Today I tried Alpenhaus French Gruyere Semi-Hard Cheese. As soon as I opened the package, I knew the cheese was going to be good. Once opened, the aroma of good Gruyere was noticeable. It's hard to find really good Gruyere without going to a specialty shop and paying a small fortune for a piece. Sam's Club has done it again! They are selling really good Gruyere at a great price. Beyond the wonderful aroma, the cheese tastes delicious. It has a rich nutty flavor and a semi-hard dry texture exactly like you find with good Gruyere in France. Enjoy it alone, with a nice glass of wine, some fruit, or some nuts. It is also easily incorporated into your favorite dishes. I am really happy to have found this delicious cheese so close to home.

This is a premium delectable cheese. It's perfect for putting in dishes or simply eating by itself. It is quite expensive but it is well worth it. It is very creamy and melts in your mouth.

tried this gruyere cheese straight sliced with some nuts and meats to make a board. it has a mild flavor, not very salty at all. initial taste is kind of bland but after taste balances it out. it is on the dry side of eating alone

I miss the Gruyère from Gruyère Switzerland you use to sell, but this is OK. Hopefully the real stuff wil be available again someday.

This French Gruyere cheese is a firm cheese that held up well with some salami and crackers. It has a slight bit of saltiness to it that worked well.
