We love this ice maker. It runs 24/7 never any problem with it. Only thing is I wish I would have kept the manual that come with it I didn’t think I’d need it but you really do.

Machine was easy to setup with good instructions. WiFi feature is really nice to see status of the machine and turn it on and off remotely. The machine has a smaller footprint and the side tank can be moved to either side of the machine. Having the side tank is a wonderful addition to provide extra ice making capacity. The ice made is firm yet can easily be eaten.

I thought I didn’t like ice in my drinks until I installed this for my family. Now I’m obsessed with ice in my water and other drinks. This machine makes ice fast and rebounds quickly. My only complaint is it’s a little loud so just be aware that if that bothers you then you might want to find a space for it more hidden. But the sound is constant and more like a fan. So it’s not annoying. Just a moderately loud fan noise. But the quality of the ice is amazing.

I recently purchased the GE Profile™ Opal™ 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker with Side Tank, and I’m very impressed with its performance. The installation was straightforward, and the machine was up and running quickly. The capacity of the side tank allows it to produce a generous amount of ice without frequent refilling. I also appreciate that, despite its production power, the unit operates with minimal noise, making it suitable for use in our kitchen without being disruptive. Finally, the compact size fits perfectly on our countertop while still delivering plenty of that soft, chewable nugget ice we love.

This is our third GE profile pellet icemaker. All but one has worked well. This one was purchased July 2024, now it is making a terrible squeaking noise when it is running and making ice.

Great at making small ice pellets but every machine we have gotten (this is #3) have made loud grinding sounds a few months after buying it. It does not stop the grind effectiveness of making the ice but the very loud nice if just very annoying.

I love the ice it makes but there are serious design flaws. I am on my 2nd machine in about 3 years. Between the water pump losing its prime , the squeaking and now the grinding noises I fear my machine has chewed up the plastic gear. I have cleaned the machine faithfully every 3 weeks alternating between vinegar and opal cleaning solution. My first one was replaced by GE because it stopped pumping water. I will see if they will stand behind this one.
