I like the addition of new fruits and veggies, but it looks like more dried brewers yeast and caramel color were added. Why does my dog need food coloring in her food? Can we have the good veggies and fruits without the added colors and brewers yeast??

I have stuck with Iams from day one of getting my golden retriever. He started on large breed puppy and just switched to this kind. He loves it and I have heard so many good things about this brand for dogs. It has kept his weight healthy and his sensitive stomach at easy. Love this company!

It is the #1 priority to get them healthy and nourished. I have talked to Veterinarians and others who dealt with needy dogs...and Iams is the name at the top of their lists. The way I spoil my Fur-Kids is embarrassing, but when their life has not been the best from the beginning and they only need LOVE to bounce back, I DO rely on Iams, playtime, cuddling and unconditional love to show them I care. Thanks Iams!!

I'm not an expert on dog nutrition, but I did research before deciding to try Iams, and Iams is definitely one of the better dog foods you can buy without spending a fortune. I like that chicken is the first ingredient, although I'm not crazy about the use of corn as a filler. This dog food provides great overall nutrition, and my dog cleans her bowl every time. I feel like she's getting a good balance of nutrition without breaking the bank.

This is the 3rd bag of dog food from sams that has made my dog sick. 1st brand was revalled and discontinued so we switched to Iams. Thought we got a bad batch with the first Iams bag so we threw it out. Same issue with 2nd bag. Will no longer buy dog food from sams.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a very large German Shepherd, who is extremely picky about his food, so I wasn't sure what to expect when Iams gave me the chance to try out the Iams Proactive Health dog food for large breeds, on my dog but he LOVED it! He usually takes forever to eat all his food, but he gobbled this down in no time whatsoever. He likes it because it tastes yummy, but I like it because it's really good for him. It's full of chicken and good proteins and prebiotics that will keep him healthy and strong. I really recommend this Dog food for anyone who has a picky Eater or someone who cares about their pets health. Iams is a really great brand dedicated to keeping your pets healthy, by using ingredients that will keep them strong and active.

I’m happy to see chicken so far up on the ingredients and it makes me feel good about what I’m feeding my dog!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to see this come in the mail because our dogs have been eating the same dog food for a long time but I dont really know what to buy!! I thought it was great that the first ingredient was not corn for a change.. the dogs smelled the bag open, they came running and ate the whole bowl really fast. Usually they eat a bowl throughout the day and this time they ate it all at once.I was really surprised!! I am glad that I got to try it and I have since changed from our brand to IAMS Brand!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I received my 15 lb Iams Pro active health large breed dog food the other day. I was so overly excited to try this with my 3 year old Siberian Husky, named Kaine. He has alot of energy and is well, crazy at times. I decided to give him a big bowl of this food and some water when we woke up. Sad to say, he turned his nose up at it! I found this very strange considering that his first year he ate Iams puppy. I think maybe the smell of it just didn't hit it off with Kaine. The food is just brown shaped pieces, all the same texture and flavor, which is chicken. My dog usually is not all that picky with food, but I'm gonna trick him next time and mix it into another bag! I'll let you know how that one goes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free bag of ProActive Health Large Breed Dog Food from Iams. My two gentle giants love this stuff. I have a black lab, Great Dane, golden retriever mix who weighs in at about 130 pounds, as well as a chocolate lab who weighs probably about 70 pounds. They've both been eating this food for about 3 weeks now. One thing that I was concerned about was how a change in food would affect their bodies. I was prepared for diarrhea and lots of gas, but fortunately none of that happened. After about a week, I did notice that they weren't having bowel movements as much, but I was told that this is because they were eating a food with less fillers and that will inevitably happen. That was great for me, because they seemed to stay fuller for longer, and I was able to cut down on the amount I was feeding them. There were no problems at all with the switcheroo. From the first time they found this in their bowl, they munched it down like they'd been eating it forever. I decided to do a little experiment a few days ago and gave them their old dog food for breakfast. The chocolate lab hesitantly ate it, all the while giving me strange looks out of the corner of his eye. The lab/dane/golden mix flat out refused to eat. We're talking about a dog who loves to eat dirty socks and tootsie rolls from the cat litter box, so I certainly wouldn't describe him as a finicky eater. However, he would not take a single kibble of the old food. I finally gave in and gave him his Iams, and he ate without any problems. I think the wagging tail in the picture says it all. Feeding my dogs Iams makes me feel like I'm doing something special for them. I know that they're getting the essential nutrients they need to maintain their healthy large bodies. Knowing that large dogs tend to have shorter life spans than small dogs makes it even more important to me to know that they're eating a nutritious food.
