[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have only had the microwave oven for a short time and we are still adapting to the control panel. As others have said the panel is a little dark and harder to see at night but we are going to be placing a light closer to it. The oven is nice looking and matches our new kitchen appliances. Hopefully this microwave oven will last as long as our old one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently switched from an over the range to a counter top microwave and so far we love it. It’s a fantastic size for a counter top option. I love the slate color. Easy to clean. Easy to use. The child safety features are wonderful for our family with multiple small children learning how to use these appliances. So far we are very happy with our purchase.

This is the 5th time we've bought this model microwave in 7 years. (One lasted only 3 weeks!) It's a great product when it's working, but for some reason it never lasts long, it just stops working. The only reason we keep buying it again is because it's small enough to fit on our shelf, yet big enough to hold our favorite casserole dish. So now we always spring for an extended warranty.

Only 1 issue. . . the lighted display is extremely faint. With normal room lighting, you will find it challenging to read. There is no adjustment to make it 'brighter'. Checked out 2 other new units on the shelf, right out of the box, same weak display. . . be advised.

As everyone knows, we want to see if it's boiling, etc. GE says they have gotten this complaint a lot, but there is no fix for it. Can't replace bulb. Otherwise I LOVE everything else. Come on engineers - How did you make that poor decision?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this microwave less than a month, but so far we love it. The size is perfect, even for large items. It heats much faster than our old microwave. The controls are intuitive, and we easily disabled the child lock function (we have no kids around), which made it even easier to use. The only negative I can think of is the time display is a bit dim, but we can live with that!

The 1.6 Cu. Ft. GE Countertop Microwave that we recently purchased works very well. We really like the size, the turntable and it does what we want it to do. The only drawback for us is that except for the clock which is lit up, the control panel isn't lit and the actual controls are grey on black. For those of us with older eyes, it can be difficult to see the controls without using a flashlight!

Door: Does not close gently and quietly; must slam it shut. Plug: Suggest using a plug with a different design where the plug does not stick straight out from the cord. This plug design is difficult to install when space between back of microwave and the wall is limiited. This is our second GE countertop. Only changed because of color; white to stainless.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Capacity size is good for our needs. Control panel is a bit busy and confusing from previous other brand. You have to initiate cook time if you want to cook anything less than 1 minute & can’t just put in the seconds to start it. There is no melt feature for baking prep which I’ll miss but knew that when I ordered. Design is just ok. The top has inverted areas instead of a smooth top. It probably wouldn’t look that great or sleek exposed in kitchen area but we have ours in the pantry for use. Performance and power are ok. It seems to take longer to heat things up than prior other brand model which had lower wattage which seems odd. The button to open unit seems jiggly (hope this holds up) and the door is very loud when you close it. Would have preferred it in black stainless, but it wasn’t available for a while. It’s ok but with the issues above it’s getting 3 stars.
