Game changing vacuum
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the HydroSteam for a few weeks now, and honestly, it's been a game-changer for cleaning up messes around the house. I mainly use it for carpets and area rugs because we have pets and kids, so spills and sticky messes happen constantly. It handled dried juice, mud, and whatever mystery stuff ends up in the rug without much effort. The steam really helps loosen things up, so I'm not stuck scrubbing forever. I've tried it on both thick and thinner rugs and it worked great on both. Some stains needed a couple passes, but overall it's way more effective than other cleaners I've used in the past. If your rugs take a beating like mine do, this thing is 100% worth it.
Looks and cleans like high end machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I fell in love with machine as soon as I took it out of the box. The weight and feel of the machine itself far surpasses an older version of the Bissell carpet cleaner. It even looks pretty!! The first thing I cleaned was my couch, using the self cleaning wand attachment. I was amazed and horrified by the amount of dirt that was removed from my couch. The suction is strong and my couch wasnt left completely soaking wet, just slightly damp and so so clean. The self cleaning tool? Brilliant! It was so fast and easy for me to clean the attachment - without needing to stop and take anything apart or dump anything. I run a daycare out of my home and have kids as well, so I am no stranger to dirty, sticky messes. The way this machine cleaned my couch so beautifully tells me it will be able to handle any mess I come across in the future, especially with its hydrosteam technology! This machine isn't one that just looks and feels high end - it truly cleans like a high end machine!
Amazing suction
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam from Stellar Panel to test. I have used many different carpet cleaners, but never found one I really could rave about. But, the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam was quite impressive! I have 3 kids, 2 cats, & 2 dogs so you can imagine the dirt that gets tracked into my house. My first area I wanted to tackle was my living room couch. It was covered in stains from little hands. I was mind blown by house clean my couch looked when I was done! The upholstery attachment has such a strong suction and the heated steam was lifting every ounce of grim and dirt off my couch! Next was the playroom carpets; again…. Kids. This room required pretreatment to get all the sticky messes of who knows what out of my carpet and I am positive one of my dogs has marked her territory a time or 2. I have cleaned these carpets dozens of times and they never looked fresh like they were when we first installed them. But with the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam, it clearly got the job done and left my carpets looking extra fresh! I was shook! Even lifted a nail polish stain out of the carpet. If you are in need of a carpet cleaners that actually gets the job done, you definitely need this! It has industrial vibe with a home size machine so it's not a space hogger. I will admit it is a bit heavy, but it's a work horse so I'm not complaining!
My intial experience and thoughts/improvement ideas
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As with our previous carpet cleaner from a different popular brand both fall short when it comes to tank volume, much too small, and the ability to fill the tank with ease. Even using a funnel and measuring cup is awkward as the tank does not sit flat so it either takes two or find a method to hold the tank upright while filling. Second improvement I would like to see is the ability to remove the rollers for a more thorough cleaning. Our other machine allows for this and while yes, it means more parts, it does allow to clean them much easier. Also the underside and wheels can capture pet hair. And those with dogs/cats that shed, will understand! Suction seems pretty decent but of course this also depends on how much solution is applied and speed at which the suction pull is done. Overall it did a great job off cleaning our carpet, including the occasional pet induced stains! While we have a portable for accidents, spills, etc. for those that don't show until later, were all cleaned without issue. Of course our previous machine did too but I think this machine, along with Bissell's cleaning solution, did better job with less attention to the stains. Lastly, prior to cleaning the carpet I vacuum like there is no tomorrow. Anything to get as much hair, dander, what-have-you, up before hitting it with the cleaner. Lastly, I always go back over the area cleaned with plain water. Yes, it does take twice as long but I have been told too many times if not, dirt can trapped in the leftover cleaning solution. Perhaps no longer relevant with today's solutions but until I know for certain, I am fine spending the time. I only wish the deal w/ the free steam mop was available when I purchased this as half the home is not carpet!

OhEmGee I am so grossed out that my carpet was this dirty!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we lived in our previous place we were renting and I had an old Bissell carpet cleaner that didn't work that well mostly because it was a base model and a decade old. The carpeting was only in rooms that the animals weren't allowed in so we didn't really need to use it much. When Bissell released the Crosswave models I convinced my husband to let me purchase one so I could keep our hard floors cleaner than a gross mop and bucket and he let me invest in one. And it works fantastic on hard floors and area rugs! But it isn't made for carpets. With that being said, when we bought our house we threw out the old carpet cleaner and we didn't buy a new one. We inherited a pretty stained carpet from a dog and three kids that lived with the previous owner who loved wine... or at least staining the carpet with it. We decided the carpet was going to have to be replaced but we would just keep it as clean as we could for now. With that being said, I am a little obsessed with cleaning in general so my cleaning routine is daily vacuuming and weekly washing of the floors with the Crosswave. However, I scrubbed the carpet on my hands and knees with a brush and double concentrated carpet cleaner then tried to suck up the excess liquid with the Crosswave as I have done on the hard floors when they got wet. That night I decided to invest in a new Bissell carpet cleaner . A couple days after the scrubbing my new Bissell came and I was floored at the results! I used the included pet urine eliminator solution, the steam pretreat function to go over the carpet forward and backward for a swipe and then the steam cleaning function to go over the carpet once with spray forward and then I went over the line slowly about four times to scrub and dry it. It was damp for a couple hours then dry. I am disgusted with how dirty the carpet was after all of my previous efforts and I am so happy I purchased this machine! The carpet is also such a better color now that it's truly clean!
A true deep clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After receiving this bissell hydro steam I really put it to the test. I have 2 large dogs that shed a bunch, and I also have 2 toddlers and live on an acreage where dirt is quite common! The areas where I have area rugs and carpet are high traffic and I vacuum them atleast once daily with a well know name brand vacuum. When I used the hydrosteam for the first time I was SHOCKED at the amount of hidden dirt and dog hair that this machine removed. This machine truly gets a DEEP clean and made me feel like I had really gotten rid of some pesky hair and dirt that I would not have otherwise gotten with just my routine vacuuming. Additionally, I have a couch that unfortunately shows any dirt and stain and the versatility of this cleaner to be able to use it as a spot cleaner as well was a game changer!!! Being able to use one machine for both jobs not only saves my sanity, but saves space in my cleaning closet as well from having to store 2 different machines to get the jobs done! I truly give this machine a 5/5 rating and I look forward to using it for many more deep cleaning jobs in my home!
Mighty Machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoyed the cleaning power of the Hydrosteam. It worked well loosening pet stains from rugs. I like that it is easy to move around and the dirty water containers are so easy to pop out and clean. They are very easy to clean which will help the unit looking and smelling nice for a long time. The whole unit looks for clean and sophisticated, the finishing are modern and very appealing to the eye. Getting it out of the garage and into cleaning mode is super easy which makes it even more worthwhile. So much of the time these type of cleaners can be too big and heavy to even use rendering them uses less. I love that the hydrosteam is about the size and weight of a standard vacuum cleaner. It is easy to move around from room to room and back to storage. It is great for cleaning couches, chairs and other items that cannot be used with an upright machine. I truly enjoy this and am glad to now have it as part of my cleaning routine.
Terrible! This machine doesn't work very well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using carpet cleaner machines at home for over 30 years and this is carpet cleaner is by far the worst machine I have ever used. I put 128 oz of water/cleaner in the machine, and it only was able to retrieve 6 oz. This means 122 oz of dirty water soaked into my carpet and the machine didn't pick it up. I got my old carpet cleaner out and it picked up another 80 oz of dirty water, which I thought was bad until I received the Bissell. This machine has a poor design with almost no suction, I will be trying something else.
Hi Bubba. We'd love to troubleshoot the suction issue with you and see if we can get your machine working how it should. Our Consumer Care team is ready to assist you at support.bissell.com.
Carpet Cleaner for Mid Level Jobs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam as part of a Stellar Product Panel. The unit was easy to setup and worked great for mid-level messes. The unit uses one tank for both solution and water so there isn't an extra "rinse" function like other units I've seen out there. While this may seem convenient, it did seem to leave a residue on the carpet. The unit also held less capacity than other cleaners I've used in the past and didn't get deep into the carpet for those extra colorful messes the kids leave behind. Still, I would possibly recommend this unit if you're looking for a simple solution for regular carpet or rug cleaning. It's relatively light weight and easy enough that I was about to cover a lot of ground quickly.
Hi there – thanks for sharing your experience and for testing the Revolution® HydroSteam® through the Stellar Product Panel! We're glad to hear it was easy to set up and worked well for regular cleaning. We’re sorry it didn’t meet your expectations for deeper messes or rinsing. Our Consumer Care team would be happy to help at support.bissell.com if you’d like tips on getting the best results.
Love the steam
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for an upholstery/ carpet cleaner for a while and love that Bissell uses steam! I try to use minimal products or cleaner products in my home and love that this is an option. It's easy to use but comes with easy to follow instructions if needed, it's lightweight and easy to clean. It also has a cool self cleaning feature for the hand held attachment! It works really well, this is a picture of what it got out of my entryway carpet along with a good amount of dog hair. It's no longer grayish, it's more white again! I definitely need more practice with the hand held attachment though because I feel like some parts of my chair were left cleaner and others it left streaks or dark spots. I do wish the hand held attachment had a steam option and not just using water with the pre-treat. Overall a good cleaner though!
