The new design and shape do not improved the product. I have used the old pads every since prostate surgery due to incontinence. The old ticket pads were very reliable. The new pads with the narrower, shorter extension between the legs leaks more. I find it interesting that the graphic showed mostly 5 star reviews but in reading the individual reviews, I found that they were almost all 1 star. I found two 3 star and one 5 star reviews. There fine print said they were incentivized by getting"free product". Basically it appears that the good reviews were bought by the company. I will be looking for better products. The automated assistant is not very original. Each response essentially says the same thing. AI is not a good image. Good luck trying to sell this "product".

Not recommended. As a 4.5-year user of Depend Guards, the new design is significantly inferior and disappointing. Each pad is 10 grams lighter with a new ineffective shape that promotes side leaks. Given that the retail price has not changed, this so-called “new and improved” product looks more like a flawed cost reduction project that insults its loyal, longtime customer base. Rating is actually zero stars. I'm out.

I can't believe the changes made to this product. The quality and dependability are, well just gone There is absolutely no way ANYONE could agree that the changes made improve what was in my opinion a fantastic product that gave me peace of mind . Profit, greed I just don't know

Don't buy these. I have used the old product for 13 years after prostate surgery. I always felt secure. Now even if I don't leak I always feel damp. They don't pull moisture away the body. I can't believe they tested this new product with real men in real life. Also, notice that the only positive reviews here are from men who were incentivized from the company to bring up the overall rating. Very deceptive business practice. Just like making a thinner, cheaper product to increase profit margin. Sorry Depends. You have lost my respect and trust on several levels. I now have the chore of trying different brands until I feel secure again!

I've relied on Depends for many years. The “improved” version is definitely NOT an improvement for the consumer. They are more prone to leakage and less absorbent than the older version but at the same price. Because they have so much less absorbent material , they are more comfortable but they do not serve their intended purpose. I will be looking for alternatives.

I just received a new shipment of these Men's Guards. What a disappointment, the new design must have been prompted to enhance profits. These smaller, thinner, and less material "guards" are totally inferior to the design I've been using for 6 years. Please send communication when the old design is produced again. Thanks for thinking about the users first:(!

Much less protection. Not an improvement. Depends for men were more expensive than others, but worth it. Now they might work for others, but not me. I need the original design. I'm changing to the cheaper store brands. Personally, I will probably not buy depends brand even if they change back. Too bad.

The new design is horrible! Removal of the elastic side gathers and elimination of the true cup shape, means they leak extremely easy. The new product was issued without warning or announcement on packaging. New design will double my cost and mean I am never safe from leaks. Horrible way to treat 40 year customers.

This redesign is terrible. I really don't know where to start. I'm 62 and have been incontinent following prostate surgery for 17 years. Depending on my activity, I go through 1-4 pads a day. I know what I'm talking about. It seems like this was designed by people without male urinary biology and tested by people who are not incontinent. The old design had a pouch with ample sides to redirect urine. These have neither, with a very narrow lower part and no sides to redirect urine. I play golf 2-3x per week. The old design would have a "misdirection" leak caused by hip turn maybe twice a year. These did it within 3 holes - not even 10 swings - soaked underwear and wet stain on pants for the rest of the round. Completely unusable for golf. Further, the very narrow glue strips came off in my underwear 3 out of the first 4 times I used these. These are very narrow use pads that I would only trust while working from home. I don't even trust them to sleep in. Very disappointed because I felt Depend was the best and now I have to find another brand.

The new protection guards are terrible. I always used the old ones and they never leaked. The new ones leak all the time out the side. They leak into my underwear every time I wear them and cannot trust them. I bought 2 packs and returned one. the are lighter and do not hold as much as the old ones. I am driving to all the drug stores to see if they have any of the old packaging.
