I have been buying this pillow ever since I had my neck operated on for a herniated disk in 2005. I literally cannot use any other pillow. All other pillows make my neck uncomfortable, and I cannot sleep. Every where I go, I take my Tempur-Pedic Neck pillow! I will only buy this pillow for the rest of my life, I love it. I had been using the same tempur-neck pillow for over 20 years, and loved how soft and squishy it was, but when my neck started hurting recently, I thought it might be time for a new one. Out of the box, the new pillow was pretty hard (firm), and the design / fabric was different too. The first night sleep didn't go well. I'm a side sleeper and it was hard on my face / cheek! Although my head was properly supported, I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking, "is this pillow really this hard"?! The next day I came to this website to read other reviews and it seemed that people either loved or hated it. I was worried it wouldn't get any better... But I told myself I'd give it at least a week, since I couldn't return it. After 2 nights, my neck stopped hurting (!!) but, I still thought the pillow was a little hard. I couldn't deny that the neck / head support was awesome. After 4 nights, I was sleeping through the night, without noticing the hardness, and without neck pain in the morning. I've now had the pillow for a month and I absolutely LOVE it. It's also not "hard" like it was in the beginning. It's very nice, and allows me to fully relax as my head is properly supported. My husband tried my pillow out, too, and we ended up replacing his old Tempur-Neck pillow too! Bottom line: This is a GREAT pillow. STICK WITH IT and you won't be sorry. I am so glad I upgraded to the new Temper-neck pillow!

First off, yes this pillow is harder than your average pillow, but it states it is medium firm. I can tell it is also softening with more use as tempurpedic does. It can take up to 3 weeks for it to soften up. It is amazing for my neck! I have been sleeping soooo good and i have no more neck pain at all! It's amazing. I think i did get too small of one (i went with small because i was worried a medium would be too big) but honestly i just put a thin pillow under it and that worked great and it sits at the perfect height now. Despite being a harder, more firm pillow, it is absolutely perfect for what i bought it for - which was neck pain. This is not an average pillow, and it's not meant to be. It's truly great for helping with neck pain

I've purchased and recommended TempurPedic mattresses for decades, so I didn't hesitate to purchase this contour pillow. Unfortunately, I found the pillow to be much too firm! After trying to adapt for over a year, I finally stopped using it. When my frequent headaches went away, I concluded they must have been caused by the too-firm pillow.

I have gone through both the Symphony and the Traditional tempur-pedic pillows but returned to my old Neck Pillow. I was looking for additional support but the other two lines left me with a stiff neck and sore back in the morning. They are both sitting in my closet and I continue to use my neck pillow. It is a classic and you can't go wrong.

I purchased two TEMPUR-Neck Pillows, Small, as there was a "special." After opening and using ONE of the pillows for < week, I determined that the pillow was not an appropriate size... I was looking for TMJ & neck pain relief and it felt as if it exacerbated it. I reached out to customer service to ask about exchanging the second pillow that was still unopened in it's original plastic packaging AND box. I was stunned to receive a hard NO. I find it ironic that the company's reply included the line "As a zero-waste company, unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on comfort items like pillows due to their personal nature" yet the company accepts returns on mattresses? Again - I was looking to exchange an **unopened, unused** pillow and was declined. We have a Tempur-pedic mattress and sadly, the company has lost us as a customer.
