disappointment is immeasurable and day is ruined

I’m not sure if the old sourdough was baked in store, but when I arrived at the store these loaves were frozen. And I noticed a new bag so I decided to look at the ingredients just in case and to my strong disappointment I found… enriched flour, bad oils and no starter. I was so impressed with the old recipe. It was fantastic… sigh - all good things never last…

Enriched Flour switch ruins this bread!

I am beyond disappointed to see that Sam’s Club has switched the recipe for this sourdough to enriched flour. For those of us with a physiological intolerance to folic acid, the previous recipe was a literal lifesaver. It was the only affordable, clean sourdough I could find, and I would regularly buy 3 or 4 loaves at a time. It was the primary reason I maintained my Sam’s Club membership. By switching to enriched flour, you have turned a high-quality, "real" bread into just another mass-produced product that I can find anywhere else. You’ve taken away a dietary staple for your sensitive members and, in doing so, removed my biggest incentive to shop here. Please consider returning to the traditional, non-enriched flour recipe. Until then, I’ll be looking elsewhere for my groceries.

Soybean oil!! Sam's Club is going backwards!

This originally was a good sourdough bread, with zero bad seed oils, and had a nice sourdough flavor. Now it contains soybean oil, and tastes like carboard. What happenef?! Poorly done Sam's. Bring back the good sourdough bread without all the toxic ingredients.

Disappointed

We just started buying this bread a few months ago. We were so happy to find an affordable sourdough with a concise ingredient list that actually included sourdough starter. Our most recent purchase was however very disappointing as we found the ingredients have completely changed and the bread has lost all semblance of sourdough. It’s NOT sourdough anymore. We hope the old recipe is brought back.

Different ingredients and higher calories

The ingredients are different and is now higher in calories. I’ve purchased Sam’s Club sourdough bread many times before and always appreciated the short list of ingredients. The bread is noticeably different and I am disappointed that they would make these changes. I will no longer purchase this item.

What happened to the sourdough bread that I loved?

I purchased the sourdough bread a few weeks ago and it was wonderful !! I purchased it again about a week ago and it was awful ! Tasted nothing like sourdough bread. I put it in the trash. Please go back to the original recipe. It was delicious and a beautiful bread.

This used to be wonderful but its awful now. This doesn't even resemble bakery sourdough bread from 2 months ago. This last and final loaf was baked that morning but tasted dense and stale. The loaf s were flattened out and thin. Not sure what happened but definitely not buying more until the issue is fixed.

Sams ruined a good thing again. what used to be good sourdough bread is now fake sourdough using yeast instead of a sourdough starter. As a diabetic, what was once a trusted go-to I could tolerate, unexpectedly became a huge blood sugar spike because of a recipe change that bypasses fermentation. It also tastes like total crap now.

Changed recipe - basic white bread bad ingredients

I was a huge fan of the first recipe of this sourdough, and thrilled I could actually buy bread at Sam's club. They have changed the recipe, and now this is NOT sourdough bread any longer. I wpuld give a 5-star review to the previous recipe and zero stars to this. We avoid seed oils and folic acid (synthetic folate) in our diets for daily life -- thankfully, Aldi offers a true sour dough at a good price. so disappointed in this!

it's just mediocre white bread now

Apparently the whole, unsliced, actual sourdough loaves were replaced with this, boring plain white pre-sliced boules. Judging by the other reviews, no one is fooled by this cheapskate maneuver. Why do this other than to save a couple pennies? I'm not buying this any more.
