This is the third time I have returned this item and none of them have ever stopped making a horrible loud noise. I've tried unplugging, cleaning and all of the above but nothing seems to work. Waste of time and money I thought I was going to have an excellent product thinking GE was a very good brand but this time I'm very disappointed!

We have had this machine for a year and it is more of a hassle than it is worth. The ice is great, but the frequency of the loud screeching and incessant cleaning routine is too much. The sounds from and work required for this machine do not meet the price point.

A total piece of crap! This is my second attempt at getting the Profile 2.0, and both of the units are worthless. The grinding, squeaking, moaning noise that comes out of this little machine can actually be heard from outside my house with the windows and doors closed. It is unbearable and just screams that it's a poorly engineered product. GE, you should be ashamed of yourself. What a piece of crap you are building.

Since i bought this ice maker back in November 2025, i have never turned it off and it has been making ice 3-4 times a day everyday since i plugged it in. I hope it never dies on me but if it ever does I'll know how hard it worked for me and I'll definitely buy another one

It was good till it wasn't. Had it now for about 4 months. Bi-weekly cleanings and follow the instructions to the letter. Suddenly the compressor and the pump stop working. Still trying to exchange but it's like jump through a million hoops since I don't have the original box. Who keeps a box for 4 months? You see the digital receipt, what's the issue here? I'd be happy to change the review if someone would follow through on the warranty and exchange this for one that works. Like I said, it was good till it wasn't.

It makes the ice and is good ice. However, the way to scoop ice and resivor is cheap and difficult to maneuver without spilling ice out on floor.

Just got this a couple weeks ago and it's awesome. Makes ice just like sonic ice. It's quiet and makes a lot of ice. So glad I finally gave in and got it.

We were so indecisive about ordering this. We’ve had other countertop ice makers that were “meh”. This one is amazing. It is a little work horse. After the initial cleaning/setup it’s been effortless. Just add some water to the side tank every few days. We are using reverse osmosis from our house. The ice is perfectly clear and doesn’t melt and form an iceberg in the holding bin. It makes all we can possibly need. It’s quiet. This model does not have a separate cleaning cycle button. It just has the one button for cleaning purposes. It’s explained well in the directions. It comes with a filter you can install in the water reservoir, if needed for your water. We’re so happy we made this purchase. We did buy the extended warranty….which we never do. Ice makers are notorious for mechanical issues. We decided for the small up front cost, it might be worth it. We’re hoping to not find out if it was a good idea.

I have been thinking about this icemaker for several months, but I was reluctant to purchase due to the price and some of the negative reviews I saw. However, a doorbuster offer convinced me to give it a try, and I'm glad that I did! I was concerned that this icemaker would not work well, and might be noisy after reading some of the experiences mentioned by others. However, this product has worked flawlessly for me, and produces the type of nugget ice that I dearly love! I do not find it to be noisy, and it produces a sufficient amount of ice within a reasonable time. I think that the instructions for set up and use of the icemaker could be written more clearly, but with some patience, I managed to figure things out. Also, I would've preferred that the icemaker came with a metal ice scoop, rather than the plastic one I received (although, the plastic scoop appears to be of decent quality). Based on my experience, I would recommend this machine provided you can catch it at a good price!

Was very excited about the beautiful color and initially the ice was great. it showed up in an absolutely busted box and on the second day it just started screeching and wouldnt stop. had to unplug drain and return. Such a disappointment. Would not recommend.
