Right off the bat, this stick vacuum is not cheap but it backs itself up with powerful suction, flexibility, and all around convenience. The top features I love is the auto emptying charging stand, the dirt illuminating "headlights", and the near 90° bend it gives you for going under furniture. This vacuum has several auto sensing features which gives it a nice edge over other standard stick vacs. It senses when you're vacuuming next to a wall and auto increases it's suction to get things right up against the base of the wall. It auto detects when you transition from hardwood to carpet and engages additional suction as well as another brush for carpets. I mean the carpet mode really puts it in competition with many wired standing vacuums. And lastly, something of note for the autosensing features is the dirt notification lights. There are two lights that glow more and more purple the more dirt it senses it's picking up. Helps let you know to focus more in this space even if you don't see the dust or dirt. The auto emptying charging base is fantastic convenience. Anytime someone grabs the vac, we know it's already fully charged, empty and ready to go. The base hold quite a lot and has an airfreshener built in, so you don't get that dusty smell when it cycles its clean out of the stick vac. Overall, if you are looking for a stick vac that is powerful, gives a lot of convenience, and want something to have for years to come, this right here is peak!

I had such high hopes for this vacuum. Overheats and stops working most of the times I use it. Only had a few months and isn't even our main vacuum so its inability to spot vacuum without needing to go through a host of cleaning, checking for clogs (of which there never are), is beyond frustrating. Our house has hardwood, flagstone, and rugs and it craps out equally on all surfaces. Waste of money.

Been using for a year. It is adequate for most routine cleaning but leaves a lot to be desired. Powerdetect is laggy in best conditions, and non functional in others, requiring reset. Suction is generally fine, but requires more than one run over hardwood to get anything granular. Battery life does not last long enough to clean an entire floor without needing recharge. Flex elbow is nice as is the self empty base. I usually default to an older, more effective (and cheaper) model to finish the job, which is disappointing given how excited I was for this model.

The suction is amazing, run time is great, have not run out of battery yet while vacuuming our office. Love the auto empty function. It is a bit louder than I thought it should be, it almost sounds like a chainsaw, not that loud, but that type of sound.

So far so good. This was a recent purchase to replace my old Dyson cordless. I'm loving this so far. I have been able to vacuum my whole house without it dying. It handles both carpet and hardwood well. It cleans great, and the bendable arm is amazing for getting under furniture. I'm also loving not having to dump the bin every five seconds. I have two golden retrievers, and its capacity is blowing me away.

I used it for the first time the other day and it did not disappoint. I have 3 Shark products and love them all. I needed a new vacuum cleaner and got it in my mind to try another brand that got great reviews. It did not compare to the Shark products and after digging a little deeper I found many not so great reviews on the Miwa vacuum cleaner. I used it 2 times, and then made another purchase. ANOTHER SHARK!! I will never buy any other brand of vacuum other than a Shark again!!

I run a dog rescue, I wish companies would use us to test their products as I go through vacuums like eggs. I currently have 5 in my house! I vacuum 3-5 times a day. I hate the price of this vacuum but it works. I have the same in corded and really don't Like it. The dirt cup fills so fast seems I spend as much time emptying as vacuuming. I love this one empties into a reservoir and cuts down the time I waste emptying several times a day. The vacuum has good suction so far. Hope it lasts. So far so good!

I bought this a while back but had some trouble with the duo clean. I contacted shark honestly just to let them know I was having some trouble and they immediately jumped on the issue and took care of it immediately. I have owned 2 shark lift away vacuums, this piwerdetect and have bought my kids a shark. We love our shark vacuums!

I really wanted to love the Shark Power Detect vac. The auto-empty base was my favorite feature, the suction was great, and mine didn't die after 30 minutes like some other reviewers experienced. Unfortunately, it developed multiple issues that made it unusable. The roller brush will not stay securely in place and repeatedly falls out while vacuuming. Then the dust-bin door began sticking, preventing the vacuum from emptying the dirt and debris into the auto-empty base. That completely defeats the purpose of one of the vacuum's best features and leaves you dealing with the gross mess yourself. When it works, this is a great vacuum, but these are unacceptable design and durability problems for something at this price. I would not recommend.

We had an older model of this vacuum and it stopped running after less than a year. We contacted aupport and they sent us at no charge the newest model and it works SO MUCH BETTER. We have cats and it picks up litter effortlessly where the older model did not. Can't say enough how much we love this vacuum and appreciate that Shark stands behind their products to the extent they would not just replace but upgrade when we had an issue.
