We used to have a carpet cleaner that didn't have a heat function, and while it was better than a towel and spray, it never felt truly clean. This Bissell Revolution HydroSteam is on a completely different level. The amount of dirt and brown water this machine pulled out using the steam was eye-opening. Remember, I clean my carpets with a regular carpet cleaner and the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam showed how much dirt was still left behind Even with pet accidents or toddler messes, the stains were gone in just one or two passes. The steam really knocks out those set-in stains that usually won't budge. It's also surprisingly easy to maintain. Everything snaps apart easily, and the catch-and-clean tray was full of hair and debris—proof it's actually digging deep into the fibers. To help with drying, I followed the directions for "dry passes" to suck up as much water as possible. The carpets were damp but dry enough to walk on pretty quickly with fans running. I also set the tanks outside after rinsing them to speed up the drying time of the machine itself before putting it away. Just a heads-up: it goes through a tank of solution fairly quickly if you're doing heavy-duty cleaning, so expect more than a few refills for a whole room. But the fresh scent of the Bissell pet cleaning solution leaves behind is worth it. It gives me peace of mind knowing the floors are actually clean enough for my kids to play on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Earlier this year, I loaned my Bissell ProHeat upright carpet cleaner out to a family member who didn't realize that it needs to be thoroughly cleaned out after each use. When it was returned to me, it no longer worked. To be clear: this is not a complaint! That good ol' ProHeat was a total workhorse and served me well for many years (10+!!!) but I have to admit that I was not looking forward to having to replace it. Though the expense is worth it, these machines are indeed an expense. But, after a couple of weeks of relying solely on my Little Green Pet Pro for toddler and dog messes, I was really, really missing having an upright. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was when the Revolution Hydrosteam showed up on my doorstep! It was quick and easy to unpack, assemble, and put it to work. And everything I needed—from attachment tools to cleaning solutions—was included (love this about Bissell). I decided to test it out in our high-traffic breezeway as its carpeting has been long overdue for a deep clean, and the results were grossly horrifying, yet also remarkably satisfying. I could not believe how much dirt and debris the carpet was hiding. I thought my ProHeat was powerful, but the Revolution Hydrosteam seems much mightier, and it also feels a lot sturdier to me (though, this may be in part because it's brand new). Like my old one, it does need to be cleaned after each use, but I'm used to that. I am so, so glad to have a Bissell upright carpet cleaner in my vacuum line-up again. Essential for anyone with kids or pets (or, in my case, both!)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kitchen adjacent carpet has had these gross mysterious stain spots for the last 3 years. I previously tried spot cleaning them with a portable carpet cleaner without much luck. I've also been looking for an upright carpet cleaner to cover more surface. Enter the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam! I've always wanted to try using steam to help loosen carpet stains. Setup was easy! The clean water bin and handle snapped into the unit easily. The set also included some cleaning solutions which I thought were too fragrant as I'm sensitive to certain scents. I actually skipped out on using any cleaner as a test to see if steam alone was enough to notice a difference. I set the unit to the steam pretreat and hit the dirtiest areas, then used steamwash max setting to go over small areas at a time before trying to extract as much water as possible with a bunch of passes. I noticed that some “dirt piles” would be left behind after some passes, but those were easily sucked back up on another pass. The spots came out, and the dirty water tank showed how much grime was hanging out in the carpet. It's both satisfying and horrifying. Keep in mind, this was using hot water and steam only! For smaller jobs like stairs and upholstery, it was nice to have the option to use a hose with tool- unfortunately no steam option when using this, but it was good for getting a regular clean. The self cleaning option using tough stain tool was really cool and convenient not requiring a whole additional source of water to “rinse” like I've had to use with other machines. Overall I was amazed at how much I felt the steam helped lift these old mystery stains. I wish the suction for water extraction could've been stronger as the steam does create more wetness, but I feel like it's a small price to pay for the luxury of having the steam option!

First of all, this is one of the most pleasingly aesthetic carpet cleaners I have ever seen! It feels and looks well made! This steam cleaner did an elite job compared to others that I've tried! The steam function is impressive in that I felt like it did a great job sanitizing and getting stains out. This carpet cleaner did a great job on fresh and old stains alike from kids, pets, and life in general. I did try to use it to get some old Play-Doh off, but it wasn't entirely successful. I still had to scrape at it and a stain was left over, but that's the only stain I wasn't able to substantially remove! Initially I was concerned that it was going to leave my carpets wetter than expected, but it did not! Additionally I was intimidated by how well made it was and was worried it would be too hard to clean, but the self clean feature knocked my socks off! This carpet cleaner is phenomenal! I highly recommend it for families with kids and or pets!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Hydrosteam is a great carpet cleaner for tackling both everyday messes and hidden dirt with the power of steam. It was surprisingly easy to assemble and start using. You simply click the handle into place and insert the clean water tank. I was honestly surprised by how lightweight it felt, which made it easy to carry up the stairs. The product feels very sturdy and I expect it to last a long time. It was very simple to fill the tank with water, and I loved the markings on the side of the clean water tank, so I knew exactly how much water and solution to add. After that, I simply plugged it in and it was ready to go. It didn't take long for it to heat it up. The power button on the vacuum seems a little odd (it has a protective plastic cover over it), but it works perfectly. The machine was very simple to use- squeeze the trigger to release the solution as you move the vacuum forward and release the trigger as you pull the vacuum back. I loved that there was a steam pre-treat option to help get out stubborn stains and felt like it worked well. The steam power function was by far my favorite feature. You can actually see the steam as you're using the vacuum, and it feels like it is getting the carpet so much cleaner. As a mom of six, there are constant messes, and this carpet cleaner quickly and easily tackled toothpaste and marker on my carpet. I was amazed that it got everything out so quickly and easily. We are a ‘no shoes in the house' family, and I assumed my carpets were mostly clean. I was wrong. I was both disgusted by how dirty the water was when I emptied the tank, as well as satisfied that the carpet was now so much cleaner. One thing I didn't realize at first was that you need to empty the dirty water tank before using the self-cleaning cycle. The first time I tried it, I didn't empty the tank and water squirted out of the attachment while I was running the self-clean cycle. However, after I emptied the dirty water tank, the self-cleaning function worked great. It was very easy to use and also pretty cool to watch! It was also very easy to disassemble, and I loved that the parts rinsed so easily. I've been really happy with this carpet cleaner so far. It's simple to use, powerful enough for everyday family messes, and left my carpet looking almost like new.

I'm a busy working mom of a young toddler and a dog who hosts family and their pets regularly in the suburbs. So, we see a lot of random messes and stains. I will read instructions to get an initial understanding, but then prefer when something is easy to access and use without too much complexity. Design & ease of use: This cleaner packs a lot of power and functionality into a nice, sleek design. I love that it's multi-functional, so I can use it to deep clean my carpets and then use the hose attachment on couches or chairs. I prefer to reduce clutter in my home, so it helps when I can consolidate appliances into all-in-one options. For a powerful stand-up machine, it was very simple to assemble and easy to maneuver across multiple kinds of carpets. The included storage bag is a small thing that made it easy to keep all of the attachments and the instruction manual in one place. Swapping out attachments was really easy, and they clicked into place very sturdily. The water compartments are also easy to fit under faucets and can sit flat on the counter to make sure you're filling up to the right line. I love how it takes up the same footprint in my cleaning closet as a normal stand-up vacuum, and I'm a huge fan of the bronze/copper accent color! Pets: I tested it out first using the included Pet Pro oxy urine eliminator pet solution to clean some old stains that I found at my parents' house under a chair when moving things around. Despite the spots being there for likely months, this cleaned all of them almost instantly and the carpet looks like it was never dirty (before and after photos included!) Because of the included instructions, I didn't use the pre-steam functionality on this area and had great results. I was shocked at how easy it was, and the carpets dried same day. High-traffic carpet: Then, I used the Pro Max clean + protect solution on some seasonable Christmas rugs. Filling the water compartment to the small area line, I was able to apply a significant amount of solution and still clean 3 rugs - one 3x5 area rug, one rectangular kitchen runner, and one indoor doormat. It was incredible to see how dirty the water was after! It really picked up a lot of the dirt and salt from the winter snowy season here. Both cleaning solutions smelled really pleasant afterward too. I loved being able to use the steam power after applying the solution to really get a good deep cleaning in and help start the drying process too. It only takes a few minutes to get into a rhythm and figure out what works best for your carpets. Take their advice though and vacuum up before you use it to clean! But also, huge shoutout to their filter system for catching the dog hair and loose fibers (that I couldn't even see) without gumming up the internal mechanisms. It was very simple to wipe the filter with a small towel and it was ready to go again. Overall, this is a fantastic machine that's easy to use in multiple essential ways, is quite powerful, and has a small footprint for the functionality it offers. I'm excited to continue trying out all of the different accessories and cleaning solutions on different kinds of messes that pop up with a toddler and dogs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great steam cleaner! The assembly was quick and easy and the instructions were clear. The vacuum comes with multiple attachments so you can clean anything from furniture to crevices. The clean and dirty water tanks are a great size so you don't have to dump or refill so quickly. It took me a minute to understand the handle and how you pull it to get the water/soap solution to dispense, but once I got the hang of it it was simple enough. It has the capability of running two different cleaning options - steam max and steam pretreat. I used both options and they worked great! My children had gotten toothpaste on the carpet and I had had a hard time getting it off once it had dried. This machine got it all out! I pretreated it with steam and then went over it on the regular steam and cleaning. The machine seems to clean well overall. I will say, the carpets were a little wetter than I expected but they could be walked on about 2-3 hours later. The clean up was ok. I do like how easily it is to pop off the brush roller cover and clean the catch and clean tray. I am disappointed that I cannot remove the roll to clean it without unscrewing part of the bottom of the vacuum. Overall, it is a great product and I know it will be very useful!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am writing to share my review of the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam upright carpet and upholstery cleaner. Overall, the cleaning power is fantastic, with plenty of suction for both carpets and upholstery. I have used this vacuum for multiple applications since I've had it and have been impressed with how well it cleans each area of my house. Shortly after I received it, my dog got injured and bled all over on an almost white area rug; the Bissell Hydrosteam successfully removed all the blood, pet hair, and other, stubborn debris. I didn't even realize my carpet was that dirty despite daily vacuuming. The steam function definitely helped on the more difficult stains and to loosen any debris from my dogs injury. I thought I was going to have to throw the rug away but it now looks better than it did before! The steam function also helped soften the creases in a new area rug I just put in my daughter's room, which I feel is a great option and unique feature. I especially liked that it used real steam so I wasn't worried about burning or melting the fibers in the carpet. I also used the easy-to-use attachments to clean a rocking chair, and it now looks like a new chair. Just look at the before and after pictures! The upholstery cord is more than adequate in length, and the sprayer is very simple to operate. My only minor critique is that controlling the spray in small areas, such as the arms of a chair, can be challenging due to a little overspray. This vacuum is an outstanding, heavy-duty, and well-made machine. The self-cleaning feature makes it extremely easy to clean, and the design allows for convenient access to all parts that require cleaning. I've used others that were really difficult and tedious to clean, so I didn't ever feel like using them. The Bissell Hydrosteam is so easy to clean and does such a good job that I am looking forward to cleaning all my other rugs and upholstered furniture. I really enjoyed using this product and would recommend it to anyone who has carpet, area rugs, or upholstered furniture in their home.

I was under the impression the rental had more power, suction & better ability to clean. After using the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam I will never rent another carpet cleaner again. I am amazed at what a good job the Revolution Hydrosteam did. Our carpets are cleaned on a regular basis- both vacuuming & carpet cleaning. I was shocked at the amount of dirt & dog hair that was pulled out! The steam did an incredible job loosening dirt, debris & hair. I love knowing that this added feature also helped clean the carpet. I managed to get out stuck on smoothie & dirt from pets & kids. The machine was so easy to use and it moved back and forth on the carpet with ease. I love how easy it is to clean as well. The self clean hand held tools & pull back front panel means the machine cleans but can be cleaned thoroughly as well. I will absolutely be recommending this to family & friends!

I own three separate machines from three different brands, and this is hands down the best one I have ever used. The pictures speak for themselves. My living spaces get a ton of traffic due to two children (one that crawls everywhere) and a dog, so I needed a machine that was going to get as much grime out of the carpet as possible while also being easy to clean and operate. I am pleased to say that this carpet cleaner checks all the boxes. My carpet was riddled with mud stains, paint residue, and sticky spills; This machine tackled them all with ease! I also love the formula it came with because it left my carpets smelling amazing. The machine itself is very easy to use. When you turn it on, you have to wait around 30 seconds for the steam function to be ready to use. After it is ready, you can press the trigger to spray formula over the surface you are working on. With this kind of machine, working slowly is key in order to allow the spinning brushes to do their job. After you have finished cleaning your desired area, the bottom part of the machine can be disassembled to clean the brush and cover with ease. The section that collects all of the water that is extracted is also easily removed, so that your hands never have to come into contact with the grime. Overall, I would highly recommend this machine to anyone who wants an effective carpet/upholstery cleaning machine that can do both functions in one simple, easy-to-use cleaner.
