It basically did as good of a job as the ones you can rent. However it isn't the perfect cleaner. Here are the issues you should be aware of. Even when you have shut it off and it will continue to slowly drip water. Some other models have a tray you can set them on when they aren't being used so that you don't have to worry about them slowly leaking cleaner on the floor... this one doesn't come with any type of tray so you need to make sure and have a place to set it where you don't mind it leaking cleaner from inside on the floor. Another issue is the suction of it isn't great. You will end up making one pass to put the cleaning fluid down on the carpet but then have to make a half dozen very slow passes back over that sport before you stop seeing water sucking up into it... and still your carpet will be damp/wet for at least 6 to 8 hours and that is if you have fans blowing on it. So don't expect it to dry quickly, it wont. Other issue only matters if you live in a two story house. It is a pain in the backside to take up and down stairs, not because it is that every but because it doesn't provide any good places to grab hold of it for carrying it up and down stairs. A handle of some kind that you could carry it with would have been a nice thing for it but it has none. Oh, and the cord is relatively short for a carpet cleaner. If you have large rooms you'll either be having to unplug it and plug it in multiple places or get an extension cord.

Absolutely the best Bissell Carpet Scrubber I have owned and this is my third one. I literally use them so much I wear them out. I have been very pleased with all of them but this one is definitely superior to the ones I've had prior to this. I was concerned about the price but I have found that it is worth every penny. Its's cleaning capabilities are amazing. I would recommend to everyone.

The cleaning power is comparable to having a professional carpet cleaning company come to your house. I was shocked by how much filth was removed from an area rug in our dining area. Several deep stains and stuck-on messes were lifted and removed during use of the steam power function. It's so easy to use and versatile too. We were able to clean my son's mattress using the handheld component. I'm very satisfied that the steam reaches such a high temperature to kill lingering bacteria and germs. I'd recommend this carpet cleaner to anyone looking to keep carpets, mattresses, or upholstered furniture clean.

It is a no brainer when it comes to assembling it. Easy peasy! I like that it has an option for a cleaning mode and additional hose and attachments. The steaming feature works well and it really does the job and you can literally see the grime and dirt being sunction so you know it really does it's job! It is so easy to clean the attachments and brush rolls. I would definitely recommend it to a friend! It is a must-have! Great product!

The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam truly exceeded my expectations and is my new favorite household cleaning tool. I have two small children and live in a climate that frequently experiences snow/slush, rain and lots of mud, yet somehow still have a white rug near one of my entry doors. That rug has been cleaned so many times over the years but has never truly been white again. Using the steam function of the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam along with the Bissell carpet cleaning solution, I was able to make my white rug look as good as new! I could hardly believe how quickly and easily this tool was able to make such a huge difference. I wish I had a before and after! The tool itself is very user friendly and intuitive to use. The steam function is automatic and works like a charm. Several sticky spots on my rugs and carpet have been removed effortlessly. I really love the hose attachment to get into hard to reach areas or to use as an upholstery cleaner. Aside from how effective this tool is my favorite part is how simple it is to clean after you're finished using it. Every plastic cover and nozzle comes apart so that every last bit of gunk can be removed, leaving your machine like it's never been used. Who likes a carpet cleaner that's got years of built up icky-ness inside? not me! You will never experience that with this machine. It also has a very simple self cleaning mode- I did have to refer to the user manual to learn how to use this function. Overall this machine is very easy to use and is able to tackle tough cleaning jobs with ease. The only cons I encountered are the machine is heavy and a tad bulky. I do appreciate that the machine came with a bag to store its attachments though I would like if the attachments could be stored on the machine itself somehow. Overall, I would highly recommend it.

I used it on a short pile carpet with some set-in stains I wasn't confident would come out, and it handled them without much effort on my part. One thing I appreciated was that the carpets didn't feel drenched afterward, which is a common complaint with carpet cleaners in general. Drying time was reasonable.
