While this vacuum does indeed have good suction, I am so disappointed with it in almost every other way. The motor head is not high enough off the ground and does not steer well at all - I think it only has 2 functional wheels? Because it is so low to the ground, as other reviews have said it flat out does not work on area rugs (even on the ECO setting) because it just sucks right to the rug and doesn't pick up anything. I am relatively young and fit and can barely push it along my rug. I though the other reviews were exaggerating this - they are not. I have two long haired dogs - there is still hair wrap on the rollers, which I expected and am fine with, however more often than not, the "clean and empty" function does not work because the hair in the vacuum cannister is stuck. So I still have to manually empty it rendering the clean and empty part useless. Which lead to another thing - opening the filter/cannister compartment of this thing is so unnatural and difficult to do. I have had a couple other shark vacuums (corded and cordless) and they were always so intuitive to take apart. Not this thing. -Last couple issues: the 'detect' function is slow to react to the level of dirt present, and I've never seen it react any differently along edges as advertised. I also have a tough time just putting the vacuum on the clean/empty station - it's awkward and the heavy weight of the vacuum makes it tougher to lift. Overall very disappointed. I usually am a fan of Shark products and was very excited to treat myself to this "upgrade." I would return it if I hadn't prematurely thrown out the box.

The Shark Cordless Power Detect vacuum has been a wonderful help in managing the dog hair and dirt in our home. With two dogs, a husky and shepherd, shedding year round, and the impact of having a wood burning fireplace and stove in our home, the dust, wood fragments and hair overwhelms. This has been a great solution to stay on top of the problems daily. The appreciate all its features, but the duration of operation at the highest setting is limiting. Overall very happy with this purchase and it arrived in what I would say was an environmentally considerate way, minimal plastic. We are considering obtaining additional Ninja/Shark products.

The vacum is as advertised, it's brand new so I can't speak to longevity. Works amazing, it pulls me on the carpet and does a fantastic job, wood floors great also. Sucks the dirt out haha with no dust etc, I really like this shark better than my old one.

Haven't had this unit long but so far we are very happy with its performance both on carpet and wood floor. Really like the side wall pull feature when travelling along the cupboards in the kitchen. I hope we continue to see decent battery life, that would be the best.

It seemed nice and I love the idea of it but unfortunately, the vacuum was only used 1.5 for a small living room area before it seized. It smelled of something burning so I didn't get to finish the other 0.5. My boyfriend had to spend 45 min delicately removing the dog hair that had wrapped itself all around and into the mechanisms. The fluffy green and black rod is permanently scarred and practically useless. Needless to say, I haven't used the vacuum since.

This was not our first cordless vacuum. We knew we were looking for excellent cleaning power, a long lasting battery and ease of cleaning. Tick, tick, tick. Great on all counts. Our Dyson has been relegated to garage duties.

Disappointed, can’t use it on my orientalist rugs because you can’t turn off beater bar and even though the handle bends to allow to vacuum under furniture the head attachment is too big to fit under some low furniture

This vacuum is way better value than a Dyson. Love that the collected debris is stored in a larger container for disposal. I have 4 dogs, so far this vacuum is performing well. Great design to have a disconnect for going under low tables.

Easy to use, good at all surfaces, value for money , self clean is good functionality, only drawback would be corners in hand unit where dust get stucks

I really like the Clean & Empty system. I hate bags and this system allows for a smaller canister on the vacuum. It does actually sense and respond to wherever I vacuum! This is great because I have a mix of carpets, rugs, and hardwood floors.
