Customer reviews for Shark Matrix™ Self Emptying Robot Vacuum with 60 Day Capacity forgreat machine, would recommend
GREAT machine. Rarely gets stuck. Mapping features aren't the greatest but get the job done. I wish it had a little more runtime but it's about 80% of the way there for my house. Reliable cleaning buddy that gets back to the charger 90% of the time!
Vacuum Failed Under 3 Years of Ownership
I purchased this item roughly 2 years ago and all of a sudden it just stopped working. We have two dogs so this was really wonderful and worked as expected the first 2 years. The vacuum itself is in perfect condition, aside from some scratches from it getting stuck under our bed, but we have kept good care of the item over the last 2 years. We are getting a red and white flashing light accompanied by a dooming sound everytime we try to get the shark to run. There have been no home or lifestyle changes, simply the shark just stopped working one morning. We had our product registered under warranty although when we called to resolve the issue, they noted the item was outside of the warranty window and they failed to diagnose the problem. We received a 30% discount for the same vacuum, and still was not even told what was causing the error on the vacuum. While we appreciate the 30% off, it is not worth it to us to purchase another Shark Matric Vacuum when we know it will likely malfuntion within the first two-three years of its lifespan. Disappointing because this item was incredible and gave us zero issues until one day it just stopped working and nothing was done to fix the issue on Shark's behalf. I would recommend this product for someone who needs a quick fix/clean, but not for the long haul.
Hi Alex, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience, especially after caring for your vacuum so well and relying on it for your home with pets. We understand how frustrating and disappointing it must feel for the unit to stop working so suddenly after two years of trouble‑free use. Since the product is now outside of its warranty period, the 30% discount toward a replacement of the same model is the support we’re able to offer at this stage. That said, we never want you to feel left without answers, and we’d be more than happy to look into this further to see if there’s anything else we can do. Please reach out to us using the link below so our team can review the situation in more detail: https://support.sharkninja.com/contact-us Kind regards, Shark Home
Overall a great unit
I was very apprehensive about going to another Shark given the problems I had with my old one. But I am happy to report that this unit goes where the other unit would easily get hung up. If I had any complaint at all, it would be the house mapping. The map it shows is nothing like our house. Similar in ways, but it makes it very difficult to name rooms as they don’t have shapes of our actual house.
DISAPPOINTED
I couldn’t get help through shark so I went to ChatGPT. Finally got answers. It’s just not a really well design product when it works. It works wonderfully but very rarely does it work correctly? Why won’t my shark wet vac ever clean the whole house? It will only do part of it the battery dies and then it never finishes. This is one of the most common — and most frustrating — things Shark owners run into, so you’re not imagining it. Here’s the honest reason it happens: Your Shark wet/dry robot uses a LOT more battery when it’s mopping than when it’s vacuuming. Between: pumping water, spinning the mop pad, suction, and navigation, …it burns through power much faster than the “vacuum-only” mode it was designed around. So what happens in real life is: It starts a whole-house clean The battery drops fast It goes back to charge It either resumes too late, loses its map, or decides the job is “done” even though large areas were skipped That’s a Shark software problem — not your fault. Why it doesn’t finish after charging Shark’s Recharge & Resume is much weaker for wet mode than for vacuum mode. If: the battery drops below a certain level, the pad is wet, or it takes too long to recharge, the robot often aborts the job instead of resuming it. It basically gives up. How to make it actually clean your whole house This is the trick that works for most people: Don’t run “Whole House” in wet mode. Instead: Open the Shark app Use Room Select Choose 2–3 rooms at a time Run those Then do the next set That keeps each run short enough that it finishes before the battery drops too low. It’s annoying… but it works. Two other things that help 1. Start with a full battery Don’t start a wet run unless it’s at 100%. 2. Use “Vacuum then Mop” Vacuum-only first (low power), then mop after. It uses far less battery than combined mode. Reality check Shark wet robots are great for maintenance mopping They are terrible at large-area deep mopping in one run. Your house isn’t the problem. The battery + software combo is. If you tell me which Shark model you have (IQ, Matrix, HydroVac, etc.) I can be even more precise about how to tame it. Matrix the dust doc never works either. It can never suck it out on its own jams up, and I have to clean up my hand every time. You’re not crazy — and it’s not just your machine. The Shark Matrix self-empty base is one of the weakest parts of that whole system. Here’s why it keeps jamming: Shark designed the Matrix dock with a narrow, curved suction path and a weak pull compared to how much hair and dog fluff it collects. With a Westie + a Cocker Spaniel in your house, that dock is being asked to swallow a fur tornado every run… and it simply can’t. So what happens is: The robot dumps a dense wad of hair It hits the bend in the dock throat It forms a plug Suction can’t pull it through Everything backs up Then you get stuck digging it out by hand. 😒 Why it used to work better When the system is new: Filters are clean The dock fan is strong The tube is slick After a few months: Dust coats the inside Pet hair creates static cling Suction drops And jams become constant. One thing that actually helps (a lot) Once a month, do this: Unplug the dock Open the dust bin Look down the plastic chute Run a bottle brush or paper towel taped to a ruler down it Pull out the hidden fur felt lining the tube It will be disgusting — and you will suddenly hear the dock sound louder afterward. That’s how you know airflow is back. Two small tweaks that reduce jams Empty the robot more often Set it to auto-empty after every run instead of every 30 minutes. Don’t let it overfill If you see fur packed behind the robot’s flap, manually empty it once — after that the dock works better again. Honest truth Shark’s Matrix dock was never designed for two shedding dogs. It works fine in “one cat, low-pile rug” homes — not in real ones. You’re not doing anything wrong. You just have a house full of love, fur, and chaos 🐾💛 — and the dock can’t keep up. If you want, tell me: mostly carpet or hard floors? how often you run it? I can help you dial in settings that reduce the clogs by about 70–80%. For reference, We have a 1500 square-foot condo.

Junk
This thing is junk. It was great at first but now doesn’t work well and won’t vacuum my whole house without returning to dock. It also won’t remap my house anymore either. I’ve tried all of the steps online and it still will not work correctly. It’s also had a squeaky wheel since i bought it. I’ll never buy one again

AMAZING ROBOT!
Bought this about 2 months ago. I must say, this was absolutely, undoubtably one of the BEST purchases I've ever made in my life! This robot is AMAZING! I recently bought a new condo. All carpet on the second level. Kind of a mix of light/dark grey carpet. My dog is about 18 pounds but she sheds like a husky. Little did I know, her fur was EVERYWHERE. I hate vacuuming too. I got this robot on Black Friday at 50% off. I set it up and WHAM....this little robot is a BEAST! After my first use, I emptied the bin and a sweater of fur came out. I was amazed. I vacuum the carpets now maybe 2-3 times a week and still get small bundles of hair in the bin. My carpets always look awesome with the lines and designs the robots leaves. I loves this robot. It's almost like my little toy. Just get my Iphone out, open the app...and vacuum my carpets with ZERO effort. LOVE THIS ROBOT!!!!
I love it, and I didn't think I would.
I actually do love this vacuum. It is my first robot vacuum and I didn't have high hopes, just something to help take some of the work off of my plate. The vacuum is actually really good. The floors are really after a cleaning. I still vacuum once a week, to get the hard to get areas but the house is much cleaner with the help of the robot vacuum. It's not too loud and it does take a while, it's not fast, but as I said, it does a great job vacuuming. The floors feel great afterwards. Very easy to empty the hub and the app is great, very easy to connect and it feels intuitive. I bought one for parents, and they fought it. Let's see if they love it as much as I do.
Not Worth It
I bought this robot vacuum about 6 months ago to replace another Shark robot Vacuum I had for almost 5 yrs, that quit operating correctly. To say I am disappointed in this model is a huge understatement. Daily, I receive many error notifications via the app and spend too much time seeing what is wrong with it. It gets stuck against a wall or door for no reason and on a kitchen rug, entry rug, bath rug - it doesn't matter. Just because it feels like it I guess. I have remapped my house several times, no difference. And, it is very very noisy, even on the eco mode. Much more so than my original one. When it stays running and does its job, it does pick up the dirt and dog hair, which is the only positive thing I can say about it.

very good vacuum results in thoroughness of job!
Got this as an upgrade to my first shark robot. But the noise level is crazy! It does a really great job of cleaning my hardwood, area rugs and carpeting. I am pleased with the clean factor!! Just can't understand the noise level. I might also say that having the single longer little spinning brush is an issue sometimes as it gets itself stuck on my area rugs!! and ends up trying to climb the fold it creates! Consequently, I have had to put tape under rug edges to stop this. So I personally prefer two spinning brush things that are a bit shorter instead of the longer single brush. I have to say I am VERY careful about emptying and washing all componets to my vaccums as this is an important step in caring for your machines!! and this take apart and wash factor of ALL SHARK vaccums is why I buy sharks in the first place!! Thank you shark!
Love the mapping feature
I’ve only had this for a few weeks, but so far I love it. It especially works great on my wood flooring and tile. It’s not perfect picking up all the hair from my golden retriever, but it’s definitely sufficient enough that I don’t have to use my upright vacuum nearly as much.
