- 3 out of 5 stars review11/2/2022The power button on the front is easily hit and turns it off. The ice constantly melts because it’s not refrigerated. Since it’s always melting the lower ice is wet and waters down drinks. I mainly use it for water so it’s fine. But I wanted to for dranky dranks. It makes ice fast but if you’re filling up a larger yeti cup it doesn’t make enough for two. I do love that it’s munchable ice. It’s a lot better than the standard cheap counter top ice makers. But in my opinion it’s not worth the extra hundreds of dollars yet.
Ice melts constantly.

I have performed the cleaning cycle and also started a weekly routing but this definitely has been cumbersome just the maintenance alone. Without the sound and all the maintenance this would easily be a 5 star rating.

I've had this machine for the past few weeks now and it has been great for me and cooling down here in the Southern heat! I was getting tired having to fill ice trays and storage buckets with water and ice over and over again so I decided to splurge on this. This machine makes ice so quickly and that lasts so long! It's really made my beverages outside of just water a lot more enjoyable. It's aided by an app if you decide to use it which allows you to schedule ice making which is neat. I do wish the lighting inside was a bit better to see if the machine is dirty or if the bulb was changed to something that could kill bacteria.

Connecting the WiFi was very easy which lets me control when I want to have ice made. It is reasonably quiet and looks sharp on the counter top. This does not have a freezer to store the ice like a refrigerator ice maker, but most counter icemakers don't. The unused ice will melt back into the reservoir and be used to make ice once again when you are ready. I recommend this product if you want an appliance that makes quality ice head and shoulders above a fridge ice maker. Plus this is the good nugget style ice. Amazing stuff!

At each start up I run through the bleach water mix and rinse. Don’t want any bacteria issues. We'll see how it goes for the summer. Only in use for a month. Ice production is good so far. No noise issues that I’ve read in other reviews, but ours is in a laundry room away from living area.

It is not bad to clean, worth the 30 minutes once every week or two for the enjoyment of the product. My husband loves ice and his dentist is happier for the soft pellets.

Add tsp of bleach and required cups of water and let the system flush and repeat with just water to clear out any residue chemical. I find that if you are near the sink for the initial sanitizing it makes it easier to flush out the liquid. Now once sanitizing is complete, place the ice maker to the end state location. Fill the water reservoir (side of machine) with clean water. I use Reverse Osmosis (RO) water to produce clean tasting ice. I reckon this would cut down with any mineral buildup as well. The pieces are small, sligtly crunchy and stand up well in drinks before melting. This is not the bullet cubes.. Its takes about an hour which is ample time to generate ice for a small household. The machine is quite. Its not cheap in quality or price. I like it and grab a cup o ice every time I pass it by.

The only thing that I don’t love is the amount of water that drips out of it when you pull the ice storage box out to scoop the ice. The tray does catch the water, but I would prefer that it not leak out at all. Other than that though, this was worth every penny!

It’s a great machine that is quiet, beautiful to look at and makes ice quickly. Instructions are easily for set up too. I use bottled water on the second refill and it’s even better. I love this ice machine. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone that loves Sonic Ice.

It is 5 stars in my book, and it is the best on the market. Although I may be nitpicking, there are a few improvements that keep it from achieving perfection. CONS: 1. It is a high maintenance machine. The manual suggests that you clean it once per week. Nobody really has time for that. It is more of a tedious process than strenuous one, since the machine has a (somewhat) automatic clean cycle. However, this requires a great deal of clean water to rinse and seems wasteful. 2. Nearly Perfect Ice Maker

I have missed this ice around the house since then, so I bought the 2.0 version and I couldn't be happier. It's quiet, stylish, makes great ice, and the addition of the side tank is a great bonus.

I couldn’t believe that just 20 minutes after filling the water tank we had ice. The only down side I’ve found is that the ice bucket collected condensation and dripped when opened. I think if it was better insulated this wouldn’t be such a problem. I needed to turn it off and empty when not using the ice regularly.

So we did some research and made the investment to get this amazing ice maker . It looks great on the counter & is always full of ice as long as your adding water to the tank every other day.

Pros: amazzzzing ice, fits on counter top easily, LOVE the additional water tank, refills rather quickly, I like that it essentially recycles the water of older ice that wasn't used Cons: a little noisy- there is some vibration from the back of the unit that can be silenced with tapping it lightly- but it is a small frustration, ice closest to the bottom is harder- but that was expected of me- I like the softer chewy ice- so overnight sometimes the ice on top isn't as soft as I would like... not a complaint- just an observation
