[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What did you think of the overall cleaning power? How well did it tackle sticky, stuck-on messes? What did you think of the steam power function? Did you appreciate that it uses real steam? What did you think of the self-cleaning cycle? How easy was it to use? I really wish I could say that I loved this carpet cleaner. I currently own a Bissell and it outperforms this model in its overall power. With this model, a lot of water is left behind and took about 48 hours to dry. It did remove stains and sticky stuff that my kids had left on the rug and the couch really well. The steam power function was also a plus. I thought it was great that it used real steam to clean. This cleaner was also VERY easy to clean. The self cleaning cycle did a really great job of flushing the dirt and debris from the brush roll and inner components of the machine. Overall, this unit cleans pretty well. I just wish it had more power to suck up the water it is leaving behind.
Thanks for sharing your experience, AbithaMarie. We’re glad to hear the machine lifted stains and that the steam feature and self‑cleaning cycle worked well for you. Leaving behind too much water usually means the dirty water tank or brush roll needs a quick cleaning, or the machine may be moving too slowly across the carpet. A Game Changer for Effortless Carpet Cleaning
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I keep my home fairly clean and vacuum regularly, but I was genuinely impressed by how much the Bissell Revolution Hydro Clean still pulled from my carpets. The water turned noticeably gray after use, which really speaks to its strong suction and deep-cleaning power. Even without visible stains or sticky messes, it lifted dirt and debris that a regular vacuum simply doesn't catch. While I didn't have tough spills to test, I feel confident it would handle common stains like juice or wine with ease. One of my favorite features is the real steam function—it made my carpets feel noticeably fluffier and helped them dry faster, which is a huge plus. The self-cleaning cycle is a standout. With other carpet cleaners, I've had to take everything apart to prevent buildup and mold, but this makes maintenance incredibly simple and stress-free. It's truly a lifesaver.
Tough on stains
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had low expectations for this machine, as I haven't been impressed with carpet cleaners in the past. I was so surprised at how well it pulled up very old stains in my couch and carpet! The steam function was directly responsible for pulling up not only the spots in my carpet, but layers of dirt I didn't realize were there. But the winner on the machine is the 2 in 1 tool—-I loved being able to get into the crevices of my couch. It was especially effective at cleaning the arms. The only drawback was drying the water tank. The hole to drain water is pretty small, so it took a long time to dry.
Steam is a game changer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for letting me test this item! First of all, this is one of the most pleasingly aesthetic carpet cleaners I have ever seen! It feels and looks well made! This steam cleaner did an elite job compared to others that I've tried! The steam function is impressive in that I felt like it did a great job sanitizing and getting stains out. This carpet cleaner did a great job on fresh and old stains alike from kids, pets, and life in general. I did try to use it to get some old Play-Doh off, but it wasn't entirely successful. I still had to scrape at it and a stain was left over, but that's the only stain I wasn't able to substantially remove! Initially I was concerned that it was going to leave my carpets wetter than expected, but it did not! Additionally I was intimidated by how well made it was and was worried it would be too hard to clean, but the self clean feature knocked my socks off! This carpet cleaner is phenomenal! I highly recommend it for families with kids and or pets!
So Glad I found This
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been really impressed with the overall performance of the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam. The cleaning power alone makes it stand out—after just one pass, my carpets looked noticeably brighter and felt genuinely clean, not just surface-level refreshed. One of the biggest tests in my house is sticky, set-in messes (hello kids), and this machine handled them surprisingly well. Spots that I honestly thought were permanent lifted with minimal effort, especially when I went over them slowly. It didn't take multiple rounds or a ton of scrubbing, which I really appreciated. The steam function is what really sets this apart. You can actually see and feel the difference with the real steam—it gives you that deeper clean feeling and helps loosen grime in a way that standard carpet cleaners just don't. It made tackling tougher areas feel a lot easier and more effective. I also loved the self-cleaning cycle. It's super simple to use and takes the hassle out of maintenance, which is a huge plus because I don't want to spend extra time cleaning the machine after I've already cleaned my floors. It felt quick, straightforward, and honestly makes me more likely to use the machine regularly. Overall, this feels like a powerful, well-thought-out cleaner that actually delivers on what it promises—especially for busy households dealing with real-life messes.
Great Machine!
I have owned several bissells before this, and this one takes the cake. It cleans SO well. It uses alot of water, but it cleans so fast and so completely. I have been bragging about this to my mom over and over. It also has fantastic suction, and leaves the floor pretty dry. Besides the cleaning, it is such an improvement over the pet revolution, as everything comes apart with the push of a button, and can be cleaned in easily seconds. The plastic base is also great, as it allows it to drain and dry in between cleaning. Bissel really knocked it out of the park with this one.
Best carpet and upholstery cleaner out there
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After paying a carpet cleaning company to clean my carpets for me several times a year I'm sooo thrilled to now have the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. I'm someone who gets the ick real bad from dirty floors but also someone who made the decision to get very light carpet (with little kids in the house no less!). I needed a real solution because hiring the pros to do it several times a year was not working with our budget or lifestyle. This Bissell has be obsessed, it's so easy to use and the results are intensely satisfying that even the mattresses in my house are getting a good cleaning these days! The machine is smaller and lighter than the cleaners you can typically rent and I LOVE the steam feature. I cleaned my carpets without and cleaners, only water and steam and I'll let the photos speak for themselves on how amazing it works. I used the hose and other attachments which doesn't support steam and will be adding photos of my dining room chairs that I used to be so embarrassed by, but now they look 100x better! The blue stain is acrylic paint and the green is a permanent marker. I used to dread cleaning up after cleaning but this Bissell has a self cleaning feature to clean the brush and it makes that part so much more tolerable. I do with it came with the docking station to be able to use that feature but it was worth the cost to me! I wish I could add more photos of all my before and afters! I reallly love this cleaner! I've had others and this is the best one I've owned and no more pro needed!
Powerful and satisfying clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hydrosteam cleaner is powerful! I like that it heats up and uses steam to deodorize and sanitize without a lot of harmful chemicals. The steam appears to loosen and lift up dirt better as well. Going over the carpet with a wet pass then a few dry passes to suck up most of the surface moisture helped it dry a little faster. My rug was nearly dry in less than a couple of hours, though I would definitely wait overnight before using it. While it is powerful, it is also very loud. With the included instructions, it was fairly easy to put together, though not entirely intuitive. It did leak all over at first but I believe it was user error. Every time I paused or stopped the machine, it also spurted out water on the bottom. But while it was wet, it was not a large puddle. It also required more passes to clean deep-seated dirt. It honestly didn't look like it was removing any old stains or grime but the dirty water tank at the end told a different story--it had sludge on the bottom when poured out. All the accessories and tools that came with the machine are very well thought out, down to the hose in a bag. There aren't too many parts to clean and they're not too hard to take apart and clean. Even included is a long tool that removes hair from the brush roll on one end and cleans out the nozzle on the other end. Also, the self-cleaning mode for the tool was magic! With just a click, it looked like it went into reverse mode from dirty to clean. I am very happy not to have to spend a lot of money renting a machine or hiring a commercial cleaner. I can't wait to use this on more applications, like cleaning upholstered car seats that we've been needing to deep clean.
Carpet Like New
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first standup carpet cleaner I've owned. Since getting a cat, I figured it was time. We've had stains on the carpet from stuff coming out both ends of the cat that we couldn't quite completely remove with a hand-held. The Bissell was easy to prep, with lines showing where to fill with water and with cleaner. The steam light went on in under 30 seconds as advertised. It took a few seconds to get going after pulling the trigger, then the steam/water was consistent afterwards. It has impressive cleaning power, both with the suction and the brush roller. When I was all done and the carpet had dried, those stubborn stains were gone. Having the steam option made all of the difference in getting a carpet that looks as clean as when it was first installed. The cleaning was a cinch. The base popped off and the hair catch slid right out. It picked up more human and cat hair than my vacuum did. Throw the hair in the garbage, rinse out the tanks and brush guard, give it a quick wipe down, then leave it out to dry.
The steam is a GAME CHANGER
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been really impressed with the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. The biggest win for me is how little moisture it leaves behind thanks to the steam function. I also love actually seeing the steam working— it feels like it cleans better than any other heavy‑duty carpet cleaner I've used in the past. Because of the steam and strong absorption, my carpets were only slightly damp and dried much faster than I expected. It's also lightweight, easy to move and maneuver, and as a bonus, the design and copper color make it a much nicer‑looking machine than most carpet cleaners. In terms of performance, it pulled up a deep stain in just two passes, even after I had spent 30 minutes scrubbing it with another cleaner the night before with almost no success. I also really appreciate that it sucks carpet lint and hair directly into the dirty‑water bin instead of leaving clumps behind on the floor. Cleaning the machine is also simple, and most of the parts are easy to take apart and rinse. My only complaint is the clear suction piece on the front that pulls the water up. I'm not sure if anything can be changed about the design, but debris gets stuck in there at the end of cleaning, and it's hard to access or dry out. If possible, adding a small trap door on the back for easier drying would be a huge improvement, since I worry that those hard‑to‑reach areas might hold moisture and eventually lead to mold. Overall, the Hydrosteam does an excellent job and makes deep cleaning feel quick and manageable. I definitely recommend it—it's my favorite carpet cleaner/steamer to date. I'm also extremely excited to try it on my upholstery!
