With 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats, my carpets get a ton of traffic and plenty of messes, so I need something that can really handle everyday life. My favorite feature is definitely the steam function. The steam really helped loosen up tough, stuck-on stains that usually take a lot of scrubbing. I noticed a big difference when cleaning areas that had older spots or heavier dirt. It made those areas much easier to clean and the carpets looked noticeably fresher afterward. I also really like the extra features that come with it. The hose and attachments are great for cleaning stairs, furniture, and other areas that are harder to reach with the main cleaner. Having those tools made it much easier to tackle different spots around the house without needing another machine. Overall, I feel like it did a great job cleaning and refreshing my carpets, especially considering how much use they get every day in my house. The only downside for me is that I wish the suction was a little stronger to pull up more of the water and help the carpets dry a bit faster. That said, between the steam feature, the helpful attachments, and the overall cleaning power, it's been a really useful addition to keeping up with all the messes that come with a busy house

After putting it together, I was sure that I would love it. As a disclaimer, I do not have pets but I do have 4 young children and plenty of carpet in my home. I liked the steam power and the liquid releasing on the bottom as you push the vacuum. I could see the spills getting lighter and lighter over time, but it did take quite a few minutes of back and forward strokes. After a few moments, I noticed that the carpet looked dirtier than before! Turns out, the dirt that vacuum is collecting mixed with the liquids from the cleaning products were clumping together falling out from the vacuum. It was quite gross. I turned over the machine and could see where the buildup was happening. I cleaned it out and continued vacuuming but this happened repeatedly. When I opened the compartment to attach the handheld attachment, I could see a buildup of dirt there too (after using the full size vacuum but never the handheld yet). The handheld cleaning was pretty thorough and did a decent job. It also has a self clean feature which is super simple. Cleaning out the machine was relatively easy as well. Overall, the vacuum does a decent job getting out tough stains but does buildup grime during a single use and the grime will fall out of the machine while you are cleaning which is gross. I have attached before and after photos as well as the grime buildup (where the droppings fall from).

The overall cleaning power is very effective, easily pulling up both fresh spills and older stains after a couple of passes. It tackled everyday messes extremely well and made a noticeable difference in high-traffic areas. I believe the steam function greatly improves the overall cleaning results. The machine is very easy to use and provides a smooth operation. I like how easy it is to remove and replace both the clean and dirty water tanks. Filling the clean tank and emptying the dirty one is quick and hassle-free, which makes the whole process more convenient. The long cord length is another big plus, allowing me to move around without constantly switching outlets. The cleaned surface is a little wetter than what I've experienced with other machines, but it feels like a fair tradeoff for the more effective, deeper cleaning results. It took a high-traffic rug from looking "gray and dingy" back to its original color in one pass. If you have a kid who treats the sofa like a napkin, you need this. I used the handheld attachment to detail my couch cushions. It pulled out stains I thought were permanent. While there is a "Quick Dry" mode, if you use the heavy-duty steam settings on a deep stain, give yourself a few hours before you let the kids back on the furniture. This Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam Upright Carpet cleaner has been so useful to clean messes as well as improve the look of my carpets! Assembly is so easy and the directions are very straightforward to follow. The unit comes with everything you need to clean right away- including several cleaning solutions, an extendable hose, and several attachments to tackle a variety of messes. It is sturdy, and a little on the heavy side (I needed my husband to carry it up our stairs). So far, I've used this to clean several set in berry stains and mystery messes out of our carpet. This has a super fast warm up time for the steam to be ready to use and has a light to show when it's ready. Within minutes, the SteamWash Max setting removed my stains as if they were never there! It's very effective and I like that this uses steam vs just hot water. I also tried to use it on a grease stain from a glider in our nursery and while the stain didn't completely disappear, it lightened and the surrounding carpet looks much more fluffy again. Cleaning the machine has a few steps, but is worth the effort based on the results of the machine. All in all, this is a worthwhile investment and something I'm very happy to have in my home moving forward, especially when we get a puppy!

I currently own a Bissell and it outperforms this model in its overall power. With this model, a lot of water is left behind and took about 48 hours to dry. It did remove stains and sticky stuff that my kids had left on the rug and the couch really well. The steam power function was also a plus. I thought it was great that it used real steam to clean. This cleaner was also VERY easy to clean. The self cleaning cycle did a really great job of flushing the dirt and debris from the brush roll and inner components of the machine. Overall, this unit cleans pretty well. I just wish it had more power to suck up the water it is leaving behind.
