I was worried about the new design, that it wouldn't hold as well as the old design. I read some of these reviews and I was very worried because of all the new reviews that were bad about the new design. I tried it anyway and I am pleasantly surprised. It works great. I am on lasix and I leak a lot and when I'm taking the lasix I leak a lot. The new design absorbs well, keeps me dry, stays in place, feels so much better than the old product, and there is no odor at all. I would recommend this product to anyone. Thanks Depends for the great product. I have been a user for about 2 years and I will remain a user.

I have had a radical prostatectomy which has greatly reduced my bladder control, particularly in the afternoons and evenings. The previous version of Guards (sku 0 36000 13792 7 / 500000058701) had enough absorbency to get through the afternoon without fear of overflow, and the elastic border provided additional security. This “New & Improved” Guards version does not have the same absorption capacity, particularly towards the back, and I have suffered leakage repeatedly. The lack of raised edging allows any excess urine that has flowed to the back of the pad to overwhelm the absorptive capacity and flow off the edge of the pad, soaking both undergarments and pants. I certainly disagree with their 5/8 “Drip” rating. While I appreciate convenience of using a Guard style of product (as opposed to a “pull-up” style), my daily routine requires more absorption endurance than these new pads provide, so I am forced to look elsewhere.

Apparently no one did any field testing of this complete failure. the new pad has a wide top, (which might work for those with a very small P P) and a very narrow lower ( which is where I dress) and no cupping in the lower portion. I have been caught by surprise 3 times with a pad that failed my field test. I have been using this product for 9 years with no problems and was not aware a change had happened. I purchased two bags of the 84 count and will return the unopened one to the point of purchase and trashing about 60 of these inferior pads.

I have been using Depend Guards for more than3 years. I had a prostatectomy. They have always been reliable. I was surprised when I could not find the old packaging. Once I opened the new packaging, I found out why. Some "engineer" decided they new best and completely changed the design and overall product. The new product is less absorbent, does not give the same coverage as the old design, and leaks excessively. I was down to one pad per day with the old design. Now I am using two to three pads per day. BRING BACK THE OLD DESIGN, OR AT LEAST MAKE IT AVAILABLE AND FIRE THE "ENGINEER" AND MANAGERS THAT CHANGED THE DESIGN! Your responses to other negative reviews are laughable and show that whomever is answering the comments really does not care what the consumers think. I would think that with the number of negative reviews, you would already be going back to the old design.

The new pads are not good for large surges. The old pads were perfect. I understand that Depends was trying to use technology and make them smaller, but did you really check how well they worked with actual people? So disappointed. I have got to find some better guards somewhere.

I have been purchasing the guards for my dad and he has been complaining that he doesn’t like the new ones. I told him it's just new packaging but he's complained they are not absorbent like the old ones. I thought it was his imagination but now that I've read the other reviews, I guess he was right. Please bring back the previous model so my dad (and other men) feel confident again. This really impacts my dad's ability to go out and enjoy life.

This product does not fit like the original ones the ones I paid for but every month at least once a month This is not what I'm looking for and the product that I need the original ones the maximum ones for some reason the price is went up and they are not on the shelves is available as the other ones that I can't use right they don't fit right they don't cover as much and they don't hold as much as I need them toCan you go back to the old one

I just received a new shipment of these Men's Guards. What a disappointment, the new design must have been prompted to enhance profits. These smaller, thinner, and less material "guards" are totally inferior to the design I've been using for 6 years. Please send communication when the old design is produced again. Thanks for thinking about the users first:(!
