- 5 out of 5 stars review8/5/2021This is one of the best purchases I've made. Worth every penny. I've used this every day since I have gotten it. I cannot wait until I can host a party and show off this beauty. The ice is a real pleasure. When I ordered it, I felt like I didn't need the side tank but now having used the machine I can't imagine not having it. It makes a real difference. Don't hesitate. Just make the purchase - you won't regret it.

No worries we figured out that the side tank was not level and all is well now (Whew). The only reason it does not get 5 STAR is due to the I swine price and the fact that it does make noises that irritate me especially after cleaning cycles. I have owned one other brand and this one is by far the BEST CHOICE! Especially with our Texas heat.

Our little make has produced ice like a champ. My only complaint, if you can call it one, is it was awkward under kitchen cabinet. Our solution was to move it to wet bar.

My two hiccups for it would be the price, it's very expensive, and the it doesn't have a holder for the scoop. We just have it sit on top of the machine. It would be nice if it had a slot on the side to slip it into.

Now I don’t have to search for places with that ice in their drinks as I have my own crunchable ice maker. It’s an unbelievable product: quiet, fast icemaking and the bin stays full all day. Best of all, my family enjoys the availability of ice that seems to keep tea and soft drinks colder than cubes.

For a high end GE product could be more seamless, certain aspects are cheap and does not fit properly (base for side tank). Manual for product is useless, you will figure it all with trial and error. The ice “bucket” drips condensation on your counter or tray every time you pull it out. Be aware of the size of this thing as in a small kitchen, it would take up a large amount of counter space. The side reservoir, can help you go almost a month on one refill. The app allows you to schedule times to make ice. And ice is coming out about 10 minutes after you start it. And the ice bin can be full in about 3 hours. That is 3 lbs of awesome ice. Setup can be awkward if you go by the instructions, so go find a YouTube video and it is easy. Enjoy your beverages with your favorite ice. You will be glad you got this.

For a family of 3, this seemed like the best solution. So far, so good! This makes that great soft ice like you get at Sonic so that's a bonus. The only knock is the machine is a tad noisy. Not a big deal when there's allot going on in the house, but when we're relaxing on the couch, it's a bit loud. Love the compact size too! Doesn't eat up allot of counter space.

T... - 5 out of 5 stars review8/30/2022We've had 4 countertop icemakers over the past 4-5 years. They've all been disappointing as they had sporadic problem and eventually failed. Luckily, we had the extended warranty and they were replaced or our $$ was refunded. THIS GE however, has been a pleasant surprise! It makes ice at a pretty good pace, it's quiet and the side tank is a GREAT feature! You can easily see when it needs water and it's a snap to add! Once in a while it does "squeal" for a minute when it's drawing water from the tak, but that's very brief. Overall, this has been a great machine so far and I'd definitely buy it again!

I highly recommend to add on the reservoir tank so you don’t have to refill the water as much. I did have one issue where the reservoir wasn’t drawing the water into the machine but it once I adjusted the water line hose to be more horizontal (as the troubleshooting guide recommended) it began working just fine again. If you are a fan of the nugget ice, you need this machine!

You won't run out of ice ever! The ice is smaller than the "good ice" but it is still like it. I have this machine on day and night (my daughter loves to eat ice). I like to have gatherings and it is perfect when making drinks. You have the option to purchase a filter for it. If you do, make sure that the filter is on correctly or the machine will not make ice. You will have to fidget with the filter until it starts to make the ice. There are also times when I refill the water tank and the "add water" lights up. I just open and close the ice drawer and it starts to make ice. It does make noise but it's not unbearable. I will definitely purch...

I was a little hesitant to buy after reading negative reviews about reliability, noisy operation, connectivity, etc, but so far we’ve had none of those issues. We’ve just nothing but distilled water and there has been little or no scale buildup. One gallon of water will last the two of us about 6-7 days, and we use it every day. We love the chewable ice and having good clear ice for our drinks. Haven’t used our refrigerator ice maker since getting this set up.

I foolishly guessed I should use the Opal app but I eventually learned from reading a blog about something else that the Opal app is only for blue tooth. The correct app is called SmartHQ. The app is helpful as you can set a schedule and it tells you when the ice maker needs ...
