[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell revolution hydrostream is an excellent vacuum and carpet cleaner. I love how easy it is to set up straight out of the box. Insert the handle, and pretty much ready to go. The Clean water tank is simple to fill up with the carpet cleaner solution and water. I will say the solution runs out very quickly especially if you have large stains in the carpet. I was able to clean multiple rooms at my house and the carpets look very clean. I was impressed to see how dirty it was to begin with. Now I feel like my house is a lot cleaner especially having kids running around the carpet all day long. The vacuum itself comes with a few accessories to clean couche and other spot treat areas. It has a built-in steam function that is ready and no more than 35 seconds, I timed it and it's fairly accurate. I'm able to pre-treat certain spots in the carpet using just steam and then deep clean and shampoo right after. I love that feature. The only thing I would say that is kind of a bummer for me is the drying feature as it takes quite some time to dry. Not a deal breaker but would be nice for a quick dry function that is powerful. The holding the handle down and release to dry is something to get used to as well. It's not overly loud compared to other vacuums I've used before but it definitely isn't quite. It does the job well, it is very effective. It's also a bit bulky and heavy but is expected from carpet cleaners.

The steam function worked well to pick up stuck-on toddler-created messes including- vomit, play-dough, marker, crayon, blood, spit up, and potty training accidents. It also did a fantastic job cleaning cloth chairs that go with our kitchen table. All food stains that those chairs had accumulated over the past 4 years were completely removed by this product! I loved that it uses real steam to lift the stuck on messes and felt that it was giving my floors, carpets, cloth chairs and recliners a total reboot making them look good as new. The self cleaning cycle was very easy to use and saved lots of time and effort at the end of the cleaning process. The instruction manual was clear, easy to follow and included lots of helpful diagrams. It was very satisfying to see the dirty water tank as you are cleaning. Getting a visual of all the stuck on dirt motivated me to want to use the product more. It also confirmed my distrust of rented products of this nature. I would not want to use the same machine on my own floors that another person had in their home. The only mildly difficult step was reassembling the filter after cleaning the machine, but a Youtube search on how to cleared up the confusion and after doing it once, I will know how to reinstall it again.

There is always a spill, often a stain, and a lot of the time, a sticky mess. To make this even more troublesome, I have severe environmental allergies and must keep things very clean or I risk a hospital visit for my allergy induced asthma. I am not someone who uses a carpet cleaner only seasonally, but rather, I use it quite regularly. With the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam, I was intrigued at the cleaning possibility and performance with the added steam focus. I was not disappointed. This machine is quite powerful and really leaves my home feeling much cleaner without added effort. I prefer to clean with steam for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it really seems to kill off those nasty allergens that literally keep me up at night, coughing and wheezing. My family just moved into our home with brand-new carpet and I expected to not have much to pick up, even in our high-traffic areas. I was surprised that we had such murky water in the dirty water tank! Surprised, and very delighted to see that it was lifted in the first round of cleaning! Being able to see the steam at work was very cool. I watched as little tufts of steam puffed out from the front of the machine like the smokestack on the Little Engine That Could. I love that I can see the detergent and water being sucked up out of the carpet and upholstery so that I can see immediately that the machine is working. I am a big fan of the steam power function, and I think it does help to better clean surfaces when comparing results from this machine to others I have used in the past. I love the self-cleaning function, especially on the upholstery tool. This model certainly made me happy. I have rheumatoid arthritis, so a lot of what I need in any appliance is ease of use and cleaning as well as maneuverability. Though the Hydrosteam has some weight to it, I found it to be very easy to assemble and maneuver, and it was a breeze to clean. The nozzle, catch and clean tray, and accessory hose door were a bit more stiff to detach and reattach, yet still not prohibitive. Both the clean and dirty water tanks are so easy to place and remove. The clean water tank has a lid that stays open for easy filling and two fill guide lines, one for a small area and one for a large area. I found that filling to the "small area" line gives me the perfect amount of solution for those more frequent cleanings of high traffic areas like entryways and hallways. This highly maneuverable and easy to clean machine is very effective in cleaning both my carpet and an awful stain on my couch cushion left by my husband's coffee spill. I am very pleased with this Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. I highly recommend to anyone who needs to use a carpet cleaner frequently, as the self-cleaning option, easy to clean parts, and seemless operation made the process almost effortless.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to preface this by saying that my husband is ocd and vacuums our downstairs daily, sometimes multiple times a day. I got this steamer because I have pets and toddlers in the house and they tend to make messes that a regular vacuum cleaner can't clean. I ended up cleaning the main couch we sit on, the rug, and carpeted rooms upstairs and I was amazed at how easy it was to set up and begin using. I followed directions and pre treated the stains, using the bissel solution it came with and then went over it with the steamer. The results were sensational. It looks like I professionally got this done and it only took a little over the hour. The water in the steamer was disgustingly black. I was shocked at how dirty our floors and upholstery was considering that we clean daily and keep our house pretty clean. My recommendation is to pretreat the stains prior to going over it with the steamer. Use the hose for the furniture and small spaces as it gives you the flexibility to scrub the stains a bit before applying suction. Also, if you do end up cleaning upholstery, do allow for some time for it to dry completely before using.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam impressed me from start to finish. The first room that I cleaned with it was an enclosed porch with cream carpet. It lifted stains from shoes that I haven't been able to get up in years. The directions were clear, and assembly was as simple as snapping a few parts together. The next room I did was my children's playroom. Even though we don't allow food in there the Hydrosteam did bring up the food they've managed to get stuck on the carpet with ease. The biggest perk that I want to stress the most is that the dirty water reservoir is much improved, easy to clean, with a removable top. When I emptied it, it had brought up so much dirt that there was actually a half inch layer on the bottom of the container that rinsed out quickly. I was tickled to see the steam billowing out from the sides of the machine and I truly feel that made a large difference in the cleaning ability. Usually when writing a review I try to list some pros and cons so that people know all of the good and bad but I do have to say that I found no cons while using this product. It's been a lifesaver and down the road if this ever needs replacing (because with two toddlers we clean messes often) I would absolutely replace it with the same model.

The cleaning power is incredibly strong and takes out stains easily and quickly, even ones that have been stuck on for awhile. My couch had some stains on it from my toddler, and after using the self-cleaning tool, it easily took the stains right out and you could see the dirty water compartment filling right up. I steamed our carpet, and seeing the real steam coming out and pulling up stains and dirt that I didn't even realize were there was impressive. I like that you have the option to pretreat with just steam or utilize the steam while you are cleaning depending on the mess you are cleaning. The Hydrosteam is easy to put together and also easy to take apart in order to clean the pieces. The compartments for water are large and the Hydrosteam tool itself is very sleek looking with gold accents. My only complaint is that this Bissell Hydrosteam is heavy so if you need to carry it up and down stairs it may be a hassle, but bringing room to room is easy as it is on wheels and glides nicely. This Hydrosteam looks and works great, and really gets carpet and couches clean where you can truly see its cleaning power as you are using it and in a short amount of time. Even my toddler was excited about using it and seeing how it steamed, and wanting to help out with spraying the self-cleaning tool on the couch!

The cleaning power is great and removed every stain (even the stain in my kid's playroom that had been there for years). The steam clean and the steam pre-treat breaks down tough sticky messes. I could see the steam in action! The clean water and dirty water compartments were easy to changeout. The whole device felt well-built and will last me a long time. I am very pleased with this carpet cleaner.

This vacuum is absolutely AWESOME! I have two young kids and a dog, and let me tell you, ignorance was bliss. I genuinely didn't realize how filthy my carpets were until I got my hands on this amazing machine. When it comes to the overall cleaning power, I was completely blown away. Even on rugs that didn't look awful to the naked eye, the sheer amount of dirt picked up by this thing was incredible (and honestly, a little terrifying). I had one old carpet that I thought was totally beyond repair and destined for the dumpster. While it's not 100% perfect now, it looks SO much better and has a completely new lease on life. It handled sticky syrup stains, pet urine, and other mystery stains like an absolute champ. A huge part of that success comes down to the steam power function. I truly appreciated that it uses real steam rather than just hot water. It worked wonders to clean and sanitize my rugs, and I loved how I could specifically target the absolute worst kid and dog messes and watch them melt away. Finally, as a busy parent, convenience is key. Straight out of the box, the vacuum was very easy to put together and figure out. I also couldn't be happier with how easy it was to clean. After pulling up all that dirt and pet mess, not having to work even harder to clean the machine is the ultimate luxury. If you have kids, pets, or just want the satisfaction of a truly clean home, you need this! 10/10 recommend.

I'm not sure anything is being cleaned so much as it's being soaked in soap. It doesn't dry at all. Even the instructions say it can take up to 8 hours to dry because they know the cleaner isn't going to do it. The steam function is negligible and limited. The instructions say don't use the steam function on urine or blood. The two things that you would most want to steam treat and disinfect. The brushes pile up soap on the carpet since suction is awful and since it doesn't have a separate fresh water tank from soap, there's no cleaning that up without emptying the tank and coming back with clean water. I'm sure I'll be replacing molding or mildewed carpets in short order

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an incredible carpet cleaner! I have 7 kids, age 1-13, and as any person who interacts with kids knows, they make a lot of messes. You name the potential stain, I'm sure one of my children has left it behind on my carpet at one time or another. I am a longtime fan of Bissell products and have owned their floor cleaners, hand helds, and carpet cleaners. The Revolution Hydrosteam is by far my new favorite! This machine has power!! I appreciate that the steam came to temperature quickly and totally added to the cleaning power of the machine. I used it in the office/playroom where my kids frequently play with play-dough and use expo markers, while eating the occasional lolly pop. With a few passes, the Revolution Hydrosteam effortlessly removed the stains! The suction power is superior and my carpet was left the slightest bit damp after cleaning. I also brought the machine to my son's room where he puked a few months ago. At the time I cleaned and disinfected the carpet with my hand held followed by my carpet cleaner. The carpet looks clean but the texture was a little off and I could still detect a slight odor. The Revolution Hydrosteam has eradicated the odor and the texture is back to normal. What a life saver!! Cleanup was a breeze. The dirty water tank has a large opening that makes it easy to clean and disinfect. I like how the black tray inside the brush roll cover can be removed. It was easy to wash and wipe out all the carpet lint that can get stuck in other machines. The only improvement I'd make is to extend the power cord. I found it to be a little short for some of my rooms. I don't often use the hand held tough stain tool, but I do appreciate its self cleaning capability. Anything that can clean itself is a plus in my book! Overall, the Revolution Hydrosteam is a powerful carpet cleaner. The steam truly sets it apart from other carpet cleaners and adds to the stain cleaning power of this machine.
