Great home cleaner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I was very impressed with the cleaning power of this machine. I was shocked by how much dirt it pulled up from our carpets. Seeing the dirty water afterward made it clear that it was doing a very thorough job. It also handled sticky, stuck-on messes very well. Some spots required a couple of passes, but the results were worth it. Areas that had noticeable stains on our carpet completely disappeared after cleaning, which was really satisfying to see. I especially appreciated the steam power function and the fact that it uses real steam. It felt like an added layer of deep cleaning and disinfecting, which gave me more confidence that surfaces were not just looking clean but truly sanitized. The self-cleaning cycle was another highlight. It was very easy to use, and I liked that all of the parts could be easily removed afterward. Being able to leave them open to air dry makes long-term storage much simpler and helps keep the machine fresh. This cleaner feels well worth the price. The larger size, stronger power, and overall ability to clean make it a much more effective option for bigger jobs around the house compared to sprays or smaller cleaners. Overall, it's a powerful, convenient machine that did an excellent job tackling our carpets.

If you have a dog then you need this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a steam cleaner in my life, but when this arrived, I was genuinely so excited to try it, I went out and cleaned nearly every carpeted or rugged surface in my home in 48 hours. So I'm now well accustomed to it. And it works - well! My biggest “issue” was not vacuuming beforehand in one instance - which Bissel tells you specifically to do, so shame on me - which led to excess dog hair getting caught on the rotating elements. Otherwise, I had no issues. Carpet generally comes back clean and fairly dry though I think I need to improve my technique of removing all liquid and some spots remained damp a bit longer than expected. Still, it's every satisfying to use and the size and steam elements are very practical.

Powerful and satisfying clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hydrosteam cleaner is powerful! I like that it heats up and uses steam to deodorize and sanitize without a lot of harmful chemicals. The steam appears to loosen and lift up dirt better as well. Going over the carpet with a wet pass then a few dry passes to suck up most of the surface moisture helped it dry a little faster. My rug was nearly dry in less than a couple of hours, though I would definitely wait overnight before using it. While it is powerful, it is also very loud. With the included instructions, it was fairly easy to put together, though not entirely intuitive. It did leak all over at first but I believe it was user error. Every time I paused or stopped the machine, it also spurted out water on the bottom. But while it was wet, it was not a large puddle. It also required more passes to clean deep-seated dirt. It honestly didn't look like it was removing any old stains or grime but the dirty water tank at the end told a different story--it had sludge on the bottom when poured out. All the accessories and tools that came with the machine are very well thought out, down to the hose in a bag. There aren't too many parts to clean and they're not too hard to take apart and clean. Even included is a long tool that removes hair from the brush roll on one end and cleans out the nozzle on the other end. Also, the self-cleaning mode for the tool was magic! With just a click, it looked like it went into reverse mode from dirty to clean. I am very happy not to have to spend a lot of money renting a machine or hiring a commercial cleaner. I can't wait to use this on more applications, like cleaning upholstered car seats that we've been needing to deep clean.

The deep clean you need

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used a few carpet cleaners over the years, but the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam really stood out in terms of cleaning power. The first time I used it I could immediately see the difference in the carpet. It pulled up a lot of dirt that I didn't even realize was still in there, and the carpet looked brighter afterward. One thing I really liked was how well it handled sticky spots and older messes. Normally those take several passes, but using the steam pretreat seemed to loosen them up so they came out much easier. It was especially helpful in areas that get a lot of foot traffic. The steam feature is probably my favorite part of the machine. Knowing it's actually using real steam made it feel like it was doing a deeper clean, and it seemed to help break down stains before the brushes even got to them. The self-cleaning cycle was also a nice touch. It was really simple to run and saved me from having to take everything apart to rinse it out. Overall, it made cleanup after using the machine quick and easy. Overall, I'd say this cleaner is powerful, easy to use, and has a few features that make it feel like a step up from most standard carpet cleaners.

Easy Cleaning but long dry time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The short and simple review of this steamer is that it is extremely easy to use, the steamer extends this beyond just a stain remover, but also a way to refresh carpets. The only Con, is the dry time afterwards, but that is nearly just something that requires additional planning. I am a dad of two young girls, and while stains do happen, I feel we had more of an issue with refreshing our carpets that the kids play on all day every day. The steam clean function does a great job of truly making the carpets feel and smell like new. If you are using it to clean messes it does that pretty easily. Food stains that are still wet are obliterated as if they never happened. And since this is pretty easy to setup, pretty much a vacuum you just fill with water and cleaning solution and it's good to go. So getting to stains quickly is a snap. The one CON, but is likely more of an issue to be planned for is how wet this makes floors. When cleaning thinner area rugs you're looking at an hour or so (with fan) for this to dry. For room carpets with a bit thinker pile you're probably looking at a few hours or overnight for it to dry completely. I think this is mostly due to the suction power of it just being a stand up vacuum. Ventilation and how big a fan you use plays a factor, but still if you've ever rented a carpet cleaner do not expect the same suction power. The accessories for cleaning upholstery or small stains works exactly as you'd expect. It does have this self cleaning feature for this accessory hose where you can close off the end of the tool and it'll cycle water thru cleaning it. This was a new and easy feature to me that I thought was a nice addition but saw that this is becoming the norm on all new carpet machines. In the end I would recommend this for anyone with kids, especially if you wanting to refresh area rugs in a playroom/mud room to get out the general funk they get. This makes a big difference in the overall smell of the room without having to spray air freshener which you know are just masking an unpleasant scent. I would not recommend this if you have mostly thick/long pile carpet as this likely won't dry your carpet fast enough for it to be all that convenient.

Wonderful steam clean function

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm overall very happy with the new steam clean first Bissell shampooer. Unboxing and assembly is very simple and quick. I used to have another Bissell model that burned out and I have been without one for a while. First I tried this on my need to be replaced bedroom carpet. It's a light color and hasn't been cleaned in years. The first pass I thought the steam only was the only option, so make sure you are on the correct setting. There is no option to not use steam that I am aware. I figured out the correct way shortly after, and am pleased with results. My carpet felt so much cleaner and smelled really nice from the actual soap. It can't bring it back to life completely but I can tell a difference. The second area I tried was a 3” red ketchup stain on the same light oatmeal colored carpet. It's been neglected for months. I think the steam helped loosen the stain before soaping. This small area took a few passes but it did fully come up. I noticed that my carpet was dry much quicker than the older model (I'm talking just a few years old). The manual says 3-4 hrs I believe, and it actually was 3-4 hrs in areas that had a full soak of several passes with the trigger held. I am now a believer of the pre steam miracle. So happy to have this whole home steamer and tackle all of my furniture shortly!

Before you toss your carpets try this wet vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first got my hands on the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam, I approached it with skepticism. "Real steam" in a carpet cleaner sounded like marketing hype, but I was genuinely impressed. The cleaning power delivers, and what really won me over was how this machine handles the stubborn jobs that usually make me want to give up entirely. I had actually resigned myself to replacing the carpet in my living room after countless attempts at scrubbing stubborn stains by hand on my knees. But I decided to give the Revolution HydroSteam one last shot at revitalizing it. I absolutely hate wet carpet cleaners because they take days, or at the very least hours upon hours to dry, leaving everything soggy and making it feel like nothing gets accomplished. After just one use, I wasn't just pleasantly surprised, I was frankly completely amazed at how close to fully dry the carpet was after the entire process. This is such a game changer. The steam, which initially sounded like a gimmick, is absolutely worth it. You can literally see it working to loosen dirt and gunk. I was quite skeptical, but the steam power function is legitimately one of the best features here. There's a noticeable difference in the sections where I used the steam pretreat. You can clearly see from my photos where I used the steam pretreat; there's a cleaner line where the treated carpet meets the untreated areas, which really demonstrates the difference this feature makes. I'll be honest, I was bracing myself for a messy cleanup nightmare. But the self cleaning cycle is actually pretty straightforward and intuitive. It's easy to run and does a solid job of flushing out the gunk so you aren't left with a smelly machine sitting in your closet. I generally dislike cleaning my cleaning supplies after using them because it feels unnecessary and like extra work, but the design for this maintenance was so intuitive that it was actually satisfying. It was like using a blackhead pore strip to see all the gunk and grossness come out of my carpet (which I vacuum daily!). That really drove home how well my vacuum actually works and how much time it saves me. One minor note: the spinning brush doesn't come off easily, as you have to remove some screws and disassemble part of the machine. However, the HydroSteam comes with a tool that helps clean the hose door section and removes hair from the brush roller. I wasn't looking forward to that part since that's where you see the majority of the gunk on display (like a car windshield covered in bugs after a summer drive through the South). But the cleaning tool meant I didn't even have to touch the dirty part. I just had to wiggle it around and let the hot water do the work. Problem solved. The machine is surprisingly easy to push around, and the sections that need to be removed for filling with water and emptying dirty water are mostly easy to hold and transfer. The one thing I wish could be improved is easier access to the spinning brush, as the screw removal process is a bit cumbersome. I'd also appreciate a slightly cleaner design in the areas where the steam originates inside the machine. For a deep clean that actually tackles the impossible spots, the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam has earned its keep and is now a permanent member of my household.

The steam is a GAME CHANGER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been really impressed with the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. The biggest win for me is how little moisture it leaves behind thanks to the steam function. I also love actually seeing the steam working— it feels like it cleans better than any other heavy‑duty carpet cleaner I've used in the past. Because of the steam and strong absorption, my carpets were only slightly damp and dried much faster than I expected. It's also lightweight, easy to move and maneuver, and as a bonus, the design and copper color make it a much nicer‑looking machine than most carpet cleaners. In terms of performance, it pulled up a deep stain in just two passes, even after I had spent 30 minutes scrubbing it with another cleaner the night before with almost no success. I also really appreciate that it sucks carpet lint and hair directly into the dirty‑water bin instead of leaving clumps behind on the floor. Cleaning the machine is also simple, and most of the parts are easy to take apart and rinse. My only complaint is the clear suction piece on the front that pulls the water up. I'm not sure if anything can be changed about the design, but debris gets stuck in there at the end of cleaning, and it's hard to access or dry out. If possible, adding a small trap door on the back for easier drying would be a huge improvement, since I worry that those hard‑to‑reach areas might hold moisture and eventually lead to mold. Overall, the Hydrosteam does an excellent job and makes deep cleaning feel quick and manageable. I definitely recommend it—it's my favorite carpet cleaner/steamer to date. I'm also extremely excited to try it on my upholstery!

Powerful hydrosteam vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Are you looking for a cost-effective alternative to hiring a carpet cleaner? The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam carpet and upholstery cleaner is an excellent option for tackling carpet cleaning tasks yourself. This powerful cleaner is surprisingly lightweight, making it suitable for homes and smaller offices. The setup and cleanup process are straightforward, provided you read the instructions and give it a try. However, it's important to note that the water supply runs out quickly, so you'll need to refill it after cleaning a medium-sized room carpet. After using the carpet cleaner, your home will be filled with a pleasant, clean aroma. The hydrosteam feature effectively removes any visible stains, leaving your carpets looking newer and whiter. While I do have cats who run through occasionally, I have 3 kids who make plenty of messes. The carpets and rugs had old vomit, shoe dirt, and worn stains. The steam feature adds an extra layer of cleanliness to the carpet, making it feel more thoroughly cleaned. Cleaning up the machine is simple. I recommend rinsing everything thoroughly and setting it to dry immediately after the cleaning session. Overall, the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam carpet and upholstery cleaner is a valuable tool to have in your cleaning arsenal for yearly cleaning or unexpected spills.

Never renting a carpet cleaner again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been skeptical of home carpet cleaners, usually opting for rentals instead. I was under the impression the rental had more power, suction & better ability to clean. After using the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam I will never rent another carpet cleaner again. I am amazed at what a good job the Revolution Hydrosteam did. Our carpets are cleaned on a regular basis- both vacuuming & carpet cleaning. I was shocked at the amount of dirt & dog hair that was pulled out! The steam did an incredible job loosening dirt, debris & hair. I love knowing that this added feature also helped clean the carpet. I managed to get out stuck on smoothie & dirt from pets & kids. The machine was so easy to use and it moved back and forth on the carpet with ease. I love how easy it is to clean as well. The self clean hand held tools & pull back front panel means the machine cleans but can be cleaned thoroughly as well. I will absolutely be recommending this to family & friends!
