The French Gruyère cheese has a mild, slightly sweet flavor, an excellent price, and is wonderfully gentle on my stomach thanks to its aging. Its melting properties are outstanding. It's exquisite on open‑face sandwiches in the oven for breakfast, or inside hot chocolate. Also in fondue-style dishes, on salads, and as part of a cheese platter.

I love the cheese because of the texture and taste, definitely would put this in Alfredo or spaghetti sauce. It was creamy but solid and tasted like a less sharp version of Parmesan cheese with a bolder finish, I have a feeling it will melt better than Parmesan as well. I would use this as an alternative to Parmesan especially considering the price for amount, I have no negatives to this cheese I would buy it again!

Gruyere is one of my favorite cheeses. The Alpenhas French Gruyere has a great taste with just a slice. Used it in a lobster Mac and cheese recipe. It was not over powering in flavor. Complimented the dish. Next trying it on a grilled cheese. Great overall flavor!

We always like to keep block cheese on hand for snacking, recipes or entertaining. We also like to have a variety so I was happy to try Alpenhaus Gruyere because specialty cheese is a treat and I don't like traditional Swiss. As soon as I opened the package, you could smell the nuttiness and while the cheese is hard, it still had a smooth texture and sliced easily. I ate it in chunks on crackers but I know this will be delicious melted on French onion soup or Mac and cheese. I hope Sam's carries this regularly and it's not a seasonal offering.

Today I tried Alpenhaus French Gruyere Semi-Hard Cheese. As soon as I opened the package, I knew the cheese was going to be good. Once opened, the aroma of good Gruyere was noticeable. It's hard to find really good Gruyere without going to a specialty shop and paying a small fortune for a piece. Sam's Club has done it again! They are selling really good Gruyere at a great price. Beyond the wonderful aroma, the cheese tastes delicious. It has a rich nutty flavor and a semi-hard dry texture exactly like you find with good Gruyere in France. Enjoy it alone, with a nice glass of wine, some fruit, or some nuts. It is also easily incorporated into your favorite dishes. I am really happy to have found this delicious cheese so close to home.

I had never tried this cheese before. I am pleasantly surprised at the taste. It's nutty and tastes great on pasta. Also put it on a Caesar salad and liked it better than Parmesan. Would definitely buy this again and recommend it to family and friends.

My husband and I love having cheese during every meal and of course as a snack. This Alpenhaus French Gruyere Cheese that has been aged a minimum of 120 days is one that we will continue to reach for. It is great on quiches, omelets, salads, casseroles, and just on its own as a snack. It pairs great with wine and different cuts of meat. The price also can't be beat at Sam's Club, especially being a product of France. We highly recommend!

I love Gruyere cheese so much and this did not disappoint! I love how it can be so versatile and the size and price are very nice. I love any type of cheese but this one has a spacing hint and you can tell it comes from France. The flavors are bursting in my mouth with every bite. I will repurchase!

This is a good cheese. I like that it is a drier cheese. The rind on this particular type of cheese is not good, in my opinion but other than that I liked it. Similar to Swiss in taste. My kids do t like it, but my husband and myself both thought it was nice. Nothing extraordinary about it, but good.
