called Amex they got Westinghouse to replace the unit. The new unit they sent me is doing the exact same thing now I’m told it’s a warranty issue and they won’t take it back. I received it opened box and tried to start within a half an hour of receiving I didn’t have it for six months or a year. It never worked so how is it my problem if Westinghouse is selling defective generators.

I read a lot of reviews, but I went ahead and purchased this unit. It came to me with little instructions so I have to add a few of my own. You have to make sure you turn the battery switch on and off after usage or you’ll drain out the battery. You have to make sure You charge the battery. I would purchase Pennzoil 5W 30 synthetic oil in bulk and change it frequently. And most of all and most important put gas saver mixed with your gas, I recommend STA – BIL fuel stabilizer this will keep your gasoline stable for up to 24 months, but I would run it out and into your car after 12. Lastly, when you’re done using your generator, turn the gas off and let it run out of your carburetor, don’t leave gasoline laying around in your carburetor. It’s not a good idea. I’ve had several motorcycles mostly dirt bikes, and through the years, I’ve had to take them apart only to clean, clean, carburetors out and put them back together again because of the carburetors and jetting work …. Know what you know what you’re getting into basic concepts this is not hard stuff, but it will make your generator run the first time, run every time you need it and it will stay with you for life. This is a great great generator.

Do not buy this generator!!!!! It’s brand new out of the box trying to do first start up and won’t start . I spent a tun of money on this and you would think it would at least start by the 3rd attempt but nothing. Very disappointed and feel like I’ve been robbed money.

We live on Padre Island on the Texas coast and are susceptible to hurricanes. We have one small generator that will operate the refrigerator. We wanted one for the house so that we could live comfortably after a long period of electricity outage. Hope we never have to use this. But, we are prepared just in case.

This generator is not only the best investment we bought but now we have a piece of mind when our power goes out. We just went through Helena with a small generator that got us through but now with this beast we can power our whole house and not worry about overloading and cords running all over the house. We are getting this hooked up to the house so it will always be ready when needed. Thanks Westinghouse!! Btw runs like a dream and absolutely love that we can use gas or propane. Isn't very loud for how big it is.

We have three kids under 7 in Southeast Texas. Ever since the big freeze in 2021 we have had many extended outages from events like storms, derechoes, and hurricanes. We got by with a small generator but after soft start issues and multiple days over 100 degrees, we needed to upgrade to a more powerful generator and could not spend alot or justify a permanent backup generator. This 20kW SHOULD do what we need it to--power the big A/Cs and a majority of the house. We'll see as now I am waiting on an electrician to upgrade the receptacle from 30 amp to 50 amp. One thing to note is that this was delivered and left on a pallet. Getting the wheels on was not as bad as I thought but getting it off the pallet was a challenge. I do not own any pulley or lifting systems, so that kinda sucked. I am hoping this bad boy can handle keeping us functional. We just got back up and running after Hurricane Beryl--5 days no power. This Westinghouse 20kW was delivered AFTER we got power back...3 starts for not communicating how it would be delivered, missing washers for the wheels, and not having a chance for a trial. (Leaving this review gets me a Westinghouse 15ft powerstrip)

The registration WEB page asked me to give a review. I went to Bolton, Ontario to pickup my generator. I returned to Quebec without any problem. The WGen20000 is very heavy, with 580 pounds. The packaging is well done to protect it from scratches and debris on the road. It seems to be of good construction and placed on a very resistant steel frame with a good coat of resistant paint. In a month or two, I will be ready to make a review, when i will start the generator. I bought a Generac 200 Amp, Automatic Transfer Switch to use all the power from this 28000 Watt in peak power. I just ordered a Remote Monitor ATS Amf Generator Controller to monitor electric outage from Hydro-Quebec. It was more easy to install for whole house and more practical when I'm away. With this new controller, i will install all the sensors i need, to monitor this air cooled gas engine. I will see the engine temperature on each cylinder, the oil pressure, oil temperature, Engine revolution (RPM), Battery voltage, Alternator amperage, Hour meter for each electric outage, Oil change monitoring and some other engine failures ​

This is a plus/minus review. On the plus side, the generator pulls like a mule. It powers a 4 ton AC, freezer/fridge combo and a dozen LED lights without a problem. That is impressive. All on propane, which is the weaker of the two fuel options. On the minus side, I don't think the Westinghouse engineers ever took one of these gens out of the box and tried to start it. In no particular oder, the battery per factory hook up is backwards (see photo where I reversed Positive and Negative leads), the wheel placement interferes with the 220v plug (the wheel placement places way too much stain on the plug), the fuel selector is anything but straightforward, it is unclear from the quickstart manual about how much oil to put in. And my battery lost a cell during shipment. Westinghouse Support told me to go to a local auto parts store to get it replaced.
