We have all carpet on our second level and even though we don't wear shoes in the house, our carpets get filthy! This machine is a bit heavier than others I've used but that also makes it better at sucking up the water. We had a big coffee spill on our couch and carpet, the vacuum sucked it all up. I was also surprised by how long the hose was to spot clean, it was so convenient and I didn't have to keep lugging the big vacuum around with me! Hands down the best part is the steam! I was so thrilled to steam the carpets, it looked like a professional carpet job was done- that's how clean the carpets got and felt so soft again! The machine itself is not self cleaning but it is extremely easy to clean. The hose comes with a self cleaning attachment. Although minor, the only downside is that the cord is quite short and I wish that it was longer. If you're looking for a carpet cleaner that has big reservoirs, actually picks up the water, steams, and is very very easy to disassemble and clean this is the machine for you! Happy cleaning!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never thought I would be literally giddy about a carpet cleaner, but here we are. This Bissell has outdone every single one of my expectations. I have four small children, and it feels like every other day they're creating some small disaster on my carpet/upholstery, such as sticky food messes, mud, or the unfortunate side effects of potty training. Usually with my old machine I would put off cleaning everything up because it was such a hassle, but the revolution hydrosteam makes it SO EASY. Set up takes no time and all, and my favorite part is how quickly I can clean the whole machine when I'm done—it seriously takes less than a minute to rinse and clean everything out, especially with the self-cleaning cycle (I literally did the self-clean like six different times my first time using the machine just because it was so satisfying). The suction/cleaning power of it is also incredible, so it takes way less time to clean the actual messes, which is so nice when I don't have a ton of time. I also love that it has steam power!! It's a very unique feature that solves some of my biggest mess headaches. I seriously cannot recommend this machine enough!

To put it simply: I have mostly white carpets… along with two black dogs, two kids, and one very clumsy me. So my carpets definitely see their fair share of messes. The machine itself is a bit of a behemoth, so storage can be tricky if you don't have much extra space. That said, the cleaning power makes it worth it. I've used the SteamWash Max setting on some of the most heavily trafficked areas in our home, and while I was very satisfied with the results, I was also a little disgusted by how dirty the water was afterward—which honestly just proves how well it works! The carpet overall is more brightened and fresh looking! There are several small stains throughout my carpet that noticeably faded after just one use. They aren't completely gone yet, but I was impressed that they improved so much right away. Our outdated dining room unfortunately still has carpet, so when my baby dropped spaghetti sauce on it, I was nervous—but the cleaner handled it with no problem at all. The real steam cleaning feature is a big plus for me because it feels like the carpet is getting an extra deep clean. Cleaning the machine afterward was also surprisingly simple. It did collect some dog hair, but it was easy to remove from the catch and clean tray. Honestly, I never thought I'd say this about a carpet cleaner, but I actually look forward to using it. Now when a spill happens, I don't dread the cleanup nearly as much!

The hydrosteam made sticky messes from my toddlers clean up so smoothly and effortlessly. The pre treating feature is awesome! Again, just making it so much easier to lift and remove stains. Love that you also have a hose to be able to clean your stairs or couches as well. The look of the product is very sleek. It's very easy to disassemble and reassemble. You can do it all one handed which helps when you're a busy mom wrangling kids as well. This product is very sturdy and is used very frequently in our home! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This carpet cleaner took a bit of trial and error for me to start, but once I got going it really did a great job. It is really surprising how much dirt was buried in my rug. I have attached a photo that shows the dirty water tank after I cleaned an area rug. I have three small children and one dog, a black lab. The instructions said to vacuum the area well before beginning. I learned very quickly that my vacuum has nowhere near the suction power that this machine has. The EZ Clean Brush Roll Cover with Catch & Clean Tray was really put to the test and it caught so much dog hair. This tray was incredibly easy to take off and clean/ remove the hair that had built up. I did find that in the beginning of every forward pass I made, it did leave some clumps of dog hair behind. I do think though that if my vacuum had worked better ahead of time this wouldn't have been an issue but I do appreciate that the dog hair did not clog up the machine. I do have another carpet cleaner that is older and it does not do well with dog hair.. in fact I think the dog hair may have ruined my older machine and I haven't been able to use it. I think the steam and the XL DirtLifter PowerBrush really make a huge difference with how much the Revolution Hydrosteam picks up. I could visibly see the brown water being sucked up. It was very satisfying! The large clean and dirty water tanks are nice too, you don't have to constantly be stopping to empty or fill up. I'm excited to keep using this machine to clean all of the carpets and rugs in my house as well as the upholstered furniture using the upholstery attachment. The photos attached are certainly not pretty photos but they really show how powerful the Revolution Hydrosteam really is, even with all of the pet hair.

We have long haired cats and a toddler so cleanup is constant. The machine is very easy and quick to assemble. It isn't as heavy as some carpet cleaners and rolls smoothly making cleaning a breeze. The Steam Wash really helps with set in stains. It took out stains our other carpet cleaner couldn't. I love how you can see the steam coming out of the machine so you know it's working. It helps to lift the stains. The suction is great so after a few swipes the carpet is fairly dry. You can see all the dirt and hair coming though the front of the machine. I couldn't believe how much came out of our carpet that we vacuum regularly. It sucks up all the water and cleaner so your carpet is left feeling soft instead of crunchy after drying. It is also very easy to clean afterwards with the self-clean feature. I enjoy using this so much more than other carpet cleaners because it is easy to use and actually works great.

As someone with kids, I'm always dealing with spills and messes, and it did a decent job refreshing carpets and cleaning larger areas. The amount of dirt from our rug was significant! However, the machine is quite large and heavy, which makes it harder to move around. It also struggled with tougher, stuck-on stains and left a noticeable white residue behind. I liked that it uses real steam and the self-cleaning cycle was simple to run, which makes maintenance easier. Overall, it's a good option for light carpet cleaning but not the best for deep stain removal.

I will not deny how heavy it is when filled, especially if you have a full tank and need to carry it up to the second floor, but its effectiveness makes it all worth it. I had a lot of carpet stains that have have been there for longer than I care to mention and this carpet cleaner got everything out. For a few of the stubborn ones I did need to go back and forth a few times, but between the steam and the solution, they all came out. I attached some pictures showing some blue stains that were removed fairly easily (no clue what they were from). I used this cleaner on my dog's vomit and it was cleaned up after a few passes. This carpet cleaner will also tell you how dirty your carpets are in many ways. We were redoing my girls' bedroom, so we had everything off the carpet including the beds. We vacuumed a few times prior to using the carpet cleaner on the entire room. I noticed that sometimes when I would move the carpet cleaner back and forth, it would leave a wet lint trail. I took that as I needed to vacuum more, so I stopped cleaning and switched back to vacuum and that did the trick! The steam feature is incredible and I can tell how that really helps remove all the stubborn stains. Downside is I would love to use this on my heavily used stairs, but since the machine is a bit wide, I can't use it on my stairs, so I would have to use the wand and the wand does not have the steam feature. It is large like a standing vacuum, so you will want to make sure you have an accessible place to store this. The drying time of the carpet ranged on how many passes I needed to do on the stains. For larger areas it took longer, but for the small areas/spot treatments it took about 2 hours. I saw a recommendation to push down the cleaner head while over the spot to help it absorb more liquid, but I didn't find that necessary since the carpet was damp, but not soaked. Overall I highly recommend this carpet cleaner if you usually have a lot of stains to clean and you want to save your back and arms from the bending over and scrubbing. It is highly effective on getting out stubborn stains on a small and large scale and can replace the need for multiple stain removing devices. If you have this in a handy location, there is never a need to hand scrub stains out when you can just use this.
