This is not like sourdough in a store, but rather like a homemade sourdough from a friend. The only gluten my body can handle is true sourdough and I have no issue with this bread. It taste delicious and it's always fresh! I can't understand how the overall rating is not five stars.

They completely changed the ingredients— so upsetting. It used to contain real sourdough starter — no yeast. NOW it contains yeast. Doesn't taste sour. Has the texture of regular Italian bread. Fluffy. Not crusty anymore. Feels closer to white bread:( Wish they would return to the original recipe. Also means no more dietary benefits of REAL sourdough:(

I used to have Boudin bakery sourdough shipped to me because I love sourdough bread. I was excited when I found that Sam's Club was making a comparable sourdough. However recently something has changed. It's more like an Italian bread. Sam's Club sourdough used to be excellent, but now it isn't sour anymore. I don't know if they need a new starter, but I won't be buying any more until it is sour again.

I'm not sure what has happened, but for MONTHS now the sourdough has been… awful? It hasn't been sourdough, that's for sure. Every week we'd buy two loafs, one immediately to eat, and one for the freezer. It was the BEST sourdough we've tried, and we tried a lot stores before landing on Sam's. We recommended it out the wazoo… and now? I literally cringe everytime I go to try a new loaf because it's going to one, not taste like sourdough, but two be either sweet, white bread, or who even knows because it's not SOURDOUGH. My families favorite bonding breakfast has now been completely disrupted. We thought maybe someone just messed up the starter, but it's been months now. Is it just completely changed forever or is someone messing with the starter? If it was changed, we literally beg you sam's club to change it back. Almost 3 whole years of eating your sourdough for breakfast and now it's leaving a sour taste in my mouth. literally.

This bread used to be amazing! It's not real sourdough anymore. Read the ingredients. Please bring back the old recipe that was actual sourdough. We don't want this imposter. It's garbage. Come on Sam's Club. Do better when you keep interesting the cost of membership.

Real sourdough is a great bread alternative for diabetics because its slow fermentation process lowers the glycemic index, breaks down starches into easily manageable carbs, and forms resistant starches. These factors result in a more gradual, moderate rise in blood sugar rather than a sharp spike. REAL SOURDOUGH DOES NOT CONTAIN YEAST. Come on Sam's/Members Mark brand, you are better than this.

The loaf seemed smaller; however, it was fresh. The price appeared to have increased as well.
