Stopped working after 4 months

It was good while it lasted. The load screeching I was able to deal with it.. ice was great. After 4 months it stopped working.

Excellent Ice Maker

We purchased our GE Profile Opal almost 6 years ago. We have had NO problems! We use distilled water and clean regularly. I love the nugget ice!

Great ice

This is our first GE ice maker.it's first gen but it's still a lot nicer than the first two off brands we purchased. The ice is a lot nicer in size texture and seems to stay a lot longer without melting

Best Ice Maker

I had the opal nugget ice maker 2.0 for 4 or 5 years. Tis one seems to make more ice, it’s faster and quieter. I love it!

Weird Unbearable Noise

Worked great for a couple months and then it started making unbearable noise. Started like a little girl humming and progressively got worse. Maybe it’s haunted. Returning and buying a different brand.

Troublesome machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Doesn’t make ice. Says need water while its full. Need cleaning but i cleaned it three times. Does not go on clean cycle. Bought it 3 months ago.

Regarding the cleaning notification, we recommend making sure the full cleaning process described in the manual has been performed; cleaning information is available starting on page 7 of the manual, linked here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--9_JHdteK--/248fcfa1db27d93cf26d2d04dad1f2db57a3f5f1.pdf If that doesn’t help with the cleaning notification, and to address the Add Water message, we recommend disconnecting the Opal from power for 3 to 4 hours before reconnecting, to reset it. Terrible product

Very loud

After running for 2 hours started squeeking so loud it scared the dog. Could not talk above the noise. When turned off it continued squeeling. Returning

Best thing.....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Went on a work trip for a week. Missed this ice all week. If you're serious about ice cold drinks or ice in general then pick this thing up, you won't be sorry. I absolutely love it.

3rd time not a charm

I have owned 3 of these and they all died.Thank goodness I purchased the extended warranty otherwise I would just be angry. Look elsewhere for a countertop icemaker.
