I had to wash my dishes twice some 3 times, I thought I bought a different brand by mistake, but nope, the galon says Dawn. They have a new formula, it is no longer poten. You will need a lot more soap than before.That will be my last time purchasing it.

I'm so very disappointed in this Dawn product. I thought that since it was labeled as professional and for commercial use, that would mean it would work even better for everyday use. It does not. It doesn't suds well, and it doesn't clean as well as other Dawn products. I'm using so much more than I would normally use, but I am glad to be getting rid of it so I can go back to the better stuff.

I purchased this from SAMs because the other dawns that you get from the stores seem to not work as good, so I thought I would give this a try since it said professional. Wow! What a great choice. We have five kids ages 4-18 and we are constantly washing pots, and dishes. I purchased this in February and I am posting this review in July and we still have a little left so it lasted about five months and we sometimes wash dishes twice a day. #bestproductever

I have been buying Dawn for almost 20yrs and have always been pleased with their products, but this detergent is bad!! I have gone through 2 of these bottles in about 3 months. Why is that a problem? I am doing dishes for 1 person!!! This formula is worse than a generic brand. You need twice as much to get a good lather and it's not cutting the grease the way it used to. I started getting this version because I couldn't find the smaller bottles in stock.(people must be hoarding Dawn dish washing liquid along with toilet paper) I am completely disappointed.

The Dawn Professional 1 gal being sold now is not the same as sold in previous years. It is now a watered down version of what it once was a very good product. Paying the same price but getting less seems to be the new standard these days regardless of where we shop. Are the manufacturers acting alone or are the retailers leaning on the manufacturers to cut quality in order to costs. The consumer loses again.

I mainly bought this for the pump, hoping that it would be interchangeable for use with other product jugs later. It is!! That is great! This pump must be pulled upward to fill and then pressed downward to dispense soap. This is because it is a suction-style pump, much like a syringe, and contains no spring. I guess the benefit of such a thing is that there are no parts to break or go out. It seems like the pump should work for a good while after the jug is emptied, which makes me happy. Of course the soap inside cleans well, it's Dawn. Overall a good buy for me, and the disappointment I felt due to the lack of a spring within the pump mechanism subsided quickly.

I didn't notice it in the description, but just be aware that if you purchase with a shipping option, there will be no pump. The pump is only available in store. Of course I realized that the day after I took the container I had with the pump to the recycling center. It's also irritating that it's the same price whether they give you the pump or not. Shouldn't the price be less if they don't include the pump?
