I had some week old salsa stains on my carpet from when my two year old decided to have chips in the living room. I spent a long time trying to get them up by hand, this machine was a miracle worker. The stains stood no chance and came up so easily and quickly I was kicking myself for not investing in a carpet cleaner years earlier. I love that it has a large clean water capacity. There is nothing worse than constantly having to refill while in the middle of cleaning. I also really appreciate the upholstery attachment. We have two dark blue fabric chairs that are starting to show dirt marks and I'm thrilled that I can clean both my carpets and my chairs with the same thing. I love the steam power function. It really seemed to help lift those stubborn stains right out of the carpet with little effort on my part. Overall this cleaner is just so easy to use and surprisingly easy to clean much to my delight. I abhor cleaning machines and devices after use because it's always so tedious and difficult. Not this one. It's a game-changer. Overall I highly recommend the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. It will save us so much money in the long run with keeping our carpets looking professionally cleaned at a fraction of the price.

I've been using it for a few weeks and - unfortunately - had more than enough opportunity to put it to the test. On rugs and carpets, the Revolution Hydrosteam does a fantastic job cutting through fibers and separating messes, while the strong suction helps to get everything up. On hard floors, the steam makes cleaning stuck-on messes so simple while hearing, seeing and feeling the steam reminds me that my floor is cleaner than it was before. My favorite part is how it's built to handle the biggest messes. The tank is massive so I'm spending less time emptying and refilling, and instead am able to knock messes out in one hit. There's no getting around the noise, however, so expect a loud process. But the noise - to me - is a reminder that there's a lot of power being generated and helping me to get my house back to normal. Nobody likes cleaning up big messes, but a tool like this is good for when the time comes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first standup carpet cleaner I've owned. Since getting a cat, I figured it was time. We've had stains on the carpet from stuff coming out both ends of the cat that we couldn't quite completely remove with a hand-held. The Bissell was easy to prep, with lines showing where to fill with water and with cleaner. The steam light went on in under 30 seconds as advertised. It took a few seconds to get going after pulling the trigger, then the steam/water was consistent afterwards. It has impressive cleaning power, both with the suction and the brush roller. When I was all done and the carpet had dried, those stubborn stains were gone. Having the steam option made all of the difference in getting a carpet that looks as clean as when it was first installed. The cleaning was a cinch. The base popped off and the hair catch slid right out. It picked up more human and cat hair than my vacuum did. Throw the hair in the garbage, rinse out the tanks and brush guard, give it a quick wipe down, then leave it out to dry.

We kept getting grease stains all over our carpet upstairs. It took us a while to figure out where the grease stains came from. The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam got those stains out ENTIRELY! I was so excited to try it that I forgot to take before pictures of the grease upstairs. I did have to do it once, let it dry, and the clean it twice to make it go away entirely, but it was totally worth it. The pictures I've shared are from our downstairs carpet where it is highly trafficked. We had some grease stains there. The pictures show how it looks after once over. I'm certain they will be gone after the carpet drys and I do it again. The hose self cleans, which is amazing. And the top of the main suction part comes apart entirely so an EASY clean. My last carpet cleaner got mold there because we couldn't take it apart, so this was awesome. I think the steam cleaning portion of the vacuum really makes a difference. I will say that the solution they want you to use is very strong. I recommend planning to be able to ventilate well while it drys. I also tried it on my couch and it looks amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The short and simple review of this steamer is that it is extremely easy to use, the steamer extends this beyond just a stain remover, but also a way to refresh carpets. The only Con, is the dry time afterwards, but that is nearly just something that requires additional planning. I am a dad of two young girls, and while stains do happen, I feel we had more of an issue with refreshing our carpets that the kids play on all day every day. The steam clean function does a great job of truly making the carpets feel and smell like new. If you are using it to clean messes it does that pretty easily. Food stains that are still wet are obliterated as if they never happened. And since this is pretty easy to setup, pretty much a vacuum you just fill with water and cleaning solution and it's good to go. So getting to stains quickly is a snap. The one CON, but is likely more of an issue to be planned for is how wet this makes floors. When cleaning thinner area rugs you're looking at an hour or so (with fan) for this to dry. For room carpets with a bit thinker pile you're probably looking at a few hours or overnight for it to dry completely. I think this is mostly due to the suction power of it just being a stand up vacuum. Ventilation and how big a fan you use plays a factor, but still if you've ever rented a carpet cleaner do not expect the same suction power. The accessories for cleaning upholstery or small stains works exactly as you'd expect. It does have this self cleaning feature for this accessory hose where you can close off the end of the tool and it'll cycle water thru cleaning it. This was a new and easy feature to me that I thought was a nice addition but saw that this is becoming the norm on all new carpet machines. In the end I would recommend this for anyone with kids, especially if you wanting to refresh area rugs in a playroom/mud room to get out the general funk they get. This makes a big difference in the overall smell of the room without having to spray air freshener which you know are just masking an unpleasant scent. I would not recommend this if you have mostly thick/long pile carpet as this likely won't dry your carpet fast enough for it to be all that convenient.

With 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats, my carpets get a ton of traffic and plenty of messes, so I need something that can really handle everyday life. My favorite feature is definitely the steam function. The steam really helped loosen up tough, stuck-on stains that usually take a lot of scrubbing. I noticed a big difference when cleaning areas that had older spots or heavier dirt. It made those areas much easier to clean and the carpets looked noticeably fresher afterward. I also really like the extra features that come with it. The hose and attachments are great for cleaning stairs, furniture, and other areas that are harder to reach with the main cleaner. Having those tools made it much easier to tackle different spots around the house without needing another machine. Overall, I feel like it did a great job cleaning and refreshing my carpets, especially considering how much use they get every day in my house. The only downside for me is that I wish the suction was a little stronger to pull up more of the water and help the carpets dry a bit faster. That said, between the steam feature, the helpful attachments, and the overall cleaning power, it's been a really useful addition to keeping up with all the messes that come with a busy house

I've used a lot of upright and handheld carpet / upholstery cleaners and this one outperforms all of them. I LOVE the steam feature. I was able to presteam areas of my sons' bedroom rug that had slime smashed into the carpet and it came right out after. The clean water / soap container and the dirty water container are both a great size. They hold a lot without being overly bulky or hard to carry. On the regular cleaning function, this machine was able to make my area rugs look fresh and bright. The handheld attachment lets me use it on my couches and for spot treating and it works great. Best of all, it is a breeze to clean this machine. The containers have wide openings to empty them that also allow them to dry quickly. The front panel over the roller brush also pops off easily to clean lint and dirt out easily. And the handheld attachment has a self-cleaning mode to get all the lint and dirt out of the brush head. I love that this machine, which is the same size as my previous upright carpet cleaner, actually replaces 2 machines because of the handheld attachment. Plus it has the steam feature which is an amazing upgrade that makes it even more effective.

But this one was awesome! I am finally able to get the clean I want from the messes of 3 kids and an indoor Golden Retriever. The cleaning power was adequate and I really enjoyed the steam option. I don't think I'll ever have to rent a carpet cleaner again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely impressed with this carpet cleaner. I live in a home that is mostly hardwood floors with rugs. We have two toddlers and a dog. We vacuum frequently and I thought we were pretty clean! Enter the carpet cleaner. From unboxing, it is an impressive machine. It is very sturdily built and simple to put together. It comes with two different shampoo solutions to trial; one general purpose and one geared toward pet stains. Operation is very intuitive and straightforward. I cleaned two large rugs in my testing: An 8 x 10 area rug in the living room and a 7 ft runner in the kitchen. Both are in VERY high traffic spots but didn't look obviously dirty to me. A few passes of this machine proved me wrong. I could immediately tell it was working. The machine very quickly generates powerful steam and the rotating brush really works the shampoo solution deep into the carpet. The machine then thoroughly extracts all the gunk. The result was a canister full of dark brown waste water. Yuck!! A few hours later, my rugs were dry and ready for use again. This carpet cleaner will definitely work its way into my regular cleaning routine.
