I was truly impressed with how easy it was to assemble this Hydrosteam. Immediately after assembling, which took a total of 4 minutes, I began to fill up the tank with water and cleaner. After placing the tank back on the device, the Hydrosteam was ready to go! Wowza - it got out the dirt stains, sticky chocolate and pasta sauce from our living room. The steam power function was powerful and very necessary for our family of messy kids (including our dog). Watching the dirty water inside the cleaner was satisfying and another testament to how much quality is displayed in this Bissel. Although I haven't utilized the self-cleaning function yet, I'm looking forward to saving time using this tool. We now have 3 Bissel devices and look forward to buying more!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My photos show a before and after, you'll see how well it worked on our neutral grey carpet by our highly trafficked front door. But first, the Bissel is much lighter and easier to push and pull than our last heavy, bulky carpet cleaner, its medium-small compact size makes it easy to store in the closet next to the vacuum cleaner, and it's simple to assemble out of the box. There's a tank for clean water plus cleaning solution and another tank for the dirty water suctioned off the carpet, both very simple to take off to fill or empty and then place back on the unit for use. The instruction booklet is clear and easy to understand, and the bag of attachments that comes in the box work great. Uncomplicated. I chose the MAX Clean plus Protect solution that came in the box, not the Pet solution since we don't have pets... but we do have a three year old that spilled black coffee on the carpet many months ago. After the unit preps the steam, you pull the trigger on the handle to dispense, release it to stop, and do passes back and forth to massage and suction the solution back into the dirty tank. I suggest more than a pass or two than the instructions say to make sure you're being thorough. The attachments were simple to use, too. But the real steam is what separates this unit from the rest -- it's like you're steam cleaning and shampoo-ing at the same time, and I have to say I was very impressed with the results. You can see in the first photo how dirty the carpet was, then in photo two what the carpet looked like just after cleaning, and the third photo is of the cleaning solution and the overall look of the carpet the day after. Some stuck-on dried applesauce from a few days ago lifted out of the carpet with just a few passes over the area. Granted, these photos may not do it justice but once we can do another round in a few months I have no doubt our carpet will be as nice as it can be -- not new, but next to new. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Seeing the dirty water afterward made it clear that it was doing a very thorough job. It also handled sticky, stuck-on messes very well. Right out of the box, this was so easy to put together and use. I didn't even have to hunt down a screwdriver, which is a huge win when you're multitasking. One of my favorite small details is the water tank cap. It actually stays open on its own while you're filling it, so there is no fumbling around or making a mess at the sink. Plus, I could get started the second I opened it because it comes with two cleaning solutions ready to go. I was genuinely shocked by the cleaning power. My kitchen runner looked "clean enough," but once I started, the dirty water tank told a different story. It pulled up so much hidden gunk and murky grey water. The colors in my rug actually look bright and vibrant again. It is incredibly satisfying to see that level of deep clean. I did notice it left behind some water droplets on the rug at first, but with a quick run over again they were gone and the floor was good to go. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a steam cleaner in my life, but when this arrived, I was genuinely so excited to try it, I went out and cleaned nearly every carpeted or rugged surface in my home in 48 hours. So I'm now well accustomed to it. And it works - well! My biggest “issue” was not vacuuming beforehand in one instance - which Bissel tells you specifically to do, so shame on me - which led to excess dog hair getting caught on the rotating elements. Otherwise, I had no issues. Carpet generally comes back clean and fairly dry though I think I need to improve my technique of removing all liquid and some spots remained damp a bit longer than expected. Still, it's every satisfying to use and the size and steam elements are very practical.

I had always wanted a good carpet cleaner, but I was unsure if it would be worth the money. I can honestly say I am so glad I was able to get this one because I was blown away with the results I got! So, our kids get messy, messy. We like to learn, play, and have fun, so that comes with big messes. This carpet cleaner had my floors looking amazingly clean without all the tough cleanup after. It's definitely a win win! The carpet in my youngest child's room was so stained with all kinds of things that I thought I would have to replace the carpet to get rid of it all. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that with a little elbow grease, most of the stuck-on funk was able to be lifted! It has a wider cleaning area than the tiny cleaners I've seen, so it got it done pretty quickly too. My mind was honestly blown. I absolutely loved the steam power function. One of my family members has a carpet cleaner, but when you use it, the carpet is so wet after that the kids can't even play in that room until the next day. This cleaner way surpassed that one because it was only slightly damp, and it dried in about two hours. I think that's because this one uses real steam, and that makes all the difference. I'm someone who gets the ick real bad from dirty floors but also someone who made the decision to get very light carpet (with little kids in the house no less!). I needed a real solution because hiring the pros to do it several times a year was not working with our budget or lifestyle. This Bissell has be obsessed, it's so easy to use and the results are intensely satisfying that even the mattresses in my house are getting a good cleaning these days! The machine is smaller and lighter than the cleaners you can typically rent and I LOVE the steam feature. I cleaned my carpets without and cleaners, only water and steam and I'll let the photos speak for themselves on how amazing it works. I used the hose and other attachments which doesn't support steam and will be adding photos of my dining room chairs that I used to be so embarrassed by, but now they look 100x better! The blue stain is acrylic paint and the green is a permanent marker. I used to dread cleaning up after cleaning but this Bissell has a self cleaning feature to clean the brush and it makes that part so much more tolerable. I do with it came with the docking station to be able to use that feature but it was worth the cost to me! I wish I could add more photos of all my before and afters! I reallly love this cleaner! I've had others and this is the best one I've owned and no more pro needed!

I was under the impression the rental had more power, suction & better ability to clean. After using the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam I will never rent another carpet cleaner again. I am amazed at what a good job the Revolution Hydrosteam did. Our carpets are cleaned on a regular basis- both vacuuming & carpet cleaning. I was shocked at the amount of dirt & dog hair that was pulled out! The steam did an incredible job loosening dirt, debris & hair. I love knowing that this added feature also helped clean the carpet. I managed to get out stuck on smoothie & dirt from pets & kids. The machine was so easy to use and it moved back and forth on the carpet with ease. I love how easy it is to clean as well. The self clean hand held tools & pull back front panel means the machine cleans but can be cleaned thoroughly as well. I will absolutely be recommending this to family & friends!
