The product was easy to assemble, and the instructions were clear. It even comes with some cleaning solution to get you started. The obvious first choice was tackling a white rug in an area of high traffic. I spot treated some areas with stain remover as instructed and did the steam pre-treat. I then went over the whole area rug steam cleaning. The size of the tank was perfect. The steam never stopped, the heating light stayed lit and the amount of water dispensed onto the rug didn't soak through. We are a “no shoes” house with regular vacuuming and the dirty water tank after cleaning just half the rug was already brown. Just as the manual indicated, it took about 3-4 hours to dry. The results were great, with the spots all gone! The rug was looking pretty dingy before and has been totally brought back to life. The upright format is ergonomic and facilitates cleaning in a larger space. I do wish the steam worked with the attachment but it is great to have the attachment options even without it. It is worth mentioning this machine is not lightweight. It is very heavy- it takes effort to push and pull as the vacuuming is manual, and even more so to carry up the stairs. It is likewise bulky to store however the dirty water tank is easy to remove and light to carry and clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This steam vacuum was able to get up messes from my kids and my dogs, including baby formula in the carpet, dog throw up, and food that was grounded into the carpet. However, I found that its suction power was less than expected, as it left the carpet pretty damp when I expected it to pull up the water that was being used to steam clean. The machine itself is quite large and bulky so it's difficult to maneuver around tight spaces like between couches and coffee tables. It is also heavy, which I thought would help. It's section power however it didn't seem to correlate. I did like that it used real steam instead of chemicals or abrasives to get out stains so I didn't damage the carpet or upholstery. The buttons were easy to learn and use, and there were only a few settings possible. The self cleaning function worked okay, but I still needed to manually clean it after. It also seemed to pull up a lot of fibers out of the carpet when steaming which made the machine kind of messy to clean at the end. Overall, this machine meets the need to clean, tough stains and sticky situations out of fibers, but don't expect it to dry the materials as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never thought I would be literally giddy about a carpet cleaner, but here we are. This Bissell has outdone every single one of my expectations. I have four small children, and it feels like every other day they're creating some small disaster on my carpet/upholstery, such as sticky food messes, mud, or the unfortunate side effects of potty training. Usually with my old machine I would put off cleaning everything up because it was such a hassle, but the revolution hydrosteam makes it SO EASY. Set up takes no time and all, and my favorite part is how quickly I can clean the whole machine when I'm done—it seriously takes less than a minute to rinse and clean everything out, especially with the self-cleaning cycle (I literally did the self-clean like six different times my first time using the machine just because it was so satisfying). The suction/cleaning power of it is also incredible, so it takes way less time to clean the actual messes, which is so nice when I don't have a ton of time. I also love that it has steam power!! It's a very unique feature that solves some of my biggest mess headaches. I seriously cannot recommend this machine enough!

We're currently potty training at our house so the rugs have needed a few extra cleanings lately, and it's done a great job getting the messes out. It handled some sticky spots really well too. I like the steam feature because it feels like it's giving the carpets a deeper clean. The self-cleaning cycle is also really easy to use, which I appreciate because I don't have a lot of time to deal with complicated cleanup. Overall it's been really helpful to have aroun esp with little kids and the their mess.

We have a lot of carpet and rugs in our old house and with pets and kids, we were in desperate need of a new carpet cleaner. The steam cleaning is a really cool feature on this machine and (not that this is too important) the machine itself is actually very cute. Assembly takes less than 5 minutes and it really is a breeze to start using. Once turned on, the vacuum heats up and a light turns on to indicate the steam feature is ready. You can literally see the carpet being steamed as you use it, which makes me feel like it is really getting clean. The side by side of my rugs is unbelievable - completely revived! The soap that came with the machine smells nice, but isn't too fragrant and it worked wonders. I also love that I can purchase soap refills separately. The suction of the vacuum leaves my carpets and rugs damp but not soaking wet which I appreciate. It actually dries way faster than when I've used other machines in the past. Emptying and cleaning the vacuum is also pretty simple, though I will say there are several chambers and parts in the cleaning manual. I probably am not cleaning my machine by the book every time, but it seems to function fine. Overall, I'm really happy with this carpet cleaner and foresee it getting lots of good use in our house!

I'm a busy working mom of a young toddler and a dog who hosts family and their pets regularly in the suburbs. So, we see a lot of random messes and stains. I will read instructions to get an initial understanding, but then prefer when something is easy to access and use without too much complexity. Design & ease of use: This cleaner packs a lot of power and functionality into a nice, sleek design. I love that it's multi-functional, so I can use it to deep clean my carpets and then use the hose attachment on couches or chairs. I prefer to reduce clutter in my home, so it helps when I can consolidate appliances into all-in-one options. For a powerful stand-up machine, it was very simple to assemble and easy to maneuver across multiple kinds of carpets. The included storage bag is a small thing that made it easy to keep all of the attachments and the instruction manual in one place. Swapping out attachments was really easy, and they clicked into place very sturdily. The water compartments are also easy to fit under faucets and can sit flat on the counter to make sure you're filling up to the right line. I love how it takes up the same footprint in my cleaning closet as a normal stand-up vacuum, and I'm a huge fan of the bronze/copper accent color! Pets: I tested it out first using the included Pet Pro oxy urine eliminator pet solution to clean some old stains that I found at my parents' house under a chair when moving things around. Despite the spots being there for likely months, this cleaned all of them almost instantly and the carpet looks like it was never dirty (before and after photos included!) Because of the included instructions, I didn't use the pre-steam functionality on this area and had great results. I was shocked at how easy it was, and the carpets dried same day. High-traffic carpet: Then, I used the Pro Max clean + protect solution on some seasonable Christmas rugs. Filling the water compartment to the small area line, I was able to apply a significant amount of solution and still clean 3 rugs - one 3x5 area rug, one rectangular kitchen runner, and one indoor doormat. It was incredible to see how dirty the water was after! It really picked up a lot of the dirt and salt from the winter snowy season here. Both cleaning solutions smelled really pleasant afterward too. I loved being able to use the steam power after applying the solution to really get a good deep cleaning in and help start the drying process too. It only takes a few minutes to get into a rhythm and figure out what works best for your carpets. Take their advice though and vacuum up before you use it to clean! But also, huge shoutout to their filter system for catching the dog hair and loose fibers (that I couldn't even see) without gumming up the internal mechanisms. It was very simple to wipe the filter with a small towel and it was ready to go again. Overall, this is a fantastic machine that's easy to use in multiple essential ways, is quite powerful, and has a small footprint for the functionality it offers. I'm excited to continue trying out all of the different accessories and cleaning solutions on different kinds of messes that pop up with a toddler and dogs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first standup carpet cleaner I've owned. Since getting a cat, I figured it was time. We've had stains on the carpet from stuff coming out both ends of the cat that we couldn't quite completely remove with a hand-held. The Bissell was easy to prep, with lines showing where to fill with water and with cleaner. The steam light went on in under 30 seconds as advertised. It took a few seconds to get going after pulling the trigger, then the steam/water was consistent afterwards. It has impressive cleaning power, both with the suction and the brush roller. When I was all done and the carpet had dried, those stubborn stains were gone. Having the steam option made all of the difference in getting a carpet that looks as clean as when it was first installed. The cleaning was a cinch. The base popped off and the hair catch slid right out. It picked up more human and cat hair than my vacuum did. Throw the hair in the garbage, rinse out the tanks and brush guard, give it a quick wipe down, then leave it out to dry.

What I appreciate about this steamer is its long heavy duty power cord, use of plastic that does not feel cheap or flimsy but reduces weight, ease of use, components that fit together with a snap, and its efficiency at cleaning recent messes. To set expectations, it does not remove old stains from dyes or bleach, it isn't light compared to a vacuum, and it isn't self-cleaning (even if it has this mode, you will still need to clean it to keep it in good working condition). The weight is reasonable as this is a steamer and not a stick vacuum, and Bissell did a great job including balancing quality parts for a reasonable weight. It works well to clean recent spills, so don't expect a miracle with something that cannot be removed like a dye, old stain, or bleached product to return back to its original color. As the instructions mention, this product can clean up accidents with slime, jelly, honey, syrup, chocolate sauce, blood, wine, urine, mud, juice, grease, vomit, baby food, and spaghetti sauce. As this is a cleaning product that you may use occasionally, it can pull up a lot of gunk, so it is best to clean it after each use. It's super easy to clean with a quick rinse of each piece.

We kept getting grease stains all over our carpet upstairs. It took us a while to figure out where the grease stains came from. The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam got those stains out ENTIRELY! I was so excited to try it that I forgot to take before pictures of the grease upstairs. I did have to do it once, let it dry, and the clean it twice to make it go away entirely, but it was totally worth it. The pictures I've shared are from our downstairs carpet where it is highly trafficked. We had some grease stains there. The pictures show how it looks after once over. I'm certain they will be gone after the carpet drys and I do it again. The hose self cleans, which is amazing. And the top of the main suction part comes apart entirely so an EASY clean. My last carpet cleaner got mold there because we couldn't take it apart, so this was awesome. I think the steam cleaning portion of the vacuum really makes a difference. I will say that the solution they want you to use is very strong. I recommend planning to be able to ventilate well while it drys. I also tried it on my couch and it looks amazing!

I've been using it for a few weeks and - unfortunately - had more than enough opportunity to put it to the test. On rugs and carpets, the Revolution Hydrosteam does a fantastic job cutting through fibers and separating messes, while the strong suction helps to get everything up. On hard floors, the steam makes cleaning stuck-on messes so simple while hearing, seeing and feeling the steam reminds me that my floor is cleaner than it was before. My favorite part is how it's built to handle the biggest messes. The tank is massive so I'm spending less time emptying and refilling, and instead am able to knock messes out in one hit. There's no getting around the noise, however, so expect a loud process. But the noise - to me - is a reminder that there's a lot of power being generated and helping me to get my house back to normal. Nobody likes cleaning up big messes, but a tool like this is good for when the time comes.
