[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Within a few minutes of operating, the engine pitched increased radically and it stopped sucking up water. Then there was a huge water leak out of the back of the machine when the handle was put in the upright position. Finally, the seal on the dirty water tank failed and it allowed dirty water to drain out the bottom when I went to empty it into the sink. The carry handle screw was also missing. Terrible manufacturing quality control for the top of the line product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't realize that the beater brushes kept turning while you used the hand tools until I smelled the burning. I'd been trying to clean my couch and had to go over one cushion repeatedly. When I smelled the burning I moved the cleaner but it was stuck to the melted fibers of my carpet. This was a VERY expensive carpet cleaner.

I can't believe I have waited so long to get this. My 8 month old lab puppy has gone through two rounds of giardia which created some awful messes in the basement when he was too sick to get outside in time and he tends to like to roll in the mud anyway, so tracks in dirt constantly. My carpet has definitely taken a beating in the last couple months. My carpet is a bit light in color and didn't think a home carpet cleaner could do the trick, but finally got to the point where I was desperate. I just did my whole house and I can't believe it got all the stains out of the carpet. And now I don't have to wait until I can get the carpet cleaner to come or go rent something--I can just tackle the messes as they occur. If you have a dog, please don't wait as long as I did to save yourself! It is worth the money! It's a good size, not too much bulkier than a normal vacuum. I found if you follow the guidelines and go slowly with your passes you get the best results. The dirty water canister does fill up fairly quickly if you are in deep clean mode. I switch back and forth between modes as the quick clean mode definitely gives you more time before you have to empty the dirty water. If you have the clean water tank full and need to carry it around, you will find its a bit heavy so if you can move it to the floor you want to clean and then fill it, that is a little easier.

I have laminate floors in living room with a large area rug that really needed to be cleaned. I have 3 cats that leave a lot of hair and cough up hairballs. This machine is amazing, so easy to use AND clean. Even after a good vacuum using my Dyson Animal, this machine extracted a LOT of imbedded hair and the strong suction left the fibers just damp, can't believe how dry it was. That was on the 'deep clean' mode, there's also an 'express clean' mode that allows you to clean in the room on your hardwood or laminate floors and won't soak through at all. So glad I know longer have to pay near $100.00 to have a company come out and often times leave the rugs and furniture soaking wet. It has a nice attachment that puts that dirty water in a small 1 cup size container instead of in the large container, much easier to clean out for small jobs. I no longer have carpeted stairs, but it has a nice attachment for them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worst carpet cleaner EVER! Soap/water dispenser pots out as fast as it is filled, collection container won't stay connected and rollers don't roll. I always bought Hoover and was MEVER disappointed! I only bought it because of all the good things I heard and that it helped the animals! I have only used it twice and I now have to go buy another one. Too expensive to break so easily. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this machine to replace one that was starting to see it's last days.I couldn't be happier ,right out of the box it was easy to set up and the instructions were very clear concise and easy to follow. It did a real cleaning number on my household carpeting. No more pet tracks and it really deep cleaned up my aging carpets to a decent shape and color. The one drawback is that the dirty water tank fills up fast and the protection ball stops suction fast but I can live with it as it doesn't cause an overfill so it's still a plus in one sort of way. But overall I am pleased to the max!!!

We purchased this new unit right after we brought home our new puppy. Our old cleaner had died and we decided to get a new, modern unit. The unit is easy to use and simple to put together. The things we like the most was the convenient clean water refill and dirty water tanks and the ease of use. It was really easy to refill and drain. The cons were that we had to refill and drain a lot when following the directions for a thorough cleaning. Many trips back and forth for "normal" size (12x12) rooms. The unit seemed to clean well and left the floor looking and smelling fresh. It worked for what we needed it and we have been using it for accidents as well. Good unit for a moderate size home.

My home has both wall to wall and area carpets. Machine cleans both, well. Very happy with purchase. I was hesitant to spend the money but the convenience is awesome! Also, reaction to pet accidents totally changes - its not a major upset because I know I can throughly clean the carpets when its convenient for me. Easy to clean machine after use. It comes apart easily. I especially like the separate tanks for clean and dirty water.

I love this carpet cleaner! I've tried using rentals before and it just can't compare to how well the bissel proheat 2x works! I have 2 kids under the age of 5, plus a large dog so you can just imagine the havoc they wreak on my carpet. But the machine did what it needed to do and erased about 2 years of dirt and stains from my carpet. The only con I have is that I have to refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water tank several times to clean my living/dining area. However, this is not a deal breaker for me because it really did clean my carpet so well and I'm still happy.

We have had dog stains for a while now, 6 or more months, with the intention of getting a Bissell, but not the funds. We got this as a gift, and used it the very next day. It got all the stains out! And was super easy to use! My St. Bernard loves to play outside, so I think I'll be using the carpet cleaner a lot. Super easy to use and clean, so bring it, dog. (Don't tell her I said that)
