I used this on my carpet for the first time the day after I bought it, my cat vomited on the carpet and it was a mess. Used the solution that it came with and hot water and it cleaned it up like it never happened. I'm very happy with my purchase. I bought this to replace a 10 year old Bissell carpet shampooer. This one is lighter than my old one so is easier to get up and down the basement stairs. I like that there are 2 different tanks.

Worked great when I first received it, then I went to use it again a week later, it drained all the water out on areas of the carpet and wouldn't suck it back up. I had every area of the shampooer clear of dirty and hair but it still made the pop and never put anything except an inch of dirty water out of a gallon back into the bucket.

Made a positive, noticeable impact on the appearance of my carpeting. I didn't know how dirty my carpeting was until I went through the condo with this Model 1986. I've got one dog, and live in a dirty, urban environment with the both of us tracking dirt in all the time. My once-a-week cleaning person noticed immediately that the carpeting looked much cleaner, and the improvement is tangible. Using the product was easy, and clean-up was easy and well thought-out. Good product, with various after-market cleaning detergent options to use. Glad I picked-up one of these "Pet Pro" carpet cleaners.

This is the third Bissell we own and each and every time I swear that I will never buy another. Keep thinking they have to get better! But No they don't! This machine leaves behind soapy water that your constantly having to go back over! It's a never-ending battle and when you turn it off it leaves a puddle of nasty water on the floor. The tank is seated correctly and No matter how much you clean the cleaner it still does it. Useless!

So we have 2 Dogs and used to have 2 cats (they were just rehomed due to my severe allergic reactions) but for the 2 years I have lived in my fiances home I could never put my bear feet on the carpet. After finding the cats a new loving home I spend 3 hours cleaning our living room carpet. And man let me tell you those were some dirty cat hair filled carpet (I know because of the hair color) and doing a total of 6 passes in all directions (I wanted to make sure the carpet was very clean) I can now walk barefoot on our carpet! I have never been happier with a product.

I've now used this carpet cleaner for 3 months. It's by far the best carpet cleaner I've ever owned. This is the first carpet cleaner that has no flaws! Bissell has designed a cleaner which can be easily disassembled for a thorough cleaning. You can actually remove all the pet hair that has stuck to the various machine parts. I did alter the directions for cleaning the rollers and the bottom of the unit. As the unit is so light-weight, I just lifted the machine up and suspended it above the kitchen sink. I used the sink sprayer to clean the rollers, underside and other areas in which pet hair was stuck. Once reassembled, the cleaner looked brand new. How does it perform? Wonderfully! It really sucks the dirt from the carpet and then it sucks up the water so well that the carpet dries in a reasonable amount of time. You can't go wrong with this machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the vacuum a month ago as I have two puppies that have occasional accidents and bring mud onto the cream carpet. The vacuum worked great for the first few times I used it (highly recommend running just water after solution). The only annoyance I had was the fact that water would drip out of the front while off and returning it to the closet. I just ordered the stand to allow me to clean the brushes more efficiently and to not require the vacuum to sit on a towel after use. Unfortunately today, I was using my vacuum and noticed a consistent leak from the top (clean water) portion of the vacuum. If this vacuum was heavily used and more than a few years old I wouldn't be mad that I have to open it up to fix a small leak; however, the vacuum is just over 45 days old and barely used. The reliability doesn't match the price and quality I expect from a respectable company like Bissell. Also, don't recycle your box as you need it for returns

We purchased this new unit right after we brought home our new puppy. Our old cleaner had died and we decided to get a new, modern unit. The unit is easy to use and simple to put together. The things we like the most was the convenient clean water refill and dirty water tanks and the ease of use. It was really easy to refill and drain. The cons were that we had to refill and drain a lot when following the directions for a thorough cleaning. Many trips back and forth for "normal" size (12x12) rooms. The unit seemed to clean well and left the floor looking and smelling fresh. It worked for what we needed it and we have been using it for accidents as well. Good unit for a moderate size home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved this when I bought it last year until the belt broke. I've only used it four times and had to replace the belt twice. Now it doesn't work like it did. Was just using it and the belt broke again. Very frustrating!

Wow! I don't normally write reviews but I was soooo impressed with this cleaner I had to share! I've had another Bissels in the past but this is the best cleaner I've ever owned. I had a couple of stains on my carpets from pets and it cleaned them like a champ! It was powerful. great suction and loved the dual bristles!! It also left the carpets fairly dry! Other cleaners I had took so long to dry and seemed sopping wet after. With this, barely wet at all! I would definitely recommend...and already told several friends about it!
