This is my second Birdfy bird feeder. The first one was plastic and eventually broke. So, I “upgraded” to this solar metal birdfeeder. Having owned a Birdfy bird feeder previously, I am familiar with how their product works. I have deleted their app countless times and reinstalled it. I currently have the most recent version. I have added and deleted the birdfeeder camera itself dozens of times. The birdfeeder camera connects to Wi-Fi with no problem, but will not allow a live feed or software updates. My signal strength shows “perfect” in their app. Birdfy has virtually zero customer service support. I have been calling the customer service number for two weeks. They have a recorded message saying that no one is available! When you get on the live chat within the app, it’s difficult to do anything because you’re on a live chat. The live chat repeatedly tries to get you on Wi-Fi. My problem is not getting on Wi-Fi. Needless to say, it has been a horrible experience and a waste of countless hours. I will be returning my bird feeder as Birdfy does not offer any form of decent customer service to help customers like me resolve problems with their products.

When we bough lt this, the company had failed to renew their domain. Everything was down for days. Couldn’t register it. How do you forget to do that? I tried to call during their business hours and the recording said they were not available. Once they got back up and running, the camera would lose connection often. The only light that showed was the res atatus one that shows it was charging. After that, the light never indicated anything. And it’s hard to know if it’s on or off. The chimes are different but there is no documentation about it. Over all it was a very frustrating experience and I returned it. Not worth the hassle at all. They need to step their game up.

I’ve flown airplanes at night in thunderstorms by myself but I can’t get this bird feeder to “fly” in regard to getting it to interface with our WiFi. It is fully charged, less than 4 feet from the router and WiFi and all it does is make annoying sounds when attempting to connect. I’m returning it only hours after purchase for a refund.

Giving it as a Christmas gift!!

It worked for the first day. I noticed on day 2 I was not getting pictures. From the app, the device was missing. I attempted to add the device with success. I tried to call support. I was given a message that all associates were busy and I should call at a different time. I just tried calling again. My call was routed to China and I was told by a recording that international call rates would apply. I’m returning my Father’s Day gift.

Overall, this is a fun, low-maintenance way to enjoy backyard birdwatching. If you’re thinking about a smart feeder and want durability plus lifetime AI without extra fees, I highly recommend grabbing this one. Would buy again!

Great Feeder, the new hit of the hot bird summer! The metal style will not disappoint. I was initially worried the metal would get too hot for birds to want to come to the feeder, but I was wrong. This appears to be more durable than the plastic version and does not seem to have any downside, while the older plastic models can snap and wear out over time. If you are on the fence, definitely get this metal feeder; you will not be disappointed!

My first one got some moisture stuck in the camera within a month. I cleaned it, and then I brought it inside for 24 hours. It was still there. So, we returned it and bought another one. Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again, because we love it so much.
