I was skeptical about spending this kind of money for ice. We had a GE ice maker at work and it did not make enough ice and what ice was in the bin was too soft and melted. I got the GE Profile and I am very happy with my purchase! It makes plenty of ice and it stays crunchy all day. This is the best investment, totally worth it.

This nugget ice maker is my all time favorite appliance. It has a large capacity basket for the ice, it makes ice fast. It’s not noisy at all. If you want a great ice maker, that makes great chewable ice, then get this ice maker. You’ll be glad you did.

Love this product. My sister has had one for years and have had no problems. My ice maker in my freezer stayed broken so after visiting my sister I decided to buy the ice maker and I am so glad I did. It is easy to operate and makes great ice!! I would recommend this product to any one that likes the pellet ice and a dependable small appliance!!

This is a good product however, I do not like the noise. It is a fair amount louder than equivalent ice machines. This unit also has a poor design for where the ice shovel is stored. Once the ice is at half capacity, it is hard to store the shovel. Cleaning this ice machine takes lots of work and will take up an entire day of usage.

So far we are happy. It is a little loud, but so far we love it! It has a bigger footprint than we expected but that’s on us for not measuring. We haven’t used the side water holder yet, simply filling the base has made enough ice for our needs thus far. Overall, no complaints. I love how when the ice melts it just refills the base and makes more ice. Also love the included scoop. I’m pretty sure my kids have eaten their weight in nugget ice at this point.

It was pretty easy to setup. However, despite correct setup -it wouldn’t make ice and was just stuck on “add water” forever even though there was plenty of water in the side tank. After a couple of hours, we just crossed our fingers and selected “cleaning cycle” and let the thing run for a bit. The next morning, it worked like a dream. Once you get it to work, it makes perfect nugget sized ice and QUICKLY too. I turn the machine on 20 min before I’m hosting a party and it just does its thing. We bought silicon containers to store the excess in the freezer for when we don’t consume it all. It’s been a few months now where we use this thing regularly and no complaints so far!

After the ice maker failed in our Brand new refrigerator, we started using counter top bullet shaped, ice makers. They have all worked great. When it was time to replace the last one, we decided to upgrade to the GE Opal 1.0 with nugget ice. We chose this model because it made the smaller nugget ice, had a reservoir & is Not a smart, wi fi connect machine. I will admit I wanted this type of ice & this GE model; my husband is thriftier than me & is holding his opinion until he sees if it was worth the extra money!

We recently purchased the Opal ice maker and are very impressed with the ice nuggets! The machine is much quieter than our previous ice maker and it seems to be MUCH higher quality. The instructions to descale/sanitize the machine prior to making the ice were very easy. The ice does take a minute to make but for just the two of us, we have plenty of ice. Overall, very impressed!

This is a warranty replacement of my second failed Opal. We love the ice! We do not like the durability of the product. Our first ice maker quit working after 15 months; well past the 12 month warranty. GE would not give any discount on our second Opal. When it failed at exactly 12 months with a cracked ice auger, they sent us a replacement. It came without a new warranty, so if (when?) this one fails I am no longer a GE Opal owner.

This is a great ice maker. We have it on our kitchen counter and it fits perfectly under our cabinets. The noise only comes on when making ice but is quiet enough that you become accustomed to it fairly quick. Makes ice fast. My wife really enjoys the nugget ice.
