I have had a radical prostatectomy which has greatly reduced my bladder control, particularly in the afternoons and evenings. The previous version of Guards (sku 0 36000 13792 7 / 500000058701) had enough absorbency to get through the afternoon without fear of overflow, and the elastic border provided additional security. This “New & Improved” Guards version does not have the same absorption capacity, particularly towards the back, and I have suffered leakage repeatedly. The lack of raised edging allows any excess urine that has flowed to the back of the pad to overwhelm the absorptive capacity and flow off the edge of the pad, soaking both undergarments and pants. I certainly disagree with their 5/8 “Drip” rating. While I appreciate convenience of using a Guard style of product (as opposed to a “pull-up” style), my daily routine requires more absorption endurance than these new pads provide, so I am forced to look elsewhere.

I have been using Depends Men Guards for 33 years with total satisfaction. This new design and protection are a total failure. I am using 2 and 3 times more pads in addition experiencing greater leakage. Why did you try to fix what isn't broken?????

Very disappointed in the new Fresh Protection guards. They are no where near as absorbent as the previous product. Combined with the smaller size they just don't offer the same level of protection. Been using Depend Guards for years. Now have to look for alternatives.

This new design change is terrible %26 a big disappointment! My husband has been using them for 6 years due to his incontinence form prostate cancer. As I always do, I hit “ reorder” and received the 2 cases. There was no indication on the box that the product had changes. When my husband open the bag, he knew there was a change; They were thinner. He used them but quickly realized they weren't the same! I quickly checked my order thinking I ordered the wrong thing….nope! Description, absorbency etc is all the same. hat a is a major step backwards. I can't believe Depends QA did conduct extensive consumer testing!! Because if they did %26 it was all positive, the packaging and advertising would boast “New %26 Improved”! Obviously, This was a cost-cutting decision! Depends tried to slip this cost-cutting under the radar! They tarnished their brand for those loyal customers. Shame on Depends Corporation! And Shame on Sam's Club for stocking the product. Now I'm out of pocket for two cases.

I was worried about the new design, that it wouldn't hold as well as the old design. I read some of these reviews and I was very worried because of all the new reviews that were bad about the new design. I tried it anyway and I am pleasantly surprised. It works great. I am on lasix and I leak a lot and when I'm taking the lasix I leak a lot. The new design absorbs well, keeps me dry, stays in place, feels so much better than the old product, and there is no odor at all. I would recommend this product to anyone. Thanks Depends for the great product. I have been a user for about 2 years and I will remain a user.

I have used this product the guards for men for over 20 years, now it seems you have sacrificed the material less material less absorbency for the same price. I would not recommend the new design.

My husband has been using the Depends maximum protection guards for years. Now the pads are thinner and he is experiencing side leaks and slippage of the pads. We are not happy with the changes to these pads.

New and improved Did not stick to underwear properly! Absorbed nothing and leaked around underwear. Your original product was good and did the job. Your new improved is garbage. I will need to seek other brands. Good job you have lost a customer for good!

I've been using Guards for years. They had been working very well. I recently bought a new stock. The packaging looked different and the package was smaller for the same quantity. The pads are smaller and more prone to leaks. If I can't get the old style, I may need to change brands.
