Sam's Club sourdough was such a great find when they introduced it then became even better when they offered it in a sliced version BUT they have recently changed the recipe from using real sourdough starter to using a commercial wheat product and it no longer tastes like sourdough. This was once the best sourdough bread in our region of Pennsylvania BUT no longer. Please return to your original recipe or we will not be purchasing any longer. We went through three loaves a week.

If I could give this zero stars, I would I've been buying the sliced sourdough from Allentown, Pennsylvania Sam's yesterday I went to the eastern Pennsylvania. Sam's just grabbed the bag of the sliced sourdough. I came home to have a sandwich. Open it up right away. You can tell there was no sourdough starter smell so I start looking at the ingredients took the one I had in the freezer out. Compare the ingredients. Why would they change a good thing this bread just smells like bread. I don't even think they added anything sour into it now I'm gonna go back today to the Allentown Pennsylvania Sam's Club and see if they have real sourdough. If I'm allowed I'm gonna include both pictures. I took of the ingredients from the one that has sourdough starter in it and from this knock off. shame on you Sam's Club.

Why, why, why do companies change a good product?! Leave out the yeast and the soybean oil— absolutely the worst possible oil for human consumption. SAMs use to carry 2 other really good breads, and for some reason quit carrying them. Please, SAMs, bring back Oregon Trail Cinnamon Raisin Bread and Inked Organics White Bread

It's and OK Sourdough Bread. It's definitely not horrible but it's also not exceptional or memorable. It's got that commercial white bread softness. The loaf is the average size and the price is very good. However it lacks that traditional Sourdough Bread appeal. I wish I could give it 2.5 Stars because 3 is a little too generous.

As most have noticed this is not in anyway like the sour dough boules Sam's Club carried in the past. Do not buy. It tasted like a loaf of sliced generic French bread. Shame on Sams for trying to pass this off as sourdough bread. Kept my membership just to buy the original sourdough Sam's carried. Will not buy again and most likely will not renew membership.

This is not like sourdough in a store, but rather like a homemade sourdough from a friend. The only gluten my body can handle is true sourdough and I have no issue with this bread. It taste delicious and it's always fresh! I can't understand how the overall rating is not five stars.

We loved this sourdough bread. It was our favorite. The new recipe is horrible. The bread lacks flavor. The texture isn't sourdough either. This bread is closer to white bread in both texture and flavor. If you love sourdough, skip this. If you used to buy it and loved it, skip it. Time to find a new sourdough. Such a disappointment!

Like every other review I'm reading I am so disappointed in the change of the sourdough bread. I 100% agree it does NOT taste anything like sourdough. I only buy it from Sam's because no other bakery is good but I must say I just bought my last loaf. I will not buy it again..So disappointed.

This bread used to be amazing! It's not real sourdough anymore. Read the ingredients. Please bring back the old recipe that was actual sourdough. We don't want this imposter. It's garbage. Come on Sam's Club. Do better when you keep interesting the cost of membership.

I'm not sure what has happened, but for MONTHS now the sourdough has been… awful? It hasn't been sourdough, that's for sure. Every week we'd buy two loafs, one immediately to eat, and one for the freezer. It was the BEST sourdough we've tried, and we tried a lot stores before landing on Sam's. We recommended it out the wazoo… and now? I literally cringe everytime I go to try a new loaf because it's going to one, not taste like sourdough, but two be either sweet, white bread, or who even knows because it's not SOURDOUGH. My families favorite bonding breakfast has now been completely disrupted. We thought maybe someone just messed up the starter, but it's been months now. Is it just completely changed forever or is someone messing with the starter? If it was changed, we literally beg you sam's club to change it back. Almost 3 whole years of eating your sourdough for breakfast and now it's leaving a sour taste in my mouth. literally.
