It is honestly the best carpet cleaner I have used and I was blown away with the results it produced. I didn't realize how much of a difference the HydroSteam feature would make until I saw the results firsthand. The combination of strong suction and real steam pulls an incredible amount of dirt out of the carpet. When I emptied the dirty water tank, the amount of dirt and debris it collected really spoke for itself. It made it clear that the machine was deep cleaning far beyond the surface level. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The short and simple review of this steamer is that it is extremely easy to use, the steamer extends this beyond just a stain remover, but also a way to refresh carpets. The only Con, is the dry time afterwards, but that is nearly just something that requires additional planning. I am a dad of two young girls, and while stains do happen, I feel we had more of an issue with refreshing our carpets that the kids play on all day every day. The steam clean function does a great job of truly making the carpets feel and smell like new. If you are using it to clean messes it does that pretty easily. Food stains that are still wet are obliterated as if they never happened. And since this is pretty easy to setup, pretty much a vacuum you just fill with water and cleaning solution and it's good to go. So getting to stains quickly is a snap. The one CON, but is likely more of an issue to be planned for is how wet this makes floors. When cleaning thinner area rugs you're looking at an hour or so (with fan) for this to dry. For room carpets with a bit thinker pile you're probably looking at a few hours or overnight for it to dry completely. I think this is mostly due to the suction power of it just being a stand up vacuum. Ventilation and how big a fan you use plays a factor, but still if you've ever rented a carpet cleaner do not expect the same suction power. The accessories for cleaning upholstery or small stains works exactly as you'd expect. It does have this self cleaning feature for this accessory hose where you can close off the end of the tool and it'll cycle water thru cleaning it. This was a new and easy feature to me that I thought was a nice addition but saw that this is becoming the norm on all new carpet machines. In the end I would recommend this for anyone with kids, especially if you wanting to refresh area rugs in a playroom/mud room to get out the general funk they get. This makes a big difference in the overall smell of the room without having to spray air freshener which you know are just masking an unpleasant scent. I would not recommend this if you have mostly thick/long pile carpet as this likely won't dry your carpet fast enough for it to be all that convenient.

I'm someone who gets the ick real bad from dirty floors but also someone who made the decision to get very light carpet (with little kids in the house no less!). I needed a real solution because hiring the pros to do it several times a year was not working with our budget or lifestyle. This Bissell has be obsessed, it's so easy to use and the results are intensely satisfying that even the mattresses in my house are getting a good cleaning these days! The machine is smaller and lighter than the cleaners you can typically rent and I LOVE the steam feature. I cleaned my carpets without and cleaners, only water and steam and I'll let the photos speak for themselves on how amazing it works. I used the hose and other attachments which doesn't support steam and will be adding photos of my dining room chairs that I used to be so embarrassed by, but now they look 100x better! The blue stain is acrylic paint and the green is a permanent marker. I used to dread cleaning up after cleaning but this Bissell has a self cleaning feature to clean the brush and it makes that part so much more tolerable. I do with it came with the docking station to be able to use that feature but it was worth the cost to me! I wish I could add more photos of all my before and afters! I reallly love this cleaner! I've had others and this is the best one I've owned and no more pro needed!

I have a young child, 3 cats (including a senior), and a giant fluffy dog who we adopted as a puppy, so although I always cleaned up messes by hand, many left unsightly stains that just wouldn't go away. I had considered renting a professional carpet cleaner, or hiring someone. I borrowed a family member's machine that did next to nothing besides waste a lot of expensive cleaning solution. This machine made short work of the job, and my carpets now look and feel so clean that I actually cried real tears of joy. It was simple, intuitive, and straightforward to assemble, with detailed instructions to assist if needed. This machine is very well designed. The cleaning solution actually goes much farther and cleans more than I expected, and seeing the murky water that gets sucked back out through the clear front is incredibly satisfying, and makes it easy to judge how many passes are needed. The machine is a little on the heavy side and can be tricky to maneuver, but it has to be heavy to have so much power. The steam really works great to break down and loosen any sticky gross spots, and it pulls out an impressive amount of "stuff." I found that if I just went over where I cleaned a few times without squeezing the trigger to spray more solution, the majority of the moisture was sucked up and the carpets dried within only a couple of hours, looking fresh and plush. It was a breeze to take apart and clean all the parts when finished, leaving it ready for the next time. The hose attachment also worked quite well on furniture, edges, and even my cat tree. The hose itself is generously long and the attachment cleans efficiently. Itbeven cleans itself, which was a surprising and helpful feature. The only negative aspects are the aforementioned weight, and that the cleaning solution is a bit on the pricey side. It also leaves a small 1-2 inch strip along the wall where the brushes don't quite reach, so in order to ensure that strip is truly as clean as it can be, I had to go around the whole perimeter of my home with the hose attatchment, which was a bit tedious. I imagine though, that all that won't be necessary again now that the deep clean is done and I own the machine and can use it regularly to maintain this level of clean. Honestly, I was impressed by and am in love with the Bissel Steam Clean. I have recommended it to anyone I know with carpets in their home and will continue to do so, because it provides a level of clean that I didn't know any non-commercial carpet cleaning machine was capable of delivering.

The first time I used it on our living room rug I was surprised at how much dirt it pulled out. The water tank was pretty gross afterward, which showed me it was actually lifting stuff out of the carpet and not just surface cleaning. It's also been great for upholstery. I've used it on our couch for juice spills and food stains and it cleaned them up much better than I expected. I really like is the steam function. The fact that it uses real steam seems to help loosen up sticky or dried messes before the machine pulls everything up. With kids, that's huge because a lot of the stains I'm dealing with are things that have already dried or gotten ground into the fabric. The self-cleaning cycle is another thing I appreciate. It tackles pet messes like no other, and with a new rescue dog that is still working potty training, this tool has become my new best friend!!! I love that it doesn't have a filter in the dirty water tank to get clogged and smelly. I especially love the cleaning power and the option to choose between level 1 and 2. It's so easy to use and push without being too heavy. The cord is an excellent length and it's not terribly loud. I have used this 3 times in as many weeks and every time I know it's going to get my carpets cleaned of animal messes and smells. Bissell is superior in quality!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely impressed with this carpet cleaner. I live in a home that is mostly hardwood floors with rugs. We have two toddlers and a dog. We vacuum frequently and I thought we were pretty clean! Enter the carpet cleaner. From unboxing, it is an impressive machine. It is very sturdily built and simple to put together. It comes with two different shampoo solutions to trial; one general purpose and one geared toward pet stains. Operation is very intuitive and straightforward. I cleaned two large rugs in my testing: An 8 x 10 area rug in the living room and a 7 ft runner in the kitchen. Both are in VERY high traffic spots but didn't look obviously dirty to me. A few passes of this machine proved me wrong. I could immediately tell it was working. The machine very quickly generates powerful steam and the rotating brush really works the shampoo solution deep into the carpet. The machine then thoroughly extracts all the gunk. The result was a canister full of dark brown waste water. Yuck!! A few hours later, my rugs were dry and ready for use again. This carpet cleaner will definitely work its way into my regular cleaning routine.

First of all, this is one of the most pleasingly aesthetic carpet cleaners I have ever seen! It feels and looks well made! This steam cleaner did an elite job compared to others that I've tried! The steam function is impressive in that I felt like it did a great job sanitizing and getting stains out. This carpet cleaner did a great job on fresh and old stains alike from kids, pets, and life in general. I did try to use it to get some old Play-Doh off, but it wasn't entirely successful. I still had to scrape at it and a stain was left over, but that's the only stain I wasn't able to substantially remove! Initially I was concerned that it was going to leave my carpets wetter than expected, but it did not! Additionally I was intimidated by how well made it was and was worried it would be too hard to clean, but the self clean feature knocked my socks off! This carpet cleaner is phenomenal! I highly recommend it for families with kids and or pets!
