I have had this vacuum for about a year and half and I’m very disappointed. It does not pick up pet hair off of my area rug very well. If I go over my rug with a lint roller after vacuuming there is still a ton of hair. Also nearly every time I vacuum I have to pull hair out from between the soft roller brush and the plastic bumper. So it not even in the brush roll where it gets caught it’s inside the plastic bumper. It has a 2 brush roll design that is poorly executed. And yes, I change and wash the filters regularly. It doesn’t make a difference. And sometimes the static electricity build up is so much it just leaves rolls of hair on my carpet. I will not be buying a shark vacuum again and I do not recommend to anyone.

The vacuum is amazing! I have two black sister cats who shed like crazy. With my other vacuum (which I loved except for the cat hair issue) I could move side to side and rotate around - it was wonderful. But it would just roll the cat hair into long strips that no matter what I did the vacuum would not pick them up. It drove me crazy. The Shark picks up everything with no issue - I love this vacuum! It makes my life so much easier. My only negative comments are: 1. it is very heavy - I work out and my right arm was still sore the next day after I used it for the first time; and, 2. No little manual was provided. How to get started was provided. I had to go online to look up information. This may save you money - but for the cost of this vacuum a manual should be provided. Yes, times are changing, everything is online but that doesn't work for everyone - think please about it.

This vacuum would be great if we didn't have pets! (We have 2 dogs and 2 cats) I have to stop every couple of minutes and unclog hair and debri that builds up on the roller brush. The only way it really sucks anything up is if it is in turbo mode. However, then the battery dies before I get half way through with the house ( our house is only 1300 sqft) I really wish I would have stuck with a classic upright vacuum 😢

I ordered this for my mom, who isn't a great online shopper. I've tried it out myself a few times though and it's really great. This is her second Shark vacuum - I encouraged her to go with a cordless model as she was complaining about having the issue of dust and hair being blown around by the motor on her older model (which has held up great to years of daily use) This cordless model is perfect, and the auto feature can be turned off or left on (if it's on it tries to take the corner of my rug lol) The emptying station is SO NICE, and it's simple to use.

Purchased 3 weeks ago. There was so many features that immediately attracted me to this product and I'm so glad I bought it . Cordless was the first thing that attracted me and then the fact that it is lightweight the suction capability is off the chain whether it is used on hardwood or carpet. I have a dog and I have been unable to get all the hair up with my previous vacuum and I couldn't believe how much dirt and dust came out of my carpets from using this new vacuum. Would recommend! The best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned.

We love all the bells and whistles this has to offer. The dirt detection light, automatic switch for flooring differences, the quiet mode and the way the tube bends for hard to reach places are all wonderful features. I was worried it would be too heavy, but it is much lighter than the Dyson model with similar features. I especially love the addition of the soft roller in the front which the lower versions do not have.

I have had multiple shark vacuums-:why you ask- I have 6 German Shepherds and to say I live in dog hair is an understatement. My favorite vacuum was the lift a way navigator - I can't remember the model number but I do remember that when I purchased it, it came with a rolling caddy that turned it into a canister vacuum. It had an attachment that had a terrycloth cover that was removable and washable. When that vacuum finally broke down, (it lasted 5 years) this model was no longer available. I decided to try other models- I tried the canister vacuum- it was ok but not perfect. I also tried the stick vacuum, as well as the vortex. I still have it but I do not use it. I found the little roller in the front gets clogged and then breaks. I was getting very frustrated having to stop and clear the roller every few minutes. Ultimately, the power head plastic that holds the rollers broke. I refused to purchase another head and was questioning my sanity as I considered ANOTHER shark vacuum. Ignoring the logical part of my brain, I purchased the cordless IP3251 - this model boasts the best in pet hair removal- let me tell you, the hair clogs the roller. The roller on my new vacuume has already broken. I know you are thinking- the hair of 6 German Shepherds- no way can a vacuum handle that but, i pick up the loose clumps of hair before vacuuming so the vacuume doesn't have to work so hard. I have tile floors so scooping loose hair is very easy. Any vacuume that has that little roller in the front, in my opinion. is NOT appropriate for pet hair. I have many shark/ninja products- I have 2 slushy machines, 2 blenders and the foodie, although I am loyal to the brand, I am very disappointed in the vacuumes I have purchased. I am considering trying a new manufacturer.

I hesitate between one and teo stars simply because it’s easy to maneuver and self-cleaning; however I bought this in November for our new apartment—which is only 1-level, about 1100 sq ft—and it works half as well in only four months time. I am now having to go back over the same areas multiple times to get some of the dirt up, picking up pieces big enough to see the vacuum missed, and it won’t clean the whole apartment at one time, has to be recharged. Nothing happened to it. It worked better at first. I have bought nothing but sharks for almost two decades and this may be my last.

While Dyson is the bigger name, Shark wins on durability and overall value—Dyson should take notes on how to build a high-performance vacuum that actually lasts. Performance: the Shark picks up more debris in fewer passes. Run Time: the Shark last long enough for me to do my whole house and still have battery life left over. Build Quality: the Shark feels sturdier and handles daily wear and tear better. Cost-to-Value Ratio: more for money with the Shark I only wish that it came with the handheld Motorhead as an accessory instead of a separate purchase. It has multiple ways it can be used depending on your vacuum needs, and switching between them is very easy. You can complete small jobs in minutes. The suction on this machine is amazing and also adjustable if you need extra power or want to use eco boost. It also does forward and reverse pickup. Battery life is about 70 minutes. One really cool feature is the auto-empty dock, which saves you from having to empty the canister each time while keeping the dust inside, along with odor neutralizer technology to keep it smelling fresh. The only downside is that it feels a bit heavy to use, but overall I would absolutely recommend the Shark Power Detect. 👍
