Learning a good sequence for cleaning the machine after use was not clear in the instructions. Nor was there any mention in the instructions that one should double check the tightness of the ring on the bottom of the dirty water tank before use. I didn't, assuming it came from the factory tight. Imagine my surprise when the dirty water drained out on the floor while I was refilling the clean water tank. so, the machine is great, the instructions could be more thorough for dummies like me.

We have a 7 month old Doberman who brings in a lot of dirt, so I chose the heavy cleaning setting. It was easy to use, did a great job and dried much faster than it said in the instructions. This is my second Bessel carpet shampooer and I'm very happy with this brand. The new model has some very nice, new features. The tanks are easy to fill and empty, the spot treatment button is helpful and I like the cleaning tool now included.

Chose the Bissell because of the double carpet brushes. What a great job. Between the shampooer and the right product, my 20-year-old carpet looks and smells great. May I add it has been through a number of puppies and rescue dogs? I also appreciate your customer service. Best I have had for a long time. Like the good old days when companies appreciated customers. Customer service goes above an beond.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very happy with this purchase. When the cleaner first arrived I used it within the first few days and cleaned all of my carpet. I was very surprised as to how clean the carpet got with just one pass. It is very easy to use and for the most part is not strenuous. It's just like vacuuming. If I were to make any changes to the machine I would do the following: I would have a heating element in the machine to keep the water at the desired temperature while being used. When using the hand attachment, I would also disable the brush/vacuum on the main unit when the hand attachment is plugged in. Lastly, I would make the electrical cord a little longer by about 5 feet. In all, I would purchase this machine again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always paid someone to come clean my carpets in the past, but when my elderly dog became a more of a... challenge... I needed the ability to clean my carpets at a moments notice. I should have bought this YEARS ago! For the cost of one professional service, I can now clean my carpets as often as I want, and the results were really quite impressive! The good: carpets look great. I pretreated pet stains (including blood) and they all came out! I really like that the water stays heated/hot for improved cleaning and faster drying. I love having all the attachments. The machine was much easier to use than it appears at first read of the manual. The negatives: the tanks are a bit small, but totally doable for my home. The main roller bar continues to turn when furniture attachments are used which could be an issue for some, but I have tile under my couch and chairs, so no problems. The carpet was a bit 'crunchy' after it dried but honestly can't blame the machine... I had spot cleaned so many areas before buying this that I know there was plenty of cleaner residue in the carpets already. Next time I'll go over it again with clean water to pull out any remaining residue. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised! If you've got pets and/or grandkids like me, this is a definite YES

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the carpet cleaner due to having pets. It is a bit of a challenge to do the fabric and maybe not intended to use on cough upholstery. Additionally, my daughter put in the handle and it broke when she tried to remove it and the plastic clean water container bent easily when she didn't slide it into place correctly. It is a bit hard to clean the front if something gets stuck inside. When actually using the product on the carpet, it worked amazing and we could see all the dirt it was picking up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and am currently fostering 4 kittens for a local rescue. It's needless to say my carpet cleaner gets a workout! I love this cleaner for getting spills & pet stains out of our pale gray carpet. It scrubs the carpet clean easily but it does seem to take the carpet a while to dry. While it is loud, it's not as bad as some reviews were saying because it's not a high pitch, just a well made machine with a strong motor sound. I expect this machine to last a long time.

Sadly my 2 senior dogs started suffering from incontinence and the carpets were no longer in good shape despite using a rental model. 2 years later enter new pup, over 100 lbs of pure energy and running through the house after being in the rain, snow, anything! You can only get so much off his paws at the door with a towel. I bought this machine with hopes that it would at least help with some of the dirt, anything to make the carpets look a little better. I did NOT expect it to work as well as it did! Literally 2 swipes in the deep cleaning mode and the carpet looked new again!!! Eventually the water it was drawing back up was clear. Several people have commented that they look 3 shades lighter!!!! I definitely agree and would buy one for every member of my family that has pets or kids!
